Xbox 360 Game barcodes - are they the same for every store?

Hi,

My son opened up his b'day pressies this morning and found that my mother had bought a 360 game he's already got, as she's just had a heart attack and is in hospital I don't really want to trouble her with this. I thought she'd bought it from either Game or Tesco, however when I rang Game this morning they said as long as it was sealed and had their seal on it they would exchange (which is exactly what I want to do). Having inspected the game I now realise that there is a barcode on the back, but also where along the edge where the seal is.

Is this seal individual to each company, i.e. if she's bought it from Tesco'sand I take it back to Game will they tell me it didn't come from them.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, if I can I want to try and take back today while my son is at school.

Many thanks,

Lee

I don't think so...... if u take it back to Tesco I'm pretty certain they'll exchange it for somethin else for you. I don't surpose it was Halo 3 was it?

They won't do a thing without a receipt.

Especially as it's being sold in Comet for £9.99.............people could make a killing.

We don't have a comet on the Isle of Wight. The guy at Game I rang said "bring it in and if their seals intact you can exchange". I don't nderstand what he meant by "their seal". Their's only one seal and it has a barcode along it. Thats why I asked whether each individual company has a different barcode along the seal. As I didn't want to go there and be told "nah mate this wasn't bought from us".

The seal is the Microsoft Seal of Authenticity to prove it's not a fake. They are the same barcode on every game. :)

I heard that Game put a seal on the Zapper for the Wii(It doesn't usually come sealed), so maybe they have there own seal?

dont GAME have their own GAME security tag around the rightside of the casing (this helps them know if the game has been opened, as the seal/tag will be cracked)

I've only ever seen that on the pre-owned games from them.

if they dont accept it you could always go to asda and take the sticker off a display case and put it on your copy of the game and then take it to the counter and get a refund lol

why don't you offer it as a swap on here?

I'll give it a try at Game and see how I get it on. Many thanks for all your advice.
