Our Xbox 360 headset has just decided to die (in the middle of a MW2 fragfest......sheesh) so am on the lookout for a replacement.

Official ones seem to cost around the £15 mark but I was wondering if anyone had any experience of the 3rd party ones for around the same price (may even push it to £20 if it's exceptionally good).

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

The sound quality isn't as good as the official wired headset but they last a lot longer.

I take it these are 'old' xbox headsets that you need an adapter for?

Correct :)

You don't need the adapter. It helps eg some control but you dont have to have it.

i get a good 10 hours out of my wireless, easy to plug it in when you turn the console off as usb works with the xbox off.

I have a couple or original xbox grey ones somewhere, unused, and never likely to be used, as I dont use nor ever will use Live.

If you want I can see If I can dig one out and you could have it for cost of P&P.

I've got a spare 360 wired one you can have for 5iver+postage, say £6?

Will I need to buy an adapter for it or is it just 'plug n play'?

Havent a clue, its still in its packaging as it came out of the box, only time I use a headset is for Skype. I tied Xbox live once, and havent been back since.

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable could advise if this works without an adapter, if it does and ya still want it, and I can find it in the garage, pm me your details and I will send it off.
