They're not free anymore - now £12.99 excl. VAT. Don't know if you could manage to blag a free one over the phone, worth a shot though.

Says:

The Data Transfer Kit is included with the 120GB Hard Drive accessory. If you've purchased a new Xbox 360 Elite system and want to transfer your data, you can contact Xbox Support to purchase a Data Transfer Kit, which costs £12.99 (excluding VAT).

Does this mean if i'd just bought the hard drive, the kit would have come free with it, but because i've bought complete new console, it doesnt? Stupid microsoft!!

Well, it comes in the pack with new hard drives. But with a new console, I don't see why they wouldn't provide you with one for free if you've just bought a whole new console and explain your disappointment to them over the phone etc.

EDIT: There you go - that0nehurts seems to have sorted you out

Thanks. I'll give microsoft a call tonight, and if no joy I'll PM you my address details and if you let me know what postage would be I can pay bank transfer or paypal gift.

My transfer cable is not the MS one, only connects the HDD to the computer, not HDD to HDD

Could information not be transferred from the HDD to a computer then back to the new HDD?

Does anyone know somewhere that sells these cables over the counter so to speak? Dont really want to order one because of delivery times, unless someone has one I can lend that they can send out tomorrow?
