Is it just me or is anybody else noticing that its got a lot more expensive to buy / pre order games?!? I eemember not so long back you used to pick up a half decent game which had only been out a few weeks for £17.99! I have not seen a game at this price for ages. Has anyone else noticed this??

No, if anything pre-ordering is getting cheaper. (I remember the days when we had to pay £50 to pre-order N64 games, now that was expensive!)

I stopped playing the PSP cos of it, preordering games for £5/6.
Now its in a box somewhere lol

The PS3/360 games dont seem to be dropping as quick as they used to, probly cos of the Call of Duty Modern Warfares that hung about for ages at high prices but still sold well.

You stopped using your PSP console because games cost you £5 or £6? Did I read that correctly?

What is your definition of "half decent"?

Publishers such as Activision, EA Games, &/or Ubisoft tend not to discount as soon as some others, but there are titles that do not have an initial Recommend Retail Price near to £40. Those that are priced between £20 & £30 are still offered at lower prices as before; maybe only for a day, or a few days, but the offers are there.

Prices generally seem quite low to me.

ive stopped pre ordering games due to the fact they can be had a couple of weeks later for near half the pre order price.

doesnt seem worth it now to get a game on launch to have the price take a hit so soon after release.

Games are cheaper now than ever before.

Yeah I remember PS1 games being £45 at launch and now most are £30 or 2 weeks later £22 etc.

If anything games have got cheaper. I have noticed less and less good deals at Tescos, ASDA etc since they started selling pre-owned. Thankfully ASDA give silly money for games lately and I took like 5 in the other week and came out with more money than I ever paid for them months ago. :p
