Went in the bin though.
i tried to register on the MS website and i got this;

First correct the following errors and click submit:

* The chosen country is not currently supported.

wtf

There should be a record of what you previously bought on play.com in your account past orders. You could use that as proof maybe?
#7
Yes its there but that dosent proove that the xbox i currently have is the one i ordred from Play.com, there must be some way MS find out wether ive passed the warranty or not, maybe they can tell when the xbox was first turned on or something??

You are on the American site that's why it says your country is not supported and if you bought it from play you will be able to track the order on there site and the 3 year warranty still stands you have a core system the same as mine the 3 year warranty only applies to hardware failure that shows the ring of lights and the console has a build date on the back so Microsoft will know when it was made so you should be fine as long as the Microsoft silver sticker under the faceplate is still in one piece.

You are asking a weird question if its not broken unless you've done something that could cause this issue anyway just be careful if it does go wrong due to a firmware hack and you send it back and they find its been opened they will send it you back along with a bill for there p+p and time. Ive just had a new elite yesterday and the first thing i did was register it you really should have done this when you first got the console if i where you and where worried id ring up the helpline and explain that you didn't realize that you should register the console till you where just told and see if they will sort it for you i don't see any reason why they wouldn't because your not the first and you wont be the last who forgets or doesn't know they should be registered.

I have a 20GB system its definatley one of the first ever versions.
and yes you were right about the country thing :) thanks.
im just looking ahead incase i get the RRoD because a lot of friends have had it.

Try and register it. It goes off the manufacturing date approx unless you provide a receipt.

3 year extended warranty has ended... for those who bought their consoles at least 3 years ago.

The warranty also starts from date of purchase, not date of manufacture.

When you register they don't know when you bought it so they guess and set it as the date of manufacture plus a few months to account for the retail. If this date is wrong they will ask you to send them a copy of your receipt before honouring the warranty.
