Hi i already have a ps3 and wii and the orignal xbox

I played fable on the orignal xbox that and halo were the main games that i played.

Would you say getting an xbox360 just to play fable 2 is worth it?

Nope.

Buying an Xbox in general.
YES SIREEEEEE
#3
Especially since they are so cheap now with multimedia streaming dvd playback
#4
i suppose if you could get it cheap enough, only thing is you dont get blu ray you have to pay for online, wireless and the machine is noisy:)

You can now play games off the hard drive much quieter now
#6
i don't think fable 2 is as good as fable. but there are some very good titles for the 360 and they're cheap as chips these days. so yeah i think it's worth it.
#7
Worth it for Fable II alone, no. Worth it for Fable II, Mass Effect, Halo 3 and all the other cracking exclusives; hell yeah. Get an Elite though, it's the only model worth the £££, plus the other colours just wont look right sat next to a PS3 .
#8
If you want to play then it's worth it, I got an xbox just to play GOW 1 & 2, completed both of them just before it got RROD! LOL

there probly be a newer one out soon

Not for a while at least. There's rumour for a new Xbox 360 for Autumn 2010, but this won't be anything more than a redesign. I wouldn't expect to see a new Xbox console until about 2012.
#11
Wouldnt get one just to play fable 2.

i bought one a few months back. played the exclusives (only a couple were any good). now gonna sell it as ps3 has far better exclusives now and in the pipeline

much better controller too.

and apart from playing games, its useless for anything else (cant store mp3 / divx etc.).

probably the most overhyped console in history. If you have a ps3, then there is no reason at all these days to get a 360 too.

imho of course

It's worth getting it you plan on buying a flashed one/flash it yourself so you can get cheap games compared to £30-£40 each but I also prefer the PS3 controller and use my PS3 to play movies etc as it's much quiter (I have a 2006 xbox)

LOL most of that is garbage.IMO

The xbox 360 is best gaming console available atm. The controller is miles better than the ps3 one. It can store mp3s and movies. The only fing i can say is oncd you get a xbox 360 dont expect to be playing games on your ps3 again.

p.s i own both.

I suppose it was only a matter of time before it became a fanboy war....

Better exclusives - nope, I'd say the 360 wins this one. Look at the lineup of software AND hardware. You've got Project Natal being released very soon, which offers true 1:1 tracking and enables games and dashboard to be controlled by just using body parts - no extra wand/dildo needed.

Much better controller - absolutely no way. The 360 controller is so good, it's used in the Armed Forces for UAVs. The PS3 controller is pitiful by comparison. It's flimsy, the triggers are convex which makes them next to useless. The analog sticks are in the wrong places and give you very little control because of their (also) convex design. Before you say it, yes - it's very important that the 1st party controller is up to the job as it's the main interface. The PS3 controller falls short.

Useless for anything else Well for starters it's a games machine. If you want a games machine you buy a 360 - plain and simple. What more do you want it to do? I can happily stream music, videos and pictures from my main PC or via a memory stick. Why do you want to be able to copy stuff to the HDD? I don't need 2 copies of all my media - it's a complete waste of space. When it takes me 2 seconds to connect a portable HDD to the front of my 360, why on EARTH would I waste time copying it to the console?

Probably the most overhyped console in history - oh no, this title MUST go to Sony's PS3. Cast your mind back when it was first announced:

2 x HDMI ports to allow for 2 simultaneous outputs
3 x 1000-baseT integrated LAN hub
100% backward compatibility with PS2 games
All games to output at 1080p/60

Tell me again how many of these actually made it to the final release? I'll help you - less than 1.

Then again, Sony know how to really hype a console. The PS2 was initially announced to have the GPU power to generate Toy Story like graphics in real time.

Don't come into a 360-related thread to spout your fanboy comments, especially when you have no grounds to do so. Leave the trolling to the trolls.

With the ability to install games now at around 7gb a pop, surely they must, must be releasing a bigger hard drive soon. like a 320gb at least. I don't want to fork out for a 120gb but I keep hoping they'll release a bigger one, then the files will be available to do a DIY upgrade.

There's nothing announced as yet, but with the new additions happening in the next 12 months, I would agree that a larger HDD must be on the cards. Remember tho - you have the ability to delete the game data from those you're finished with to save space ...

if i do get one what is the flashing process like? e.g where/how much can i get it done for? Also wouldnt it get blocked from live if i did flash it?

and finally where do you get the games from?

you cant save mp3 to the harddrive? you can do that with an orignal xbox and then some games you could actually play the music through the game!

yeah - I was shocked too especially as everyone raved about how great a media server it is and you cant even store media on the hdd :x

cant even watch dvds on mine either as it sounds like a small aircraft in the room. Mine is 3-4 months old btw

selling it if you're interested lol

you'll need to buy a wireless adaptor too (£40) unless you can use ethernet. and a play & charge kit or use batteries for the controllers as they arent rechargeable out of the box.

im not really bothered about streaming music and videos etc as i just use my comp or laptop. As i mentioned just really want to play fable may just have to borrow a mates!

also i wouldnt be looking to buy it - thinking about (hopfully) aquiring one via cokezone which will work out to be about £70 on coke with a potential xbox360 :whistling:
#25
Since I've got my PS3 I've only touched my 360 to play a few times with my friend and I don't do that at all even now.

Also when I did play it regularly I never bothered getting fable II I didn't think it was that good but maybe that's just because it's a RPG which I'm not much of a fan of.

I'll say another thing (don't hate) THIS IS MY OPINION.
I find that the PS3 controller is better than the 360 weirdly even though I thought it would be worse but it feels much easier tbh.

If there was any truth to your claims you wouldn't have any gripe from me. What you've posted was biased and unfounded. Yes, you can argue it's your opinion but when you constantly do this it just comes across as trolling. Take your own advice - if you can't stop yourself from posting in 360 based threads to express your dislike, go somewhere else. :whistling:

Saying that, now I've re-educated you on what console was more hyped at least you can change your view now. (LOL, like that's gonna happen!)

You could never store MP3s on the original Xbox without a custom dashboard - even then you wouldn't have been able to play them in-game. You're thinking of wma files which are stored once ripped from an Audio CD. Yes, the same can be done on the 360. Not only that, but you can stream mp3s from a network/USB storage for in-game use too

Again, why would you even want to? Having 2 or 3 copies of everything is just wasteful.

Mine's over a year old and you can hardly hear it. I suppose it all depends on where you keep it....

Yet again another dig at comparing it to the PS3s wonderful idea of an internal battery. Just remind me what you're going to do once it stops being able to hold a charge???

BTW, I own both consoles too - I wouldn't want you thinking I'm a fanboy :whistling:

To get fable 2 proberly not, but to get a 360 for all the other games and stuff. def yes.
For me the only better thing about the ps3 is it has a built in blu ray player but in saying that I wouldnt pay £15+ for a blu ray anyway and you can get a 360 + a seperate blu ray player and prob still be less than a ps3.

Yes you have to pay to go online but the ps3 is ment to be so rubbish online that your better of paying the small amout for a year and getting it on the 360.

If I was you, I would get a 360, realise in a few months time that the ps3 hasnt be touched since you got the 360 and sell the ps3!

because I like all my media in 1 place and not have to worry about streaming and leaving my PC on and using resources - now thats wasteful! I just copy it from my PC to a PS3 and then delete from my PC. Its not rocket science you know

Sony replace any sixaxis whose battery fails for free. Thought that was common knowledge :whistling:
