It's too soon to talk about failures.
If you are wanting to go wireless, I would get the slim. 4GB is shocking though.

thats whats annoying me, i think wireless would be great for when i need it it in the near future but need the extra hdd space.

If i then buy a hardrive to pop in im looking at least another £20... hmmm it then becomes £119 vs £169

4gb it okay for a few demos but if you wanted to rip a game to the HDD to cut down on disc errors and decrease load times it's a bit small.

I have both and I have to say that I would go for the 4gb first all the time.

I also added a 60gb hdd so it's great and it was so easy to do.

The 4gb is so silent, smaller, look nicer, and the wireless is very good.

If you go for the elite down the line you will end up upgrading anyway, so you might as well do it now.

4gb is ridiculous.
I'm still on the xbox pro with 20 gb hard drive. I have like 10 or so arcade games, but can only install one full retail game at a time. I might upgrade.

ok mate you get a 4gb console dont go online as you download game addons/map packs then thats your drive full

get a 120Gb elite then you will be fine for space and ripping games etc

The 4GB is seen as 3GB when you load it up. Which is poor to be honest.

4gb all the way, you'll be able to pick up a HDD cheap enough (20gb) its all about what you'll be saving on it. i manage just fine with the 20gb.

also you can use a memory stick as a HDD also.

4 gb is not an issue its' plenty if you don't play online and if later you do decide to go online the option is there to upgrade.

What if they want to RIP their games to HDD? Which is the main reason I have a large HDD with my sons 360, and he doesn't play online with it.

Why would you only get one year guarantee with the Elite ?, it either very old or it's secondhand.otherwise you should get 3 years.

You get a 1 year guarantee with all 360's, only 3 years for specific errors.
