XBOX Live....

Ok as some of you may know, I've recently taken the plunge and bought a 360. So now that we've got broadband that can handle it, I thought i'd have a looksie at Xbox Live.

Now, i'm no techno-phobe, and I found the downloading of Demos and Movie Trailers all to be fine etc, but when I tried playing online against 'the rest of the world' - I was lost and felt like i'd been stuck in a darkened room for the last 15 years! - Playing Gotham 3 on my own - fine and dandy, ut trying to navigate and get an online game and then play it.....

Is it always that much of a pain? it kept joining tournaments as a spectator over and over and when I did manage to 'play' - I was well and tryely taken to the cleaners!!

I think i'll stick to offline play in the future!!

Does take a bit of getting used to. I find the biggest problem is that although there are instructions for the single player the multiplayer games instructions are minimal or non-existant. Have a look on the xbox forums. There is one on PGR which might be helpful.....

It is worth persisting as playing against people live adds a new dimension to the game.

Maybe you want to try playing with my son who is 7.

Not my daughter though who is 4 and kicks butt on Halo live.
That will really depress you

Only problem with live is people can be to competitive and that just loses the fun factor for me!

I like to win, But not constantly 24/7 like some of these people do!

Only got Gotham so far on 360... got loads of normal Xbox games though, might try some of those (if they work in the 360) if not fire up the old box.

I think the point i was trying to make (and looks like I failed) was that the whole Live experience was a bit .....pi** poor! I couldn't really see what all the fuss was about. I mean, what with so much 'loading' time and the number of times i was pulled into a race only as a spectator (god, that was annoying!)

Anyone know how much bandwidth Live swallows up? Not the downloading of demos and trailers, but the actual online play - i'm supposed to be capped with Sky Broadband, but thankfully it's a very loosely imposed cap! :whistling:

I'll probably go on again, it's just a bit of a pain - router is upstairs, 360is downstairs and I don't have the wireless thingy yet.

I was cleaning out my room and found midtown madness 3 and was looking forward to cruising round on live in a test drive unlimited fashion but its not compatible! :(
