Xbox live - HELP

Just bought a 12 month sub from sum one on here. Its a original xbox sub, problem is when i enter the code , the 360 recognizes it as a 12 month sub, but then when i try to end it off with redeem, i get : Cant retrieve information from xbox live. Please try again later - Status code: 8016271f

there has been some problems with the live service since yesterday so it might just be that keep trying and i suspect it will work soon enough
It will never work entering it online or on the pc. I use these each year and have the same problem. You have to ring Microsoft and give them the code and they can activate it themselves.
are you going to call them as I don't hve your account details, and they won't do anything on your account for me because I'm not you.

jaybizzle you need to call them as they won't disclose anything to me. they tld me to tell you to ring them. Spoke to a female called Alex with a Dutch/European(?) accent and she said you need to call yourself.

am confused as to how it can be the card as it was only scratched off after you made payment to me.

it doesnt matter, really, just photo both sides of the card send it to jay and he can email them himself, make sure they are in .jpeg format and the total size of the attachment isnt bigger than 2mb, (lol their servers cannot handle anything bigger, hehe, this is M$ and they are poop!)

oh and i forgot to add, if you phone them morro, they will say it will take 48 to 72 hours for someone to call you back to confirm the issue.

Obviously explain the situation again in the email but make sure that you put the reference number in that they should have given you into the subject field of the email

I dont really wanna wait days for them to get back in touch, i went thru emailing them photos before when they sent me the wrong power cable, didnt even get a reply.

I have no idea as much as you about the card, didnt really enjoy being on the phone for half an hour only to get no joy, had to delete my gamertag and they recover along with other useless ideas!
Problem resolved.

No thanks to microsoft!
