Ok, so I want to connect to live using a long ethernet straight into my router (orange livebox), But it disconnects after around 10mins - What do i need to do for the router to accept and love my xbox?

Anyone willing to talk me through how to or use remote assistance throught MSN Messenger, Then message me and we can Add.

Thanks In advance.

There's no reason why it should be disconnecting....does the livebox cut the internet off from a PC also?

No its like the settings on the livebox wont allow me to connect to the net for longer than the set pairing time(10 mins, this cannot be changed)

It may be that your router has an option set so as not to allow Pinging servers to keep the session alive, therefore it either gets blocked or cut off. just to be sure check your router manual or get technical support to check it for you if you're not confident of doing it yourself.

This option is often set as a default to avoid other people pinging your IP address to see if its 'active'. Unfortunately it can have its consequences!

This could only be one of many possible causes though.

Cheers.

Usually you have to log in to your router and untick/deselect the option to deactivate it then reboot your router. You can do this by putting your routers IP Address usually begins 192.168.*.* (the asterisks represent the last part which may be different from everyone elses) into the address bar of your web browser. Once you log in you should check the config options.

But I should tell you that if you dont know what your looking for or doing then you could end up in a real mess...lol so make sure whoevers doing it knows what they're doin! Gd luck! :-D
