I cant play, been having problems for weeks, keeps crashing when in lobby or finds no games, cant set up private matches either etc just says "game session no longer available"

Not sure if its my 360 or the service.

have you checked any of the 360 forums. if it is with the service im sure youll find a few threads regarding that.
#2
what does it say when you test your network settings is it "strict" (on your 360)
#3
Xbox live is currently messed up, started about an hour a go, no gamertags showing up, marketplace down, no matches showing on any games etc.
#4
Only been playing pes2008 onlin and its rubbish --- ive lost the last 5 matches 2-0 and both goals as i supposidly conceded a penalty of which i never actually saw
#5
Is this the same service that you are all paying for. You know the one that is suposed to be better than the free Playstation network. :giggle:
#6
Exactly my point ^. Your paying for a p2p service that quite simply garuantee's you endless problems such as lag, yet you could be playing online right now for FREE on PSN with dedicated servers!
#7
but xboxs don't cost 320!

yer but were paying to acutally play GAMES online -- whereas the ps3 has online but no games :p
#9
I've not been able to find a playable game of Team Fortress 2 in hours... though I believe it's because of my ISP (Vispa...)

Neither does PS3, it costs £270 or £320 with 2 games.
#12
Playstation fanboys!
Nah, everyone knows that microshaft rip people off, but everyone knows that the 360 is better than the ps3 at the moment in terms of games and actual online experience.
Both have positives and negatives.
Buy a ds, they're incredible :p

The only reason PSN is still up and running is because there are nowhere near as many users as on Xbox Live to make the dedicated servers struggle

Please Note: The above is a sweeping statement with no evidence, but I'd bet a few shandies that it could be along those lines.

After you've spent all that money on a ps3 you should get sometime free with it.

Anyway I had a problem yesterday and i couldn't see any games or join any,my NAT was on strict. So i had to set up ports on my router to allow 360 through..Its now on open and i can see and join lots of games

Setup blade>Network> run xbox live test
#27
That doesnt sound right, I get system, then network, then I can run a test but that doesnt tell me the settings does it?
#28
whoops looked at dns by accident NAT is open
#29
What ISP do you have? I'm with Vispa and I can usually only see 1 or 2 games, could be your problem?

That's cheating, two sets of characters verses one.

But I guess you need your old buddy the xBox brick to back you up :p

BTW I still use the old xBox as a media center as well as owning a ps2 and ps3 both networked. Just though the xBox fanboys would like a bit of banter over their flaky network :)
#32
For tight xbox/360 owners (or anybody else come to that), google xlink ;-)

If you've got nothing useful to add, don't bother with the thread spoiling - it benefits no-one apart from your own ego. The Live network is not 'flaky', its system is more reliable than having a large set of independent servers for each game.

(back on topic) I'm not having any Live problems at the moment, haven't read any other people having issues over the last couple of days. The problem sounds like a port forwarding issue but if your nat is showing as open that can't be the case.
