Xbox Premium HD help.

Hi all,

I have an Xbox premium with the default cable where I can switch between HD and TV. I have a UMC TV with HDMI (specs below):

TV: http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/584562#productInformationSection
Cable: http://media.teamxbox.com/games/ss/1141/1127138261.jpg

The problem I have is, everytime I switch to HD the output is blank and I have no idea why. From the cable, i only have the red, yellow and white connectors in the back of my TV as I have no idea where the others go... any help is greatly appreciated!

Just to re-iterate, this is the cable and I only have the top three connectors in the back of my TV as I have no idea where the rest go.

Sounds like your telly does not have the correct connections because you should have corresponding connectors the same colour as the other wires.

Your better getting the VGA cable as your TV does have a PC connection

Top two are the audio connections, R/L respectively.

Bottom 3 are the component connections, B/R/G respectively.

IIRC you connect the Yellow (composite) R/W (audio) as you have done for SD.

If you're looking for HD with that cable you must use the component cables.

Thanks for your help.. I just can't see where these would go on my TV... not good :(

As Trauts78 said your TV might not have the connections required (not all TVs do). Look to see if you can plug in a VGA cable.

The only other option would be HDMI but... your TV and / or Xbox might not have that either.

I believe I have the VGA connection as I can hook my laptop up to it.

Thanks again all.
