Hi
a quick rant!

I had the lovely 3 red lights on my 360 a few weeks ago and sent it for repair

It came back last thursday!! so i thought to celebrate this i would rent a few games that i had missed from blockbuster.

Then the damn replacement 360 had the 3 red lights on sunday!

Its not on! - to make things worse i didnt get the free month of live i was promised.

Also when i phoned to report the 2nd repair - they didnt even log it on there system, so i rang up today to rereport it,

Im fuming - ive got some games that i cant play, MS are irritating - is there anyone in england i can speak to to moan - the email service is crap and the phone is mental as when i start moaning they cant understand me!

where are you guys keeping these things? In a cabinet closed or middle shelf with a wooden back? and only a little hole for the cables?

If on a desk, find a book that it can sit on, just make sure the book sits in the middle of the holes underneath. Or some bigger rubber feet with sticky pads will do the trick

On an open glass shelved TV unit, on it's own shelf. Well ventilated (As is PSU). Non-smoking house. Rarely moved. Horizontal.

I've had 1 DVD failure and 3 RROD.

1st faulty console was returned faulty (DVD not recognising games discs) after 26 days of use.
2nd faulty console was returned faulty (1,2 & 3 RROD - GPU 'E79') after 90 days of use.
3rd faulty console was returned faulty (1 RROD 'E79') after 308 days of use.
4th faulty console was returned faulty (3 RROD) after 438 days of use.

Current console working fine (touch wook) since May 2008.

All my consoles have been replaced with refurbs by Microsoft.

I thought that the XBOX was a display item, like one of those souvenirs that you get when you go on holiday. I did not know you could use it .

Sorry to hear your issues, I guess you will have to send it back and wait.

I only had an XBOX 360 for almost 2 months now and I am already on my 2nd XBOX. At least mine was under warranty so I just took it back to the shop.

If you really feel frustrated you could try to speak with a "Ombudsman company" and they might or might not be able to do something.

On my 3rd xbox 360 here, i guess it must be my fault though yeh? I keep mine inside my oven, and normally when i change a game i have a handful of razors.

nice post geezer...so you're saying that the OP managed to damage his console by keeping it in an unsuitable place for 2 days yeh?

I got mine pretty much when they first came out, been working fine since then and I play enough games to wear the thumbsticks out on 2 controllers so I guess thats quite a lot. Anyhoo I dropped it a couple of months ago (maybe about a 3ft drop onto a hard surface) and suprisingly enough it wasn't very well. Took it apart, cleaned it, whispered some sweet words to the dvd-rom and hey-presto its been fine since. Never had any other problems. Guess I'm just lucky.

lol i wasnt saying that at all dude, out of bed in the wrong country today?

was just enquiing and making a suggestion, the only ones at fault here are microsoft for making a console thats so sensitive to heat when it's a room heater on its own..

well its in the same place that the first one lived since launch

on a table (which isnt located on the sun)

although even in a cupboard or coffin im sure they would last longer than 2 days
