Xbox XBMC Help!!!

I bought the Xbox 1 from Argos thanks to this site and soft modded it. However after selling it for £80 to a local, it developed an error the same as this person on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOc5OnZpoxs&feature=related

Now i have found the guide to fix it as well as the files used in this video as well:

However my question is, is it possible to do this on a softmodded xbox and no eepfrom ( i made no backup of it). I stand to lose 80 quid if i don't fix it :-(

Rep left for any help, cheers

If you modded it using SID there WILL be a backup of the eeprom on the drive (unless you intentionally erased it) as SID won't mod a box without doing the backups. Otherwise you're probably screwed.

Ahh Shengis, i remember you from another thread mentioning you had a XBMC. This doesn't sound too good but what's SID? I've tried FTPing into it during the error (to replace all the files), but no success.

What if i disconnected the hard drive just before the error and used explorer360 like this guy:

Sorry should have said, used official memory card with splinter cell (original not classic of course), the guide i can't find, but i think i did a backup of some sort before carrying it out

Sorry about the delay mate. Yeah if you used SC you should still have the eprom file on the hard disk. If you've got software that can read Fatx, do the hotswap thing to unlock the drive then go to the following directory...

E: /UDATA/21585554/000000000000/backup/

Copy the eprom.bin file and use xboxhdm to create a new drive image. Might be worth backing up all of TDATA and UDATA else your friend will lose all their saved games. Once you've got it all working you'll need to softmod it again.

Softwares available here : http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/557450#3371151 (you'll need the 5960 Dash files too)

Guide here : http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/533828

Ok lets say, i do have the backup, i can access the files using fileexplorer 360 or a similar program (after plugging it into my computer), how do i 'clean' everything up?

I don't have a fresh copy of how the drives should have been originally. Is it possible to drag and drop the new XBMC i've downloaded?

Looking at most of the guides it's for modded xboxes which i think removes hard drive locks or somethings as well?

Why do you have to refund them, surely it was working when you gave them it, and they messed it up, so it's not your fault?

Stupid me sold it to a friend of the family  should have sold to someone else.

Having read the causes of it, it can be random, not necessarily something they've done :x

it was a friend and you sold it for £80??

Got a cheap xbox from game and softmodded it and gave it back. Cost £20, annoyungly while on my way there another shop in blackburn was selling them for £15 but were out of stock. Even more annoyingly is the one i got has a philips DVD drive so it plays CDs as well unlike the old thompson one.

ancient thread, but the error 21 means someone has deleted part of the stock dash on the C drive.

using a recent softmod package with a Shadow C will prevent this from happening and should always be done if giving it to someone (computer) illiterate.

Error 7 means it can't find the HD, so make sure it's connected properly - if it is you've probably murderised the drive.. =]

A lesson to be learned is always put your eeprom backup somewhere safe... :>
