thanks guys, its unfornunate, the game is only worth about £5, its from the wireless bundle pack (PURE):? seems to be a decent game.

anyway, how much of a crappy design is the dvd drive in the xbox, i would of though it would hold the game properly

(rep for both by the way)

FYI I found that the 360 doesn't seem to scratch any of my discs if the console is sideways. Standing vertically scratching does seem to be a problem.

Gamestation repair discs for £1.99. They grind a thin layer off of the disc, which then effectively leaves a smooth surface.

Hi all, the best place i use is CD24-7.co.uk they are a great service . It costs £3 per disc this includes it posted back via recorded royal mail. Paypal can be used also. You will have to send it at your own cost so for no more than a fiver it will be fixed.

Hope this helps.

If it's a radial scratch caused by the 360 moving, there may be no way to repair it. I know from my experience at GAME that we weren't allowed to trade-in those discs, even with a prior clean in the machine.

how long av u had your xbox it shouldnt really be scratching discs if you have it lay flat? i exchanged a 360 and copy of call of duty mw2 for a customer the other day who had this same problem but hadnt had it on its side.

the 360 was standing vertically, obviously it can do that as it has feet on the side of it.

hopefully gamestation will sort it out,

thanks for all the feedback guys

btw, the scratching is caused by the laser hitting the disc, because the drive spins so fast, u get a perfect circle (like me)

Try the banana trick :) Worked on my Def Jam that would never work no matter what.

No it's not caused by the laser it ain't that powerful :lol. It's caused in much the same way as spinning something then introducing something jagged /sharp to it .. Does not even have to be that sharp in this case as the rpm it's moving at is fast and any foreign material introduced to anything spinning that fast will give radial scratch. Try spinning an old CD and touching it with a pin or anything jagged etc.

Laser lens/enclosure maybe but would have to be being shook pretty violently for that to happen. Resonance on a slightly bigger diameter disc than normal unbalanced maybe tilting too much but it's usually user error it happens.

Hi
I think some discs Xbox will replace if you send them to them, you might like to have a look at the xbox website. We had some damaged and she said if we had bought them once they didn't expect us to buy them again because of what the Xbox had done to them,
