I'm installing stuff from my network drive, but it's behaving like it is actually connected to a network rather than it physically being the same computer, like from hard drive to hard drive install.

wait for your kids to be born and grow up, then they will sort it for you!

Have you turned off Remote Differential Compression.

I'll try to explain better in future

In Windows XP compatibility mode in Windows 7 hard drives on your computer show as network drives. The Windows Virtual PC feels like I'm remotely controlling an XP computer as transfers to and from the drives are slow. I'm not using any network or remote control in Windows XP compatibility mode (Virtual PC).

It was maybe the compatibility mode description at semi fault as The way you are running it is not really xp compatibility mode surely as that would be right click on choose properties and tick box to run under that mode.

From what you describe now it's windows xp mode using virtualization tech in windows 7 and from your enabled CPU.

But it's slow and draggy > ?

How much memory ?

Never ran any in that mode yet might fire up one ot the laptops that supports it. see what gives

Given it a gig of memory, but I haven't looked at video memory...can you assign it?

Got side tracked with my Morrisons curry and tekken 6 wireless sticks. I dunno not run it on any hardware yet however a mistype in google brought me.

seems to also need 2gig of ram to work only from what I am quickly reading so that info may not be good.

this vm sw also requires hardware support to run in hardware, make sure your cpu is compatible as well.

Don't know read some confusing stuff on someone's website that because I've got a full moped licence my CBT is always valid, another bit on it said CBT 2yrs. If I was riding a moped I could understand not having to take a CBT again, but I don't they don't know that. confused. To be safe I'm going to take the test in a year or less anyway.
