I've been trying to configure my yahoo mail with outlook, as I have 2 other accounts already on outlook. Anyway, so when I reach the final step a box keeps popping up asking for my log in details.

I followed the instructions on the yahoo site to the letter

So after a bit of research i came across this:

'The ability to access Yahoo! Mail via a POP3 email client (such as Outlook or Outlook Express) is only available to customers of our premium Yahoo! Mail Plus service.
If you have not purchased the Yahoo! Mail Plus service, you will be unable to retrieve messages via an email client. To determine whether or not you have purchased this service, please visit the My Services page.'

Are they being serious?! the only way to configure it with outlook is if u spend $20 a year on yahoo plus? is there a way to bypass this problem and configure yahoo with outlook?

thanks guys

Don't know where you viewed that

In order to read your Yahoo! Mail an external email client (such as Eudora, Outlook, Netscape, etc.), you will need to configure the Incoming (POP) and Outgoing (SMTP) server settings so that it can send and receive messages from your Yahoo! Mail account. Generally, you can find these settings under the Tools or Preferences menus for your particular email program.
Important: Do not delete your incoming mail settings

If you are already receiving mail from another mail server (such as incoming mail to your address at your ISP), you will need to add a new POP account. Sometimes this is called a new "profile," sometimes a new "personality," depending on your email client. If your email client only allows you to receive mail from one POP server at a time, make sure you write down your current settings before you replace them with Yahoo! Mail settings so that you can change them back if you need to. Below you will find the server settings for accessing your Yahoo! Mail.
Server Settings
Incoming Mail Server (POP3):

Use SSL, port: 995
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):

Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication

Just had a look on the yahoo website (mail classic view)

[edit] just saw that you're looking at the US site... so maybe the above won't work for you./
