YES ADEBAYOR HAS GONE TO CITY! ( ARSENAL FAN ALSO :P )

Wenger has made a fortune on that waste of space. So glad he's gone, had one good season and sold him for £25M, loving it. Who should we bring in? Chamakh sounds good, big target man. Any ideas? Read More

Good business imo - too inconsistent, too "whiny", too greedy - will be interesting if he can nail a regular 1st team place - cos without Europe - squad rotation won't be as popular because Hughes will want his best "settled" side . . .

It's probably due to him getting a work permit today;

Still doesn't mean he has signed for them!

It's not on SSN or Arsenal or Man City's website.

Sorry RedIron not gripe at you obviously

my sources reveal adebayor and terry will be both signed up by next thursday:thumbsup:

we are not, were not really here:whistling:
#12
Adebayor will be gone sooner than next thursday should be in a couple of days.
#13
Apparently he has already passed a medical. Anyway, Arsenal won't be spending that £25m, it will go towards the funding of the stadium. Even if it was available, Arsene wouldn't spend it. Expect Monsier Garlic, a young up and coming French striker to come in.

I wouldn't bet against him being a hit at City.

Anyone who can score 30 goals in a premiership season can't be that bad.

Maybe a new club and manager may spark him into life.

Players are gonna have to be dropped at city & they aint gonna like it, City's wage bill is also gonna be foooking enormous!
Gonna be good fun watching how next season pans out :)
#20
he was hit 'n' missy - perfect for manic city

CONFIRMED - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/8149488.stm

Incidentally, today's result

Orlando Pirates 2 - 0 Man City

With all the attacking talent they have, they had Shay Given playing up front!? :w00t:

Blimey - good bit of business there by Wenger. Adebayor hasn't really looked interested for a while.

Be interesting to see how Hughes keeps Santa Cruz, Robinho, Tevez and Adebayor happy next season.

Then they're going to do very badly next season.

Mark Hughes isn't the type of manager to play that formation either.
#25
Don't forget Bellamy and Caicedo as well
#26
Quite a lot of games last season, he played 1 up top, normally Caicedo with Robby left, SWP right, Ireland being Ireland, De Jong and Kompany holding, flat back 4 and a goalie :)

With what he has now, he really is spoilt for choice but i am not sure he is the manager to manage them all, egos are not.

Being serious, i fear we could implode yet, City being City, who know's what could happen lol

-----------Adebawhy ---------
-----------Robin Hood ---------
Petrov Ireland Barry SWP
Bridge Dunne Onahoua Richards/Zabby Lad
---------- Given ---------------------

Thing is, that's a joke, since that leaves, De Jong, Kompany, Elano, Tevez, Bellamy, The Boj, Caicedo, Benji and Lord knows else on the bench or in the reserves
#27
Its going to be chaos at City if they carry on like this.
#28
Chaos seems a bit harsh lol but for sure, a sale, loans needs to be sorted. Guess once he knows who's coming/or who he wants depending on your opinion, will determine who will be sold or loaned out
What is doing my 'ead in, is that City have one of THE best Academy's. Jim Cassell is a legend, no question of it in the academy set up. What of the kids? Sturridge went, greedy so and so or not, but Evans may well follow, Hart has gone, albeit Shrewsbury did well for him. I am not sure what the future holds. Ironic the away kit was Orange lol
#29
I'm also delighted he has left and for such a high fee because he really is a waste of space. I also don't think Santa Cruz or Tevez are that great either, if you look at Tevez's scoring record it ain't that great. I think Man City are being very overrated with people saying they will break the top 4, right now I don't think they will even finish top 6 next season. They aren't strong enough defensively in midfield or defence and their strikers are very hit and miss, even Robinho was not consistent at all last season and I think if they do start to play poorly Robinho and certainly Adebayor aren't the type of players that will fight for the team, work harder and try and get the team out of trouble, they tend to play worse and as a result I wouldn't be surprise if City flop and Mark Hughes is sacked next season,
#30
Gee thanks Arsenal Fan :-(
Mind would love to say you're wrong, but can't
I don't want Cruz, too injury prone, Adebayor, too mardy, another Bellamy perhaps. Tevez, i am pleased with. Whilst he won't, might not score many, he's a hard worker and will chase the ball down in the forward area. Only Ireland did that. De Jong will come into his own next season, esp with Barry alongside, nice solid pair in the middle.
Yes back 4 is flaky but as i have said before, give Dunney and Onahoua the chance to play regularly, get an understanding that will help. We played several pairings at centre back, helped no one
Top 4, doubt it, top 6, hope so
#31
I think with the money City have now they could have spent the dosh a bit more wisely, so many players I would have bought instead if I were manager.
I suppose getting certain players to City may be quite difficult when I think about it.
What can you say about Real Madrid though
#32
In City's defence they are signing the best players they can get, they're not really able to get the Kakas, Eto'os or David Villas of this world and the players they have signed have been relatively successful in the Premier League. But to me the team just doesn't look balanced enough and it's going to take time for these new signings to gel and learn how to play together and that might just be time that Mark Hughes doesn't have, the owners are going to want an instant return on their spending and they've already given him a season. City could easily turn into a side that are constantly replacing managers and as a result never able to build into a long term successful team like Wenger at Arsenal or Ferguson at Man United.

As for Chamakh, he really is not a target man and his stats don't exactly inspire confidence. His finishing is also woeful, just like Adebayor. However Henry didn't exactly look like a world beater before he joined and Wenger really does know how to get the best out of players, but I would prefer to see the money from the Adebayor transfer spent on a top class defensive midfielder that will strengten us defensively and allow Fabregas to get forward and play his game. Fabregas was amazing with Flamini next to him but last season he had to cover a lot more and as a result he never hit his top form and then was unlucky with injury. Rosicky came through a friendly today and Eduardo should be fit so I'm really confident attacking wise, Arshavin scored as well and he continues to look world class. If we can just sort the defence out I think we have a real chance next season, but obviously if we suffer badly with injuries again it's going to be tough.

so toure's joining city as well then......
