yet another problem with the samsung tv

after various other problems our samsung lcd tv has decided to let us down again. after corrie lastnight the screen went blank and 'no signal' came up. we watch through freeview as we dont have sky. it comes back for a couple minutes after youve turned it off then goes back to no signal, same goes for trying to watch in analogue. anyone know what could be the problem and roughly how much this will cost to fix? its out of its warranty so cant rely on that

may sound silly but is it not your aerial or the conecter bit that the aerial lead goes into at the back of tele

mine was doing the same and it was the bit at the back

Hi Donna - I think Lil Tiger is right - this could be the weather. We have a wee freeview set in the kitchen and the channels were on and off as well, but seems to have settled (like my Emmerdale when am making dinner!)

dont think its the weather as all the other freeviews are working. we are watching it through the freeview hd recorder at the minute which is running through the same aerial and its working fine through that

ahhhh

another who falls into the trap.

This is what most people believe.

However there is a section of the law that gives you more protection so in other words these 3 year extended warranties etc are all free money for the company.

Section 14(2) Implied Terms -

Section 14: the goods must be of “satisfactory quality” – that is, they should meet the standard that a reasonable person would regard as “satisfactory”. Also, if the buyer says they’re buying the goods for a particular purpose, there’s an implied term that the goods are fit for that purpose.

I have a friend who bought an £800 LG tv.

Comet said no, then once presented with this part of the law they backed down and offered £400 in comet vouchers, pushed further they sent a cheque for the amount.

If it was me, 1800 spend and just over 3 years would see me chase it up.
