British Rail was broken up into franchises and sold off years ago. book through thetrainline.com or with Virgin direct if you will be travelling using a Virgin train.

The main thing that bothers me about public transport is the extremely high prices.
For example a bus to get to the city from my house is more expensive than driving in the car, and the bus takes longer and is less convenient.
If the government wants to encourage us to use public transport, it needs to make it affordable.
In Malaysia, a bus ticket is 20p and you can use that ticket all day on the entire city network in Kuala Lumpur. And to travel from one country to another (more than 300 miles) costs about £10.
The local bus in UK charges about £5.50 for a 40 mile return journey. Ridiculous.

You just wait and see what public services are gonna be like when cut backs in spending start to occur, with the UK pretty much living off borrowed hand to mouth. It ain't gonna be pretty.

How ironic that Jesus came to kick the moneychangers out of the temple, and his so called followers willingly just handed their nations over to them 200 years ago?? AS YOU SOW SO SHALL YOU REAP.

Public Transport in the UK, though very much private is still heavily subsidised by the government, and it's still ****ing inefficient.

Malaysia is a Highly Developed Country, with great governance and infrastructure. Although GDP per capita still lags behind many western countries, standard of living when accounting for national healthcare, quality of services etc, isn't too far behind, especially in the urban areas. 20p isn't anywhere near as much to them as you'd like to think it is.
