oh my god that's crazy x x

He pulled her about by her hair!! Makes me feel ill thinking about it!
#4
You need to add "in seattle" to the header.
#5
How on EARTH did he plead not guilty?!?!
That is absolutely disgusting. Don't know what she did to be in there in the first place, but there was NO need for that.

he punched her twice after she was cuffed and had his knee on her back!!

I have a fifteen yr old.

That man didn't need to do that to that child. He claimed she called him names! If that was her parent or her teacher they'd be in prison for that.

Good job you guys know the back ground on this, could you tell me it please. For all you know she could have just stabbed another child or one of their colleagues.

it's on sky news.

But - going by what we saw there, that looked unprovoked to me

Oh my that is horrid. I know the police are a heavier handed in the states, but there really isnt any thing of that little girl. It makes me feel sick

yeah The American Police officer is Guilty by Video and by the Op.. I think the Op is the one who maintained the British Police are all "Bent ".
#12
maybe the girl is part of a gang who attacked the officer in questions sister or cousin? whilst he clearly did something wrong, there may be a reason for it that makes it more understandable.

You're incorrect dog_cop. I have never said that" british police are all bent" I don't use stereotypes about people. That video speaks for itself.

I think that a police officer much like a doctor or a teacher is in a position of trust. It doesn't matter if she called him a "pig" or whatever. He's a grown man and she's a child. He weighs maybe twice her weight. He didn't need to use that much physical force to restrain her. He should rise above it and do his job impartially.

Images are communication as much as words are. They tell us what is happening, how it is happening. We can SEE what he is doing.

its two diamentional video your not there and your making assumptions and the way you worded your title implies you cant trust police in general.. even though you knew its was an American Police offcer, no doubt you did that to mislead those on here ..
#18
Wow, didn't realise people would make conclusions on something with half the facts. I could play 100 videos from Road Wars (or similar) which would show "police brutality" on their own, but only because you wouldn't see what came before it.

I am not saying that the police officer was right or wrong, I am saying you can't say either way from the video alone - or the text that Sky has decided to include.

Aren't the courts supposed to be the ones dishing out the punishments?
NOTHING can make what is seen MORE understandable...............................................................
Unless the same rules apply to everyone i.e if a Gang / Gang member attacks someone then the other persons sympathisers should retaliate..........................................
Wait..................... isn't that Gang Warfare?

I assume you mean " you are" not there or "you're". YOUR denotes belonging. Your "implication" for that is?

Are you suggesting there are no cases of police brutality in the UK?

He's clearly not, your thread title is misleading. Your suggesting that all police can't be trusted instead of one policeman in Seatle. Unless thats your intention of course.

In a moment of clarity it came to me of what your about, find something that relates to the police, poor scorn on them, blame them for brutality when you dont even have the facts, post it on here and sit back and wait.....
Your nothing more than the worst type of Troll

What we know from that video is what we can see.

It isn't the place of an individual officer to assault a child.

If she has done something wrong, they still need to treat her with dignity and fairness.

"Officers claim the girl called them "fat pigs" and other obscenities."-Sky news

It doesn't matter what she says in that sense, it doesn't deserve or merit a physical punishment. He didn't need to use all that force to restain her. A 15yr old girl would be terrified just to be locked in a cell by herself. You can see she is standing by the door waiting for them to open it when he comes inside and immediately attacks her.
#25
it doesn't matter what she did, when in custody the police are obligated to keep you safe, not beat up children.

The video specks for itself are you really that bias he had no right to do this and you know it just goes to show what we have to put up with and to go not guilty is a joke he will get his comeuppance.

Name calling is necessary in your mind? Pity you can't debate without resorting to personal bickering.

I dont need to I pointed out the title was misleading ands have others but you resorted to picking up on my grammer, will those who cast the first stone etc .. and I dont wish to debate with some do gooder that has no idea of the violence that officers have to deal with on a day to day basis. anyway Its sunday, sunny and I have no wish to waste my time with you or your kind, please feel free to sned me a resume of my gramatical mistakes and I will edit them later

Yes I should have used an objective title. But I have a fifteen year old daughter myself and the video is shocking and upsetting. That ANY man ( or woman ) could do that to a child. Let alone a police officer, someone we should be able to trust to uphold the law.

Im sure that GOOD police officers would not want to work alongside those who abuse the powers the job entrusts them with.
#31
Title changed to reflect the actual incident and topic of this thread.

Discussion is fine, please don't make personal insults against each other. Thanks.

If you do not wish to debate with me then why are you answering my thread? You have no idea what I have experience of. You do not know me.

I have no desire to teach you the basics of English grammar, spelling or punctuation. Should you require further understanding on those points, you'll need to find a teacher for that. If indeed you have already left school.

Do have a very good day.

That's why he got the response from me that he did. Apparently not yet old or emotionally mature enough not to call names. But each to their own opinion :)

May find this video on youtube sometime soon with owned slapped all over it.

Ouchies. Maybe she'll stay off the drugs now?

*edit* Frankly, I wish the police over here could have the power to be that brutal to sort out the scum that seems to be residing in the UK these days. Maybe put a stop to the English gang-culture, eliminate the chav population and maybe, just maybe, give the people who deserve it, a good kicking.

I didn't mean for any personal slight to be taken at the wording of my opening paragraph and I apologise if any was felt. I would never try to undermine anyone who does a good, worthwhile and helpful service to people and I accept that many people in the world try and do just that. Not just policemen but everyone from childcarers to care workers to hairdressers to doctors, opticians and lawyers. Anyone we have to TRUST with our lives and those of our children, has my respect and gratitude.

There are unfortunately within any services that contain an essence of power over others, those who feed off this power and treat others without respect and tolerance. Those people deserve a harsher punishment because they ARE in a position of trust.

As I have said I am sure that any GOOD police officers would not wish to work alongside those who treat individuals unfairly and without compassion and kindness as they serve as poor ambassadors for the service of others.

I know no parent here would wish to have their 15 year old daughter treated like that police officer in the video assaulted that poor girl.
