Went to view a house i really liked the look of today, it's "supposed to be empty" it looked imaculate from the photos and its in a nice part of town. Got there and no one arrived to show me round so i sat outside in the car thinking they had been delayed. after 10mins i noticed a window open upstairs so off i go to knock on the door again, out peers a young male, followed closely buy a young female. Anyhow, the door opens and i say hi, i've come to look around...blank stare "are you the owner" i say...nope says the young lad i just rent it. "oh i say" followed by a silence and blank stares as we both figure out what to do.
well says the young lad after a minute, ermmm.....( and he looks very sheepish) you can come in if you like but its a bit messy it was my 21'st and we had a party last night ( i think he thought i was there to complain at first) So in we go....OMG....Messy was an understatment. There had been a BBQ outside AND inside, there was a motorbike was 'parked' in the hallway. There were pots of sand with dumps in everywhere and that "strange" smell in the air
the lovely cream walls had black smudges all over them ( god knows) off we go into the kitchen to be greated with an asda trolly. as if this wasnt enough, the young lad, trying to be accomodating takes us upstairs to show us the bathroom very nice, it was still white and in one piece. i look into the doorway of the4 main bedroom ( the only one with a door open) to be greated by the sight of a girl huddled behind a duvet. ummm says the lad sheepishly again, sorry i cant show you those rooms there are people in there. My mother is now in hysterics (laughing) and i'm just in shock. the place was trashed. My god he had had a good birthday. So mr X if you read this ( unlikely though it is) You sure know how to party lol

I thought my mum was going to be horrified but she just couldnt stop laughing and the poor lad was looking so sheepish. Goodness knows how many people were crammed into those bedrooms lol

I'd have been very interested had it been the way it looked in the photos. Had mine valued today and just waiting for mortgage advice now.

ah sounds like the classic 'we dont want to be turfed out so we'll make this place unsaleable' trick to me! worked a treat by all accounts then!

Yep could well be.

Its always difficult with lived in houses as you had to see past the cosmetic stuff which can be changed with a load of skipping and some paint, very cheaply!

Structural damage, location and size are very important mind.

Mad story though bella

You sure you went to the right address?

Of course i did lol, the owner decided to let it without telling the estate agent. Or informing the Tennant that anyone was coming to view. I wonder if he even knew it was for sale lol
#15
Well if they've let it they they probably can't sell it anyway. Most likely got a 6 month tenancy agreement on it.

Sod it, buy my house

Indeed, very foolish. he's not going to sell the place if he has tennents there for a year
If it was 6mths you might be inclined to think about it if you felt it was the right house for you. I need to move faster than that unfortunatly

Well I was supposed to have somebody come round for a viewing this morning. Half an hour after they were supposed to be here the agent called and said they had looked at a property with the same layout (they're all pretty much the same in this area) and it wasn't 'suitable' for the buyer. Good luck to them then because they wont get what they want with their finances, not in this area anyway :giggle: Did **** me off though as I waited in all morning for them :x Could have gone up the inlaws and fixed their mates car instead, now i've got to go thursday.

Anyway, what you mean too far??!!? I've recently been looking into relocating to Cumbria (god help em if I do lol). Have an urge to live near a decommissioned power station :-D
