hey guys

i am after you opinions on this thread

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/477292/f-s-brand-new-nike-trainers-uk-size

basically i sold these trainers 2 weeks ago on here and posted them on the 17th sept they were delivered today, now the op agreed to pay by 12noon for postage the same day,he later pmd me to say he couldnt pay until 330pm,which was actually 3.45pm,thus i couldnt post the same day,i also pointed out i work away from home, cut a long story short i posted on the 16th sept and they were delivered to day,i posted 1st class recorded but due to postal strike they were late being delivered,i contacted mods to inform of situation and also posted this in the thread, today i contacted a mod to inform the trainers had arrive and got the reply i have posted in post 1......i cant see what rules i have broked, sent the buyer loads of pms, contaced mods to inform of situation, but i get spoken to like i am some kinda school kid by a jumped up mod,why cant they just mod the site instead of thing he is god...this has really annoyed me

On RM's site, what does the tracking say ?
#4
Hi,

I've asked the buyer for their comments, prior to giving you clearance to resume trading.

Just for the record, your attitude in the thread was way below expectations. Bluntly dismissing concerns/obligations due to 'life away from here' will not be tolerated.

I'll be in touch.

Regards

reply by pm i got from mod after informing the trainers had been delived .....as he requested

Stephen25uk, from what I have read you have acted fairly and honestly, cant be helped if the posties are on strike yet again, they should sack the lot of them and replace them with the unemployed who want a job.

Thanks heavens my business doesn't rely on the post.

Stephen25uk,

You had outstanding issues on your trade. Your excuse about having a life away from HUKD didn't take into account this post *. Your priority should have been with the existing dispute. I've not looked for any other posts, this one was enough to show you that it's better to quote the whole story when posting an anti mod thread.

You are still restricted from fs/ft until I'm happy that the buyer confirms receipt of goods.

*Claims to have been away during this period - see OP for existing thread.

I don't see what the op has done wrong

He posted the trainers, informed the buyer why they were late posting, and gave a tracking #. Is it really the OP's fault royal mail is useless?

Since when has the mods ever got involved in a dispute anyway, they only ever say "contact us and we will look into it"...

And seriously what has that post go do with a ban :| ... thats in a "deal" :w00t:

The seller claimed to be away (having a life) until the 19th in the original thread. The 'deal' link proves otherwise.

A reminder to all that it's the sellers responsibility to ensure goods get to the buyer. Ignoring communications and requiring mod intervention is not good practise.

Hope this is now clear.

#18
RM state goods aren't classed as "missing" until 15 working days have elapsed, until that time regardless of whether the OP was online or not, tracking info was provided so there was nothing else the OP could have done.

If 15 days is required by RM for customers to wait then i don't see why a buyer on HUKD should be treated any differently.

Why would it require mod intervention until the 15 working days have elapsed though, the OP isn't a miracle worker.

Impatient people and over zealous mods aren't a good combo.

'Having a life away' is not the same as claims to be away. If the buyer had sent PM's which have been read but not responded to then that wouldn't really be on, but I'm not sure how the post you highlighted shows that the seller was even aware there was a dispute?

Not noticing somebody has replied to a thread is not ignoring communications. Not noticing you have received a PM is not ignoring communications either - surely the buyer could have contacted by phone anyway...

By your reckoning it was ok for the seller to ignore comms for a much longer period, even though they have been on the site ?

Ignoring comms is not a good sign. Sellers have obligations, ignoring comms, even if not intentional, is not satisfactory.
#22
The OP provided a tracking number and date of posting, other than that what else could he do or tell the buyer until the 15 working days had elapsed, fair enough it might be annoying to be "ignored" but if that's the biggest crime the OP committed then he should be cut some slack.

RM are useless and the buyer was told they were posted and had a tracking # so what else could they do

I used to sell all my goods on here, but now i won't .... the rules are now so stupid its unbelievable ...

But the obvious sellers who buy to sell on at a profit in the FS forum are allowed to continue, that's the biggest laugh of all and then sellers like the OP get into trouble over a lack of comms:roll:

So many rules contradict others, the mods contradict each other .... it's mayhem policing the fs board

I know of a few that do break the rules that get away with it, but the ones who are honest and try to do good get hit for it.

I used to browse only the fs/ft but now won't even go near it. and thats coming from a long time member

its mainly the mods fault but also the twits that abuse the system

Be constructive if you want action. Point to inconsistencies rather than bland general sweeping statements. It does help.

well where do i start

Not allowed to sell "free" laptops from contracts but can sell "free" phones from a contract. It's the same thing :w00t:

The bumping system is flawed beyond belief. You can't respond to a question as it's a bump :?

The fd/ft used to have hundreds of new threads a day, now its the same regurgitated (spelling?) stuff.
People keep relisting the stuff they haven't sold.

I'm not just picking on the mods, some of the rules brought in have been for the good, but there are so many inconsistencies between the rules, it's easier to get an infraction than it is to sell an item.

I've reported in the past to no avail,so now i don't waste my time.

I've said it before, but there would be less problems if NO new goods were sold, just used, then there would be less profiteering.

but isn't the idea, to make it a safe trading area for members of the forum. Yes it needs a lot of policing but if the mods used their noggins and sung from the same hymnsheet then it would work (in theory)

Avforums has it done to a tee

It's the same everytime. People aren't constructive and rant.

The only time i've seen changes is from sensible discussion. I also don't get why the mods get the abuse and not Admin?

At the same time...........i'm a firm believer in if it doesn't suit then use eBay. That's what i do with most of my stuff and get more after fees than i would here anyway. :)

think that's the way it's going, but people will lie / just break the seal just to sell them item

Too many people purchase deals on a "spur" of the moment then try to sell it on when the price goes back and, and they try and make a few ££ in the process

Most trades are conducted in a smooth fast flowing manner. You're trading history is a good example. of how to conduct yourself.

I don't know, but in this case it was a mod who intervened and in my humble opinion there was no need to as the OP had done everything they could bar answering a few pm's, considering the postal strikes and the good feedback of the seller then mod intervention would only have been needed AFTER 15 working days had elapsed.

But i'm going around in circles now,so i'll be quiet:whistling:

Mods deal with trade disputes, most often informed by one of the parties involved. You still only have one side of the story, so perhaps better reserving judgement till you hear the other.

I'm sorry i don't pander to people and call everyone love and hun(no personal offence to those that do)but that's not me,i tell it the way i see it.

I foolishly thought reporting something should be done "properly" not finger pointing in the forum.
