Thanks we hid the cables by using an angle grinder to make channels in the walls, was a dusty job but neat.

How the hell did you manage to hide all the cabling?

It's a fairly new house and i managed to feed the cables though a hole in the plaster board behind the plasma and the glass shelving it was a bit tricky and did have to make a third hole inbetween the 2. Power comes down below behind the glass fire. It was trickier than i first thought but now it is finished it was worth the effort.

It's not that high up we find it is a the perfect height for us.

Ours also looks high and when people see pics of it they ask the same question, but we have never had an issue with it.
Ours is higher again, no issue.
