I think NVidia cards(I assume its Nvidia) still dont have audio out through HDMI only ATI cards do, it means you would need a cable from something like headphone/line out to your tv set.

nooooooooooooooooooo!!!

i think i have read that you get some cable with some cards that allows you to do audio via the dvi > hdmi adaptor. but my card has hdmi built in....

do all hdmi cables support sound?

I believe so, the easiest way is to get an Ati card as then its just a simple connection to the hdmi out and you have sound, or plug the bit in that normally comes with the card into the dvi slot to make it HDMI and you have sound.

Order a surround sound system just in case the card is wrong:whistling:

Well first off this is not a gaming card. This is the low end card. Its main advantages are that it has native decoding for HD video so to take the load off the processor as it's low profile and fan free it makes for a good card for a HTPC.

As for your power supply while 255w is very low for a Q8400 system the most important figure is the available amps on the 12v+ line. You should look to a figure of about 80% of that figure. So say your 12v+ line is 18Amps then you should be looking to use upto 14.5Amps. Your system will probably be running around the 12Amps presuming your not overclocking anything. The Ati card mentioned here will require another 2 so thats about as far as you can go with that PSU.

As for gaming cards you need to look for Ati HD4670 or Nvidia 240GT upwards.
