ZOOMBITS.CO.UK SCAM

I appeared to have been scammed by zoombits.co.uk.

I placed an order about 4 weeks ago and after 2 weeks had no item. I emailed them and they said "oh yea we dont have that in stock". I asked for a refund and they said they would refund me. I had an email saying it would be back with me within days to my paypal account. Its been over 9 days and still nothing. I emailed them again and they said that they sent my oney back to me 8 days ago, into my paypal. This is a lie as i have checked.

I have looked into my payment details in relation to the zoombits transaction and when you pay zoombitsco.uk the money seems to be redirected to a hotmail account. Which doesnt seem legit at all for a big company.

I have lodged a complaint with paypal and want my money back!

never had a problem with them myself-sounds like poor customer service rather than a "scam"

I am still waiting for my hard drive that I ordered on 3rd jan.
I think they are just inept, not scammers.

but for a "legit" company to re-direct all of its funds to a hotmail acount is pretty shady if u ask me

I have recently purchased a hard drive and it was my first time purchase from this site. The transaction went smoothly. The hard drive was delivered within 3 days of placing my order. It is unfortunate that your "subserviantdude" transaction did not go though smoothly. But after my experience, I recommended the site to my friends and colleagues. A few of them used it with no problems.

The company can redirect their funds to any account they want. And possibly the hotmail account would be a paid account. So i don't think its a scam.

Well it is difficult to say whether its a scam or not. Its about your own judgment and experience that can help you come to a conclusion.

nice, now go and refund him his money

first time buying something from the site you say? you seem to write alot of articles advertising and recommending zoombits, why tell people to use a company that you've never used yourself? hmm??

    hey everyone.

Stephenmorphey oviously works for the company.

Zoombits is a total sham. Zoombits customer service email address (questions@zoombits.co.uk) is now bouncing back all of my emails. Either its down or they have blocked my email address.

They have basically stolen my money. I have lodged a dispute with paypal but that says it will take around 30 days to complete. And theres no actual gurantee i'll ever get my money back.

I will never be using zoombit ever again.

Any advice on what i can do to get my money back? if paypal dont give it back

Ive placed a few orders with them over the last few months and had no problmes at all. I did get am email saying that they have moved wharehouse and it may effect my delivery. This may have something to do with the problems people are having.

I'm going to phone them again tomorrow and see what they have to say. I seem to get lots of automated emails from them with conflicting information.

I had an email 2 weeks after i asked for a refund saying my item was being dispatched shortly.

    Never again.

What a spaz, why would he use his real name? Even if it is an Alias why use the same alias?

and this company is the same as memory bits, look at the domain whois.

just to add to the dodgyness, try going to memorybits.com and you will see it redirects to memorybits.co.uk

Then we look uk the WHOIS entry for memorybits.com

interesting what does companies house have to say about this.

    Name & Registered Office:

    120-124 TOWNGATE
    LEYLAND
    LANCS
    PR25 2LQ
    Company No. 06027779

ooh whats this, maybe they are different companies with the same name by a startling co-incidence both based in Lancashire?

And how is this memory bits ltd doing now?

    Status: Dissolved 12/05/2009

    ooh not so good.

    and memorybits new address?

    MemoryBits International Jersey Ltd
MemoryBits House, La Route de Quennevais

This company has obviously been dissolved and moved to jersey to continue it's poor business practices. I would stay well clear of them.

I spoke to them on the phone earlier and the person was still claiming i was refunded 2 weeks ago (which i wasnt).

The person kept telling me to check my bank account. I had to tell the person about 5 times that i paid via paypal and that any refund would go back into my paypal account and not to my bank account.

I didnt get anywhere at all. The person took my number and said they would call me back. I highly doubt that they will be calling me back. Will phone them again tomorrow afternoon.

I'm still hoping paypal will pay me the money back. But according to the paypal dispute system, paypal has contacted zoombits and is waiting for them to reply. Its been 4 days since paypal contacted them. So i guess they dont want to reply to even paypal.

About 2 hours after they gave me my money bak i had an email from zoombits saying oh were sorry we thought we paid you back weeks ago. The liars! they just wanted to hold onto my money until paypal forced them to give it back.

I ordered a HD from this company on the 16th of January, got a dispatched email on the 20th. To date, still no hard drive. And they refuse to do anything about it until the 9th of February. So personally, I'd avoid at all costs. I know of other people having problems getting refunds aswell.

Every time I called customer services I'd be on hold for ages and it would suddenly end the call. Over and over again. I spoke to one of the live chat people, and they turned around and said we can't help you until it's been 15 working days from dispatch, and ended the conversation. I then spoke to someone else on live chat who when I asked said no managers were around because they were in a meeting all day. I said I wanted to speak to a supervisor and she said I'd have to call, so I called, gave her my number of live chat and the supervisor picked up my call. When I said about a manager she said it was his day off. Hmm conflicting stories here. But anyway, she refused point blank to do anything. She said 'if I liked you I could put it in for a refund, but they still wouldn't do it, it's not been long enough'. So instead I have to wait until the 9th of February to see whether this is a completely inept company or a scam. Either way, think trading standards will be getting a call from me.

    ezinearticles.com/?ex…hey

If you take a look, at the end of each article, by Stephen Morphey, it says "If you're looking for more information such as duracell rechargeable and all the energizer lithium needed, check out my website http://www.zoombits.co.uk/"

Let me point out it says MY website, so obviously involved somehow. Still trying to deny involvement? Hmmm.

I placed an order for a USB HDD, and was expecting dispatch the next day as promised. A week later nothing. I contacted them by e-mail and nothing, so I used the LiveChat. I was told it would be dispatched separately and that was it. Only when I insisted on knowing when, did "Richard" check. Twenty plus minutes later, I was told they'd stopped selling them, and could I tell them where I saw it. So I pasted a link to their site. There response was it was an old page, and they don't sell them now, and the problem is people are going to their website from other websites - HELLO, this is the web, welcome to the 1990s - and I explained that was quite normal, asking if anyone checked these,or would they just have held onto my money if I hadn't chased it? YES, we probably would, I was told. So let's hope I now get the promised refund!!!

AVOID these people. Or suffer, your choice :-)

yea i had the same problem with my order. when they tell you they have given you a refund make sure you check the money has actually gone in because they told me the money had gone in about 10 times and then when i threatened to report them to the police they said oh sorry it appears we havnt paid you back.

i had a similar experience with them, via amazon.

i bought a soundbar, which was defective. i spent a month trying to get them to collect it. they gave me a bunch of dates that the courier didn't turn up, then they stopped replying to my email. eventually i lodged a claim with amazon and got my refund that way. zoombits eventually collected the soundbar, but 3 months later, they are still emailing me to say that they are coming to collect it.

absolute jokers, avoid buying from them at all costs
