Hi All
A couple of days my graphics card went pop, it was a Zotac 8600 GTS 512mb. My motherboard is the ASUS PK5-E, which is quite good, but only has the P35 chipset which is only PCI-E x16 and not PCI-E 2.0. My question to the boffins out there is, can I use a graphics card that is PCI-E 2.0 on

My on board graphic chip stutters slightly on 1080p video.
Can anyone suggest a budget card that will play HD video fine and has a DVI or preferable a HDMI connector.
It needs to be PCI-E, quiet and not need any additional power supply
Cheers

Amazing price for a 4670, probably the lowest ever. The photo was recently changed to show a Powercolor card, although the last batch were Palits so be prepared for either if you order one (but I suspect they'll be Powercolors). Both are great cards and don't need any external power so should be fin more...

I bought one of these last week and was more than impressed. Definetely the best bang for buck graphics card ever released. This wipes the floor with the 9600gt's and outperforms the equivalent ATI's in this price range. Can perform nearly as well as the £200-£300 9800's. In fact I don't know why an more...

Don't vote this cold just because you think the 7200GS is a bad card!
I know it steals your system memory and can't run the latest games...
But - if you need a cheap, passively cooled PCI-E card (like I do for testing a motherboard), then this might do the trick.
PC World have it listed at £34.99
