I usually just use the Virgin Media server, but it only allows you to download things posted within 7 days. The thing I want was posted just over 7 days ago, so isn't accessible.

There are plenty of providers offering a free t more...

Usenet 50GB block account £7.52 with voucher = £0.15/GB @ Newsgroupdirect

FOUND BY: zaheer2003 4 months, 1 week ago

I know Astraweb block account is cheaper if you buy the $25 for 180GB, but for low users their $10 for 25GB is a bit steep.

I found this deal from NewsGroupDirect which is 50GB for £9.40 - using voucher code ngd59285859 gives 20% off making it £7.52 for 50GB. This includes SSL too.

Hi all, i'm starting to dabble in newsgroups after getting a bit sick of torrnt sites where my upload speed makes it impossible to keep a good ratio.

Can someone recommend a good value newsgroup? Currenly on a free trial from hitnews but astraweb seems good at $11 per month unlimited.

Usenet Provider wanted - all suggestions will be repped.

POSTED BY: Zak_K 1 year, 1 month ago

Like many of you on here I'm with Hitnews, I need to renew in a few weeks though and I'm taken to Xen News, a more expensive, cr@pier version of Hitnews. I don't reckon they allow account sharing like Hitnews did either.

So anyways now I'm in the hunt of a new usenet provider. I'd prefer someone wh more...

Usenet provider

POSTED BY: waynehayes 1 year, 1 month ago

Hi. I've been using Hitnews and have been pleased with it. The 100 day retention and connections were fine for my use. I've just tried to renew my subscription, and apparently international users are too expensive. They link to another provider instead: http://www.xennews.com/index.php?id=14

Hitnews changing their prices...

POSTED BY: Zak_K 1 year, 1 month ago

If your a hitnews customer I'm sure your aware that they've upped their prices, on top of the quoted price (12 euros I think) they have an extra charge for the use of SSL.

Just wanted to know who you've gone to (or planning on going to) if your a hitnews customer.

While I'm at it, perhaps someone more...

Looking for a new Usenet provider.

POSTED BY: arcsbite 1 year, 7 months ago

I've not put this in deals as I'm looking more for feedback than offers...

I'm currently with Newdemon and getting a pretty good deal.
I pay $16 a month for 20 connections and unlimited downloads, but the retention is 110days.

A lot of the stuff I'm looking for has fallen off by the time I get to more...

Best usenet supplier in the world. I've used around 8 others, so I can compare :P

Glad to be back with them, most others had an 8mbps cap. This uses my entire 20mbps line.

Usenet is the worlds best way to download anything. Peer 2 Peer (torrents, emule etc) depend on who is uploading to you. Usenet uses server farms, meaning fullspeed downloads :)
