Cheapest I could find the 'home' edition of this range. If you want an external 1TB drive with firewire or the eSATA interfaces then this seems like the best price. Note: if you only care about USB2 then this isn't for you, USB2 only drives are cheaper.

Been using this drive as a backup so it has had little use. Upgraded to 1TD so this is surplus to my requirements. Model number is WD2500KS. It has 16MB cache so would be great for using as a main operating system drive or as a backup drive.

Just got a WD 250 gig passport studio drive for my daughter, which is 'supposed' to be compatible with Vista but formatted for Mac.

I thought it would just be a matter of plugging it in and and reformatting it under visat, but doesn't show up in my computer, but does show up in device manager...
