Hi a friend gave me his laptop to look at it and i found a virus on it,i thought the best thing to do is renstall vista fresh but the problem is he cant find the cd,is there a way for me to find the serial key on it and then download vista and use the original cd key on it?

can i delete any old updates to save my computers memory. i think this latest one is service pack 2 for vista.

hi, just started using Vista and keep getting asked to update with service pack 1? Should I go ahead with this because I remember people complaining about one of the XP service packs

I'm not bothered whether it's Home Premium or Ultimate but it must include SP1 on disk and must be the 64-bit version. It's likely to be used on at least two computers (consecutively) so the retail version at slightly less than twice the price looks like the better deal.

As the title says, I am currently trying to open an Excel document, but can't, and can't find suitable file association in computer to open it. No doubt I will also need to do similar for Word docs.
