I am doing a large amount of travelling by train (or possibly coach) this summer.

What is the best way of getting the cheapest fares?

I generally book in advance and get two singles as opposed to a return. I use thetrainline.com

I always had a problem with my Visa Electron, all these greedy rail operators would refuse to accept it- then I'd have to go to my local train station and buy it. Their messing around meant I missed the cheap train tickets for Glastonbury and I paid £40 more.
