I have been told it is possible to change the CPU on this laptop, and I've seen a number of articles on the web with instructions how to do so.

My problem is where do I buy a new CPU from? There seems to be a few American sites, but can't seem to find any UK sellers.

Am now ready to upgrade major parts of my current system to gaming spec.

Basically, the parts I am looking to change are CPU, Gfx, Ram, Mobo and possibly PSU.

Any ideas on what would make a really good spec for around £400 would be appreciated.

Need one for my new p55 i7 chip, there are two different versions the H50 and H50-1 don't care which as although the -1 includes the 1156 bracket my board allows use of 775 mountings.

My laptop suffers from constant CPU spikes. Even in idle state, it runs at around 40-50%. When I use a browser, it shoots up to 100%. I've tried IE, FF, Opera, K-Meleon, and the problem persists.
