They have 3 TV's and are not huge watchers but would like a recording function (used to have recordable freeview)

I am assuming their best 'deal' is sky multiroom but I'm a bit confused by all the HD etc.

I have a sky box in my living room, and I want to get a freesat box for my bedroom.

I keep reading I need to hook my freesat box to my sky satilite. Just wondering how to do this and how painfull is it??

Believe this works out slightly cheaper than Richer Sounds if you factor in Quidco.

As for the FOXSAT-HDR, it's a very decent Freesat+ PVR and a good alternative to Sky if you don't happen to like being tied down to a contract.

I've currently got Freesat from sky, the £20 card that goes in an old sky box to give similar channels to Freeview.

I'm looking to upgrade to a high definition satellite source, and would like to be able to record. I've no need for the extra channels of a sky+ suscription and wondered what more...

I am looking for a HD freeview box that does not come with any contract. I have done a small trawl of the net, but various forums made matters worse.

Could someone, please advise on a very straight forward system that can be bought off the shelf and self installed.

Just a heads up really to all those people who are thinking about buying a second hard sky card (blue with yellow house). Don't, these are changing and these blue ones will stop working very shortly. Every 5 years or so, Sky replace these cards.
