I suppose there are good and bad reviews for it but for the price of a normal padded rucksack with a bit of added safety led features it's not bad ?

Just took delivery of the following Vaude bag - for £20.08 (cheers HUKD). It's in a grasshopper green colour - which is much brighter than the Amazon photos suggests.

It is also a vastly better bag in every regard. Plus, I dare say it is more visible than this Port Design rucksack.

So in short, whichever way you slice it, your deal isn't a deal.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/vaude-jura-24lt-rucsac-ventilated-back-20-81-amazon-2483075

The vaude bag is nice but for me I feel it would be high on the neckline and my bike helmet would prevent me from looking left and right without a bit of a struggle and I ride a lot , so it boils down to personal preference and for me it is a deal and for you it isn't , I use this site a lot & I thought I would give something back as for being part of the ukhd community, I also appreciate your comment too but this and every other deal may be of help someone else even if some don't like it.

Thanks - that's the sort of thing people like to read, rather than just the biased marketing they get anyway when they click on the deal, and is why the details box says this:

"Describe the deal in your own words and explain to members why it is a good deal! Please don't just paste in marketing text or specs"

Interesting product though - thanks for posting it.

Duelling Duck

I used this for the coast to coast last week carrying all my gear for the weekend. Straps are a little thin so when the bag is heavy nips around the chest but my biggest gripe is pull chords which aren't attached to the Zips...so lost half of them (is this a thing? I'm unsure but it's a rubbish thing)
Still a solid bag and very happy with its compact size making the trek a little more bearable.
Yay coast to coast - how many walking days did you do? My group of 14 did it in 12 walking days out of 14 and it was a true test of personalities. I started off with German walking boots that I'd worn at university and never rubbed a single molecule of oil into. At day 2 I with every step I was calculating how much I'd pay for somebody to take me home right that instant, and I was up to about 3 grand - genuinely. Eventually we got to Shap, my blisters burst, we found there were such a thing as blister plasters, I bought proper walking boots and from then on it was wonderful... well except for my friend's Peruvian wife who wondered why we just walked, eat, booze, sleep - do it again??! And it was her 30th birthday during the trip. She wanted a lasagne at this one pub we were staying at and I swear they just scraped the top off a shepherd's pie and put a sheet of pasta on top. One sheet. She ended up crying. It was so horrible for her but for all us lads it was great we were playing darts (I won!) and drinking honest ale in real good old geezer pubs. The Coast to Coast is awesome.

Can I come next time? Sounds great!

1.9KG? Ouch. If weight is a concern, you can buy a lot lighter for only another £20 or £30.

You appreciate that £20 or £30 more is 'only' over 100% or 150% more than the price here, right...?
I'd never buy a cheap pack, the harness systems are invariably poor making that one you've got a few kilos in it, you'll feel it and it'll soon become very uncomfortable, if not painful.
But hey, if this is just to stuff a few things in for a festival, or the furthest it's ever going to be carried is from the car park to your room, then go right ahead. Each to their own.

So for more than twice as much...
Not many weight concerned hikers would buy a £18 Bergen tbh

Bag received. Looks and feels like a quality bit of kit. It's a far more vivid shade of green than in the Amazon photos (which I prefer) - and also comes with a red rain cover that is housed in a pouch at the bottom of the bag.
A nice upgrade on my previous Berghaus 24/7 bag.
Glad you like it. Yes def good quality stuff, most of the Vaude stuff on the Amazon.de site is much more.

Anything smaller and you wont get much shopping in. You can use the side straps to shrink its size. Yes, its more expensive, but i don't think you will regret it once you use it, normal price for this one is around £80, so still a big discount. Reviews belowjj

Looking for a decent i suppose backpack for getting a decent shop in on my mountain bike and chucking it on my back then travel home would this sort of thing be suitable for that and is 24lt in the world of backpacks big?
I would personally recommend pannier bag(s) vs a rucksack. 24 litres is a decent size though (a multi day hiking rucksack tends to be around 60 litres by comparison)
Yeah i dont want all that extra frame permanently attached to the bike hence it has to be a backpack of sorts.

I bought the same bag the other week from Sports direct when it was on offer and would never buy it again, I needed it to carry a camera or 2 and quadcopter using the bungee system on the back for a few days and it did what I needed but if I was looking for a bag to walk/hike with then I wouldn't buy this. the padding on the back is just that, makes the bag more comfortable to carry and prevents the bag contents digging in to your back but it compresses and doesn't work for airflow resulting in a sweaty back. the carry strap at the top of the bag is very narrow so if you have weight in there don't even think about using the carrying strap. I have had Berghaus bags in the past and if it wasn't for the name on the bag I would not say it was a berghaus bag if you get what I mean.
You are right. This ''super'' Airflow system is just bit of foam-ish fitting, and if you load bit more it's just uselless. On other side, this bag is from better material then vango for a similar money. It's fairly waterproof (my bottle opened inside and I found it only on end of trip) it quiet durable too. One year of daily use and still looks good. But this is really town-ish bag. I prefer Freeflow rucksack for outdoor.

Why not just for your nephew?

My boy is a bit big for these now but some good prices for school.

Depends how you look at it?.

Have of any/all 'Collectors Items' around the World of ANYTHING, is via Adults regardless right?, and more rarely by the Youngsters and the like? (even today!), you'd be surprised? (collected by Adults, traded back to Adults, etc, etc?).

So if the Adults are more than happy to enjoy them in some way/somehow, then this in my opinion should be a piece of cake for the Youngers too, huh?. :-)

That's my 2 Cents anyway ...

My head hurts trying to work out what you mean - I'm sure it's insightful, as you often are!
