Booked! thanks! €804 for 7 days from 26th august all in. Premium 3 bed cottage. Free location choice - actual cottage picked from the map. 3 free activities still to book!
This is much cheaper than i paid last year for 4 days!
Next time check the european sites as they are usually even cheaper (for example centerparcs.be is 762 euro) others may be even less .be .fr .de .nl
Sounds good, but I think I would rather pay the extra €40 to make the booking in english - my French etc is not good at all :)
First you sign up in the .com site, then you browse in the .be site, then at point of payment you log (at prompt) in using your .com details and hey presto its all in english, except the price...

Noted! Thanks :)

Center Parcs Half Term Autumn 2016 for Wales schools £379.00

Who's up for planning ahead a little? England and Wales schools have their Autumn half term on different weeks in 2016. 4 nights in Center Parcs during England's half term (24th October) is over £1…

That's very nice of them
Carmarthenshire have changed there dates to align with England.
fresia
Unified dates! Haha
This is so they can also start to raise money through fines for parents who have no alternative but to take a holiday during the term time. Wales currently don't fine, but are also planning to introduce it from next year as far I understand.
The staggered dates allowed some parents the chance to save a bit of money (which is in short supply for working families) Shame they are planning this,

Don't blame the education system because CenterParcs is an expensive holiday

The taxpayer cost of absent pupils taking unauthorised holidays during term-time far exceeds the proposed fines imposed. So they're not 'raising money' in any shape or form - education fines arent speed cameras fines.

The warning system and penalties are being imposed because state-funded education simply had enough of large chunks of children missing from classes, affecting their progress, undermining school results and lowering the morale of teachers, who are left helping little Johnny catch-up on the curriculum after two weeks in the Algarve, whilst the other children who were in attendance lose out on that teachers time.

All holidays are luxury, non-essential purchases. Some can afford regular ones. Some can afford the occassional one. Some can afford lots of extravagant ones. Others take cheap ones. That's life - its the same with other purchases - cars, clothes, food. I have two children in state education and have the utmost respect for the teachers and governors involved, as I see genuine value at work for my taxes. Its not there to be abused, its there for my childrens futures.

Just got back - had a great break - call me 'tight' if you want - but spent less than 100 euros all week - took my own food - BBQ every night!!! - Lidl + Aldi just within 10 min of the park - so got fresh salad / bread and wine etc..
People even OK to take their own Cans of beer / pop / sandwiches etc.. in cooler box's inside the Dome.
Not sure if they allow this in UK CP's but could be wrong??

Agree about Woburn. Just had a different feel about it. Very hilly too. We went the 2nd week it was open and it was all lovely and new but once that appeals worn off, there's not much to go back for. Some may like it, but we prefer Elveden and Longleat. Would like to give a foreign one a go, thanks for deal. x
Hilly? This is a holiday based on activities and fun, a bit of exercise won't kill you.
Loved our stay at Woburn. Thanks for the post sounds like a good holiday.
We went to CP Erperheide over Easter. For the money it was fine, but it's definitely the smallest CP we've visited.

The pool area was also the weakest one we've visited. Not that many features and the changing area was very cramped. Nowhere near enough family changing rooms.

However, If you have children under 7, the Baluba indoor play area is excellent, and some of the evening entertainment was quite well done.

Overall, the place felt tired and worn out though. But for the money, compared to the elitist, extortionate UK CPs, not worth complaining too hard.

Last year, we did Lac D'Aillettes in France, two hours from Calais. That is superior to Erperheide.

Holland had NINE centerparcs.....

The robbing bar stewards should bring uk prices down first
The UK parcs are a separate company, bought by an investment fund or some such corporate company and just licence the name from the family run Europe company. AFAIK.

We love CP, try to go twice a year... Don't mind the price being higher, keeps out the undesirables and Butlins generally has a higher price hike percentage wise in school holidays (never been, never will) the Sub tropical swimming paradise is huge and free to use and if you pick the right activities at off peak times they're very reasonable.
Thanks for posting this Stacey, I love Center Parcs, but unfortunately cannot take advantage of these prices due to school holidays. For all those people saying it is a rip-off, almost all holiday companies raise their prices in school holiday times, it's not just CP. For us, CP is perfect because we can be at Whinfell in 70 mins from home, where my elderly mother (who doesn't travel well) can enjoy her only holiday of the year. To keep costs down, we don't eat out, we swim, walk, cycle, go to the playgrounds, take our own pond-dipping stuff, look for animals etc. and take advantage of what is included in the price, and maybe have one or two paid activities per holiday. If we all liked the same type of holidays the world would be a boring place. So keep up the good work Stacey, I think you do an incredible job helping people get a holiday.

Why Dave, and several other serial cold voters have it in for me I have absolutely no idea, and to be quite frank, I really do not care. I receive so many messages of thanks not only in the forums but by message each day that it is always worth while. No amount of badgering, pestering or cold votes will make me go away. There have been close to 50 hot votes on this deal and therefore, I know it is helping people irrespective of whether it hits that hot section or not.

Long Live SunshineStacey - Amen :)

Praise the lord! X)

is there really any need to call someone a 'silly cow' for losing their engagement and wedding ring?! honestly some people just don't know when to stay quiet when they're just so NOT funny
I'll wager 'Silly Cow' is extremely tame compared to what Hubby called her when he found out.
sarahpawsey21uk
Who stands and takes a picture like that of you engagement ring funny how you need a picture of you wearing said ring for insurance policy if you loose it
A lot of people take pictures of their engagement rings and things like that, especially because most people have got phones with cameras on these days so its very normal actually
Obviously some find it amusing that this lady lost her ring at Center Parcs.....her husband put a pic of it (which just so happened to have a pack of Kitkats in the frame) on Facebook with an explanation as to what happened and as people visit Center Parcs from all around UK and indeed the world, then his hope was that it might reach whoever took it....highly unlikely but hey, when you are desperate and youve explored all obvious avenues, you'll try anything!

Obviously the OP found it soooo amusing he/she had to put this post on here and call her a silly cow!

Just thought I'd ask - and try to keep on topic - how well do these burn? It's my understanding that these are compressed wood shavings, don't they fall apart whilst burning? I haven't had a proper log fire burning in our hearth in over 15 years now, I do miss the ambiance, but not the cleaning! Last holiday (without the kids) had a proper inglenook fireplace and all the logs you could burn - ah bliss! I'd love to holiday @ Centre Parcs - but I find it hard to justify the cost (I could get to DisneyLand Paris for a similar outlay!)
r40 - you seem to have it lucky - plenty of free wood! Do you use something like this to make your own paper logs? Thats on special atm - perhaps I should post it as a deal!
we get these for Center Parcs all the time. I pay around £1 for pack of 2 in Home Bargains (£5 for pack of 2 at Center Parcs).

Thanks for the responses guys
These logs dont last very long tbh

just come back from a week at Center Parcs and judging by the number of kids there I don't think many people worry about whether it's a school holiday or not :(

My missus and me never worried about taking our children out of school during term time, once a year.
We ALWAYS asked for premission to remove them in order that we could take a holiday. Other than this the children had a good attendance record, so we didnt feel guilty at all.

I think that the school only once complained.
I wrote in reminding them that quite a few children were removed from school before the Christmas holidays started and did not return until the second or even third week of term in January.
They then agreed to my request to remove our children for our holiday
Job done!

great deal but we're back at school on 4th Jan
Voted hot as this is an excellent deal for those with children in schools with a late return in Jan 2012 - unfortunately my local authority dates are the same as the rest of the UK.
We had always thought CP was overpriced but we took the plunge several years ago now and generally go for a break each year. We are probably not one of their biggest spenders as we generally take all our food and drink and self cater. Also we don't do all the extra expensive activities. We take our own bikes and my children are happy to cycle, walk and swim. Also it is a few hours up the road with very little hassle getting there. We always arrive on the first day at 10 am and leave on the last day late pm - to ensure that we get our money's worth!
My children all say CP is their favourite holiday destination - even over and above Florida! (Not at all cheap despite using airmiles etc - that's another post tho'........)

Hi there,

We went to a Forest Holiday Silver Birch cabin last year, we left after 2 nights - it was filthy, the toilets were totally disgusting, there was a filthy mop in the cupboard stinking the whole hall out, there was someones sock under the bed, blood on the sheets in the kids room. Hairs in the freezer and a toenail on the dining room chair, there is more but I'd best leave the moaning there!! When we told the Manager, he got a team in to clean it from top to bottom even after the massive clean (during which time we had to vacate our cabin for a whole day) it was still disgusting when we went back in. So we left.

I wouldn't recommend at any price. Sorry.

Just new here today, sorry if this post is 'inappropriate' in anyway, I just wanted to make people aware of the trouble I had - it was in Strathyre.

Clearly other people are recommending it and I am only one person with one bad experience - I probably shouldn't have said anything at all.

Apologies.

Hi

We just got back home from Strathyre and our cabin, a Golden Oak wasn't particularly clean either. Luckily, one of the cleaners happened to be in our cabin just after our arrival to put up a mirror that was on the floor and happened to have a cloth on her so was able to clean up the sticky sweet I had just stood on on the kitchen floor which must have been there for some time as it took her ages to get it all up, otherwise that would have been my job, and not a great start to a relaxing holiday! We did get some towels a few hours later as they had forgot to put some in. Two pillows were ripped with the stuffing coming out and the smell of the place wasn't too great. Luckily I had packed 2 scented candles, which I would recommend doing.

........... will write some more later when unpacked

Even worse if you are a teacher and never have a chance to take advantage of "cheaper" prices. Much cheaper outside of the UK if you can get there.

I swap cheap holidays for three months a year holiday!
Golaboots888;6759702
Whats wrong with raising the prices for peak season? No one MAKES people book it at those prices.

It's not the actual raising of the prices that we're complaining about, moreso the amount that they raise them by takes the michael. I understand the basic law of supply and demand means that school holidays are always going to be more expensive but not 360% FFS!

I've got no time for bad parents who hardly ever send their kids to school but you can't blame the ones that send them to school the whole year round then take them on holiday the last week of term while the prices are still cheap. If the government are serious about parents not taking their kids out of school for holidays then they should do something against there companies chasing extortionate prices.
lurrve CP!
Taksim_Red;6758687
Is that before the 300+% school holiday price increases or after?

Even worse if you are a teacher and never have a chance to take advantage of "cheaper" prices. Much cheaper outside of the UK if you can get there.
Whats wrong with raising the prices for peak season? No one MAKES people book it at those prices.

Incidentally if you go to the one in Elveden forest (well it is Thetford Forest really) there's a Sainsburys just up the road toward Norwich, rather than the overpriced 'supermarket' on site.

If you head toward Brandon from the main entrace there are a couple of fantastic cycling tracks in the woods on your right.

Spent last week there... was very nice!! Got upgraded to the Ramsey Lodge which was a nice bonus! Thanks to the OP! + rep
The 50% off 'loyalty' deal has been extended until the 7th Oct...am tempted to book up...

I looked at a 2 bed lodge, about £329 after the discount for the easter half term 4 night mid week...not bad considering Centerparcs want over £800 for a 2 bed for the same date...

Don't think you'll get any deals for the school hols as good as this, like you said, supply and demand
Thanks for that but saw it too late.Even half price their original school holiday prices are very high. This half term currently £825 for 4 berth accomodation but £99 for same the week before - talk about supply & demand! Has anyone seen what their prices go down to last minute in the school hols? Would like to know if there is any hope of this as otherwise I could miss other last minute deals while holding out for this to no avail!

Does anyone know how much they discount hols in half term periods if at all? Would love to go but tied to school hols & can't afford normal prices.

LOYALTY09 will get you 50 percent off a break in 2010 (off brouchure prices)
Thats the good news.

The bad news is that you need to book by the end of the day (offer ends 30th sept - needs to be booked and paid by today)

John

Whinfell Bella italia did not accept vouchers last week. They are currently running an offer of free meals for children and said that they are not accepting the vouchers because of this
An update on the Tesco voucher situation for Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge.

We have just got back from Whinfell today and I can tell you that regardless of what the terms and conditions say, both restaurants accept the vouchers. They can be used for eat-in and takeaway aswell. Also, it doesn't matter which ones you use in whichever restaurant, Bella italia is labelled by an 07 only, and Cafe Rouge 08, either are accepted in either restaurant.
For anyone that might have been before, Bella Italia now only opens from 4pm except arrival day (Monday and Friday). This means Cafe Rouge breakfasts only on the other days. Never mind though, we found that Cafe Rouge accepted the vouchers for non-alcoholic drinks, so coffee/teas are inclusive.

Free food all week:-D

Scotland now takes Easter holidays on the first two weeks of April.
If Good Friday and Easter Monday falls outwith these dates,we get these off as well.

some english education authorities also now have fixed "spring breaks" in the first couple of weeks of april, no matter when easter falls.
Working up until May now
ianrobertson01;4014398
I never knew Scotland had different easter holidays than the rest of the UK. I always thought that Easter Monday and good Friday were the same all over the UK.

Were any of you aware that it is cheaper to go to the Center Parcs in Holland or Germany? Half price even. We have paid £650 for half term (22 - 29 May) - Fri to Fri to stay at De Kempervennan, Holland, in a 3 bed economy cottage (family of 5). can't tell you how many times we have gone - its a really good one. I refuse to pay the extortionate prices for the UK prices. Eindhoven is the nearest airport but have never flown have always driven on the ferry - dover to calais (about 4 hr drive from calais). Plus cheaper again for over 55 yrs.

We went to De Kempervennen. Staff were very rude, and it was freezing (last Easter). Better facilities than the UK though, and cheaper. But, £1 = €1, now (or nearly), so it's not so cheap as it was, and there's no way you'll beat £99. It will cost you that much in petrol to get there, forgetting hotel stay along the way, eurotunnel, etc.
sharlymac;4238423
Were any of you aware that it is cheaper to go to the Center Parcs in Holland or Germany?

Oh, yes  I've been doing that for years. This year it got better:

Some Centerparcs are changing to Sunparks (you'll see this on www.sunparks.co.uk). For us brits that means the inclusion of Sunparks Oostduinkerke aan zee, which is only 38Km from Dunkirk (which, in turn, can be reached on the excellent and cheap Norfolk Lines Ferry). But there's more:

if you click 'Last minute' you'll see that there aren't any last minute deals available at the moment. BUT allez vous ici: http://www.sunparks.be/WL/BE/derniereminute and you'll find midweek and weekend deals from €79 and whole week deals from €269. Do be aware that they add all sorts of charges (some of them removable), so the final booking figure is more likely to end up around £200 for the midweek/weekend and £450 for the whole week.

I just booked a 'standard' cottage for 6 (in French), February half term Mon-Fri for £200. You don't need to be particularly good at French, either!

I hope this helps someone. It's probably not worth posting as a deal on its own - I doubt it would get much heat.

Best wishes, Neil
Elevden Center Parc's are a rip off, you have to pay for everything you use in the place. in the rooms all the light bulbs were blown and they asked me to replace them?????? the radiator gurgled none stop, it drove me made. I wrote to complain so they offered me a 10% discount on a room next time I went, even though I wrote to say I would never go to another Parc as long as I lived, I got a cheque instead for £77...RIP off

voted cold it is not cheap at all

pricey because u still pay for activities there!
still very pricey! but thanks for discounts.
£749 cheapest price I could get for 4 people in 2 bedroom terraced cottage at Whinfell in half term for midweek break.
CODE DOES WORK SO NICE FIND

However a 3 night weekend break at Elveden Forest in october for me the wife & 2 children = £359 & thats with the code + you have got to buy your own food etc

I might be a cheap skate but personaly think thats a rip off - i can get the same amount of nights for the same people with dinner & breakfast inc + use of all lesuire, gym & pool for £300 in a hotel & have a choice of 150 locations to chose from

I understand it may not be for everyone, however we booked Whinfell midweek for £284.00 - 1st week in September for 8+infant - thats good value.

Have you a link to find the type of hotel deal you mention - I would be very interested in looking at that.
