for bright front lights look for likes of Cree XML T6, like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/HawksTech-Bicycle-HeadLight-headLamp-improved/dp/B00P675MX2/ref=sr_1_5?s=cycling&ie=UTF8&qid=1429401017&sr=1-5&keywords=Cree+XML+T6
i have similar one, and it has more than enough light to ride in a full darkness (city/road/park)
you would need 2 of these or more only if riding at night through forest at high speed ...
these lights have 8.4V li-ion batteries, which would die quickly if not from a good source. i changed mine to a pack of 6xAA batteries (got holder for 4£), and its holds for about two weeks (1-2h per day)
Great light for city riding, you want something bigger if you're doing unlit country lanes or MTBing at night though as you'll want more throw but you're easily visible with one of these.

For anyone intrested in bike lights i just picked up a set from lidl, take a look on this aldi brouchure there on todays offer 6th april http://leaflet.lidl.co.uk/0478351a-e214-4e35-a9a2-8c40d6f6f073/html5.html?ar=7#/1

Looks good. £5.99 and 3-year warranty (LIDL are usually good on the warranty side of things). You should post it as a deal! ;)

Just an update to my previous comment...you get what you pay for lol mine lasted 3 days then it snapped when I was getting off it.
I went down and bought one stuck it on my mtb, next time I'm out at the trails will see how it gets on. Guessing people snap them a lot from getting on and off the bike!
quality is poor on this, easily broken.
Lasted no more than an hour on my bike. The slightest knock to the back one and it breaks
Spend a an extra fiver and get the ones from Aldi. I had two sets of these and both times I snapped the back one off, very weak hinge on them. The Aldi ones are much stronger and will take some hammering.

Good price but not sure how this performs... anyone know?

There's not much out there because it is new. For reference, the Smart Lunars usually get good reviews and are plenty bright enough to be noticed on city commutes, not to light up the road though. The next cheapest 700 lumens (USB) lights from Moon, Cateye or Lezyne would be over £70.

Hmmmm just checked the link and the price seems to have gone up. Not exactly sure how Amazon pricing works, but wonder if it is because Twister121 bought 2 at the same time it triggered a price change? I will give it an hour or so and if price doesn't change back I will edit the listing title. Thanks for posting the anomaly.

my bike cost about the same price. but heat for ability to blind people
ah you must be one of those who also doesnt think traffic lights or any of the rules of the road apply to them ;)
No you have to pay alot more for a bike before the rules dont apply to them. You also have to be a member of a cycling gang and wear funny clothing.
I thinks you will find those gangs wear leathers similar to those seen on the public information film produced by "The Village People" entitled "YMCA" and have engines in their bikes, and have renamed them to the catchier moniker of "Motor" Bikes ;)

Far too expensive for me but heat added as its a good price for this. Excellent piece of kit by all accounts
Have you found any stock? Tried to purchase but not able to reserve and not able to buy online
Excellent lamp and very good price for the large battery set.
8 brightness modes
Mounts on handlebars, helmet and head strap, all included.
I use it for night running, mainly off road, usually on the second or third from lowest settings
On road, cars often pull over as they have no idea what is coming

Mine have been used in the latest downpours and work absolutely flawlessly. These are great 'be seen' lights for the road but off road I use super beefed up lights that a Police helicopter could use as a search light.
These lights are fine as long as they go nowhere near any water! Take them in the rain and they'll stop working straight away.
Just as a comparison, my hubby is a keen mountain biker and after looking at these for ages he said he'd like a set..... so I ordered some yesterday afternoon to arrive in time for his birthday and they turned up today so a recommended seller too.
Worth a look!

Honestly. Spend the extra tenner. It will give it the extra grunt it needs to stop it being frustrating to use and last longer in the long run.

Post the deal, maybe others will benefit too... :)

Why do you want the keyboard?

The onscreen one is fine.

Case? Pick up a generic cheapo one on Amazon.

I used to have a single core A9 Chinese import tablet. I sold it within a month as it was just ...... glitchy? And it had double the RAM this one has.

Believe me, you'd be better spending the extra tenner on a way better core (CPU + GPU) and worry about frilly bits like cases next payday ....

Fair play... each to their own...

ok it seems people are still online but the DLC issue is still on.
basically the maps are not added to general rotation like cod.
i think u load them up sep depending on which set of dlc u want to play.
Thanks for the reply
multiplayer was awesome imo
there graphics hurt my eyes after a while though(very pixelated)
i dont think many people online with it either these days
some of the dlc is mode specific if i remember rightly
Is there still enough people playing this on xbl ? If there are then alot of people recommend the multiplayer.
Just leave the amazon prime running for the 1 month trial period. I've done this numerous times. Set to no renewal of prime in the amazon prime account settings. Hope this helps others.

It's quite a reduction but very similar deals have been around for a year. I bought this light last December (with this type of discount even back then) but returned it partly because it was so incredibly heavy and issues with the docking station. I think that there are probably much better lights out there now for this sort of money. I think that this is out-of-date technology.

Took the plunge on this. Seems a very good price.
I'm hoping it has different light settings, such as flash.
May I ask how'd the light work out for you? Bright enough for cycling in the dark (as in: on a high-way w/o street-lights)?
It does mention it in the specs :
High mode :approx 9hrs
Low mode :approx 20hrs
Flashing mode :approx 80hrs

I think the model before this didn't. I think the 1000cd should be decent enough for seeing where I'm going down lanes. Most of my journeys are street lit.

From a driver: if you have a bike then please get this and make it flash. Too many idiot cyclists on the road.

From a cyclist and a driver: Please don't get these cheap **** lights, we can't see them. Drivers, slow the **** down, give us more room and stop running red lights.

from a car driver and cyclist i agree with you bpth, hahaha

Seriously though, most people do give you plenty of room, only a few morons. Some mentally retarded people just hate cyclists.

However i also am appalled with some fellow cyclists who would rather be cool (and dead) than wear anything bright, a helmet, bother with uncool lights, stop at traffic lights, overtake other cyclists really close because they are like chris hoy (yeh good idea!), have to text / phone whilst riding, listen to mp3 players whilst riding.

Best near miss was some plank who went through a red light at a busy junction whilst listening to their mp3 player. if they bothered to look or werent using an mp3 player they would have seen and heard the ambulance whichhad to do an emergency stop. They carried on as if nothing had happened. People like that deserve to be run over.

Nothing wrong with listening to music while riding, we can hear just as much as those in a metal cage.

Those of us that pay attention or use a mirror have no issue.

But your little story didn't happen, you are a liar.

Edited By: hotukbeard on Oct 20, 2012 00:28
Listening to a MP3 player is OK - it depends on the volume level. I always have mine set so I can hear all external sounds as well as the music. It's no different to having a radio on in the car.
