Bottle lasts for eternity lol
A great price, will keep an eye out.
I was amazed how expensive this was last time I bought a bottle .... Even more amazed that when I went to put it in the drinks cabinet, there was already one there! Yes, it lasts so long you forget you have it.
Great price. Nice on vanilla ice cream too.
very good price for this. hope its national

2 litre bottles are often £1 in a lot of places
Unfortunately £1a bottle is a distant memory now :-(
£1.25 as mentioned above is now minimum price in all discount outlets
Nice find
More expensive per ml than the 2litre bottles for £1 and only slightly cheaper than the "new" 2litre price of £1.25 plus the 3litre is a pain to fit in my fridge.
That's the standard price for the 3ltr bottles in Iceland, been getting them for months at this price...
Buy 2x2 litres for 99p/£1 or go for a 3 litre bottle that will go flat 1/3 of the way into it....

The same discount price each time when is on offer, so cold for me.
nope it was £2.50 in Iceland well it was now back to full price.
gotta say costa do the best coffee and when you think the price they charge for a flat white being able to make a good 10-15 cups from £2 is a bargain and in comfort of your own home.

what is the best way to spend points? I've got £60 worth of points.
Lovely Jubbly having some cheap supermarket fuel this weekend - 10 x me bonus, plus i got another 6x point bonus activated so thats me loading up to 3rd May 2017 at sainsbury's - 16 x bones points, going crack large one out! Big Bonus time for me, aint it, I ain't no fool sucker!! I'm Nectar freeloading champion!!!
Just logged in to 'my favourites on offer' and there is hardly anything there, I wonder if Sainsburys would hold back their usual offers because of this deal? ;) I'm going tomorrow but it will be a top-up shop for milk and a few other items, if they're cheaper in Tesco they'll get my custom, I'm not being swayed by an offer for points where I can save money by shopping elsewhere.

BTW have I worked it out right, if I spend a tenner I'll get 50p back in points? Initially this seemed like a good deal but with the lack of offers for me it is not :(.

It's a shame Sainsbury's is 20% more expensive than the other supermarkets to begin with. How this deal got so hot is beyond me.
Since they dropped brand match and halved the amount of Nectar points you can earn it's been a sham. Then with more recent price increases I'd say Sainsbury's is easily the most expensive supermarket apart from Waitrose. We no longer shop there after being loyal Saino's customers for years

Agreed. I don't know what they think they're playing at by nearly doubling the prices on much of their Basics range in the last few months, e.g. the toilet cleaner went from 27p to 50p overnight, but still 27p at ASDA Tesco & Morrisons.

Do they seriously think people won't notice? Or care?
shanewba90
I have a nectar card, but not a clue what I do with the points I earn!
If you haven't done already, register the card at https://www.nectar.com/ then click on the Brands tab and see your choices. Most people probably spend them at Agros or in Stainsburys, but there are a few other choices.

But i always stick crushed garlic and a good chunk of butter in before i foil them, tastes a lot nicer :)

Just leave the foil on for an hour, then take it off and carry on cooking until the skins cooked enough for you, anf don't forget to keep basting periodically with its juices

omfg. how can I justify buying this?!
All meat is murder...
Only if the animal is not humanely slaughtered and this one says it's for pork so that always is slaughtered properly and not tortured as it is stunned into unconsciousness before it has it's throat cut so it is unaware of what is happening and doesn't feel any pain after that so it does not suffer like it would do if it was just hacked at with a knife as it struggled to escape while fully conscious.

Nowhere near as good in taste since Mondelez/Heinz started making them. Used to be made under licence by Trigon snack foods who make BIG D dry roast. Far superior in taste IMHO. Can normally get BIG D in Home bargains 50g for 25p...much better taste and value.

I found a lovely large leg of lamb last night. Cost only £10.79 for 2.84Kg.

Have to say I spent a good 15 minutes foraging as a lot of the packages contained ridiculously large volumes of blood and as a couple of previous comments note, fat!

Happy to say though that the foraging was worth it as I have a lovely large joint that cost me less than half the price at my local butchers.

Picked up one today, seemed to be alot of water in the bag, and they didn't feel very firm. Then went over to Iceland and noticed they were on offer for £3.95/kg, so picked one up there as well which looked much better quality.
How does a leg of lamb "Look much better quality" ?
The Iceland lamb offer is from NZ - and the Aldi lamb offer is British (and cheaper) - so perhaps an "independent" taste quality review would clarify the HUKD Supermarket Lamb Wars argument ;)
Haha, i think we do need an independent review after reading through all the different lamb threads! I'd pretty much always buy meat from Aldi over Iceland, but the lamb i got today from Aldi is very soft, pale in colour, hardly any fat, and all slimy due to the amount of water it was sitting in, might've just been the ones in my store though so can't comment on what is being offered elsewhere. The Iceland one looks and feels much more like a good leg of lamb should do. I'm guessing due to the time of year the British lamb is much older in comparison to what is being offered from NZ.

Sorry but I would have left it on the shelf if it looked like that !!
Maybe I was lucky with the ones I bought.

As you've purchased legs from two different stores - HUKD members eagerly await your unbiased opinion on the taste/quality of the meat/value ;)

This is the normal price, and they're very poor cashews. I found that of all the budget cashews, Aldi are the best. I *think* they're the same price as these.
Based on your recommendation, I'll give those Aldi ones a go. I've had the cheapo Asda ones in the past, but they really aren't up to much.
Aldi ones are really nice. 67p off top of my head. 150g as well I think*. Very difficult only to have a handful, I usually have the whole bag.
Salted peanuts are only 43p I think.
(I only know these figures as I'm good at remembering numbers)
Aldi are 75p for 125g,perfectly ok to add to stir fries or nibble on their own. They have been the same price in Morrisons as well.
How is this a deal? they have been that price for years. What next a list of everything cheap in Tesco??

Please look at the price per kg on the sticker because all at this store were £10 per kg..
Durham residents - thank me later - Terry @ Tesco - sorry for the extra work! lol

Normal price is around 5.69 a kilo in Lidl, not really a massive saving, Tesco are overpriced in first place

Well today they are underpriced.

It's still 69p cheaper, and people go mental when saving 2p on a litre of fuel.

when will M&Ms be suitable for vegetarians????
When they remove the insect dye?
What would a vegetarian do if they accidentally swallowed a fly? :D
Dunno. :p

Already listed along with the note if you buy £3 worth and it's the correct package you get your cash back in Google credit.
This isn't a promotional pack of M&Ms, so you can't get the £3 google credit, so technically this offer isn't listed

Is this the hike in fresh vegetable prices they keep warning us about?

No this is supermarkets wheeling people through the door with loss leaders. They are making a huge loss on these promotions but make it up by charging one or two pence more on baked beans or tinned good for instance.

These prices are not reflective of the true cost of fruit or vegetables.

Pretty good harvest of cauliflower this year I guess, I have eaten more of these cut price cauliflower than I did in the last two years 8)
Can I just say that, as someone who is trying to grow the bloody things at an allotment, that I find such postings incredibly depressing!!
