Co-Op cafes do a permanent term term offer where children's meal is free with an adult meal & school holiday offer of children's meals for only £1 which can be consumed by children or adults (no minimum spend). This is not well advertised so you need to ask them to process it at the till for you. In my opinion by far the best supermarket cafe food. All cooked fresh to order, piping hot, good portions & quick service. Also they do a loyalty card; buy 9 adult meals & get the 10th free.

you cant comaplin for £15.00 we went McDonalds with the kids for a treat after school tonight, 3 kids 2 adults and was £30.00 got home and my eldest asked coudl he make a sandwich lol..

To be fair though , your family would probably need a visit to McDs after this meal as this wouldn't be enough food for you (2 adult meals and 2 kids meals) , also this doesn't include drinks so add approx. £10 to this and you are at £25 and still short on meals.
Hope this clarifies my point for you this time, I know you struggled with the last one ;)

Look at you 2 bother bickering over McD's and their heart attack in a box, if you want your kids filled up with processed crap and toxic chemicals (and eventually developing god only knows what physical defects over the years) then at least be civil to each other about it.
And although hungry horse isn't the best quality pub grub, it is still quite a good deal, heat added OP :)

Cool story bro ..... Our first visit to McD's this year and my kids are all going to die of a heart attack through their consumption of 2 cheeseburgers and 1 portion of large fries , wow , just wow ;)

Point being McD's can be had for less than £30 for food alone for some of us , 2 of my kids are 13 and 15 and have good appetites.Obviously your £30 included drinks as you purchased meals so perhaps a little unfair to compare your cost as its not really like for like is it.Gives it a bit of balance when comparing the cost difference of McD's to this deal posted , that's all. Please don't be offended , my post wasn't meant to offend ;)

I bought 4 meals at £5.49+ each (as a treat) and £2.79 happy meal.. + McFlurry so £30.00

you bought 2 cheeseburgers at 99p each and 4 fries.. hardly comparable. Im not offended but clearly your comment had subtext.

But well done for buying less food cheaper.

Wow ..... we went the other day , 2 adults 3 kids and our bill was just under £15. Breaking it down , we had ....2 cheeseburgers and large fries x 4kids meal x 1We were all full and we had our tea late so we were all really hungry too ;)
2 of my kids are older teens, an extra value meal is about £5.00 each. and whats your point?

Damn it, why did our school have to have a non-pupil day on the first Friday, not the Monday after?!
For some reason it's only offering me 2xstudios. It won't give me 1 apt for a family of four (2 kids - 12 & 8).
Maybe they sold out?

Probably is why the price has changed anyway..
Seems to be £270 pp now :(

Bargain! There have been some excellent reductions on Thomson recently. looking forward to our £460 each pacific side all inc mexico holiday over half term with thomson on the dreamliner. dont forget 3% cashback and any codes that will apply.

Thomson do seem to have some good deals recently. I know last year there were some good last minute August deals too that I found for friends and family, the only thing I found was they appeared at ridiculous hours so I'd check when I got up at 5am and be texting family then as they went so quickly!

yeah i would agree, all my thomson / thomas cook bargains have been early morning finds. id also advise not to dither just book as its awful kicking yourself if it goes. There are some fab aruba deals from manchester in the coming weeks that have been posted. I presume they either want to fill the flight and so will sell remaining seats near to cost and hope they make money onboard. Or in our case i believe it must have been a cancellation where they have already received payment for the holiday and are purely 'doubling' their money as it cost over 1800 each originally.
Keep up the cracking deals - love holidays!

This deal is misleading.

The £21.95 tickets on the Gullivers Website relate to a special event over May Half term that includes food, however I contacted Little Bird who confirmed that this deal is for general admission only not the special event tickets.

General Admission tickets on the Gullivers Website (Warrington) are only £16.95 each therefore only a £1.95 saving per person.

Reflectors shaped like a cockerel and the little coloured balls that moved up and down the spokes as you rode making clacking noises, great memories! :D

Poor Leah makes a very Freudian comment about "c0.ck and balls moving up and down" and no one notices? I swear the average IQ of HUKD members has plummeted ;)
you have taken me back to my childhood X)
anyone else rip the fibreglass window boards off the derelict houses then skid for days 8)
or attach a fex playing cards to the rear of the frame so the spokes hit it
With the bikes around here you'd get more realistic results by trapping a wasp in a biscuit tin. Or if you're trying to stay cred a hornet in your Roughneck Transformers Lunchbox and Roughneck flask set - no, not a Bumble Bee - too obvious! Though this is where it's at:

Link not working for me?
Arghh terrible egg related puns, that might mean a cold vote :D
Yep, no Baggage costs (add £70 I guess), so not really a great saving
Quite cheesed off with Thomson - the reason the Mexico flights are so cheap is that no hold luggage is included and you have to pay £50 departure "tax" when departing Mexico in order to leave. Every other airline includes this tax with the price of your ticket, but not Thomson - as I found out last week when returning from Cancun.

was there yesterday with my family. Average wait for a ride 40 minutes. Absolute disaster and waste of money
Guess you don't go to theme parks very often then. 40 mins is a pretty short queue. Personal advice - stay away at busy periods (like next weekend - at least you went before half the country went onto half term!
For those who don't mind waiting - I think Legoland is amazing!
We got the annual passes through tesco 2 years ago and went about 10 times in the year.

THIS! We went in September last year for 2 days, stayed at the Hotel and had a brilliant time. Walked on everything. It's all about timing with LEGOLAND and all theme parks really. If you go on a bank holiday/during school holidays obviously it's going to be busy. No point moaning about it!
Recently came back from Legoland. It was busy on monday (bank holiday) and surprisingly busy on Tuesday too. Long waiting ques, Q Bot for an additional cost and lets you reserve the ride but only once the ride waiting time is up.
Overall lot of walk and few rides. We waited 45 minutes and ride time was less than 3 minutes.
Dont think I'll be going back to Legoland again.

Edited By: asifbutt on Apr 20, 2017 21:16
This is cheaper than buying tickets direct!
Any advice on the Q Bot please?
I am not visiting Legoland until they put some sort of cap on number of people allowed to start with. It's like herds are allowed to wonder as they like. Not surprise, why would they offer second day free /discounts, because management is aware that family of four would not have chance to get on all rides at least once in one day, looking at number of people allowed to graze in.

As mentioned on this forum and on previous thread, it's a queue land. I got two boys 7 & 4 and it's very difficult to keep them entertained for an hour while waiting for their turn to get on five minutes ride. I can go on for another half an hour but rather not waste my time. I will take my kids somewhere else and there are lots of places, where they can have decent day out for the money I pay for Legoland and top of that a lifetime memories of crying children while waiting on queue. NEVER AGAIN…..

Thanks for the heads up op

Was going to do this last time they had the offer.

I chose the Maidenhead Holiday Inn. For 2 days park and the hotel I think it is a very good deal, even if you did the 1 adult child free offers you'd be looking at £90 for first day and £90 for a second which is already more than a lot of the offerings here.

How is that cold? It's a good deal for anyone travelling off peak.
And a bad deal for those not wanting to go off-peak..

It doesn't mean that it's not a good deal though. There are loads of good deals on here for products I would never buy but it doesn't mean they aren't good value.

the deal is £5 off the railcard. Obviously Hot whether you think the railcard gives value for money is a totally different kettle of fish. I save at least £4 a week with mine ,that's without the bigger trips which are usually too expensive without a railcard.

The D-G Helen Ghosh gets paid £183,960 pa - hardly a massive salary for the size of the organisation
difference between NT and NTS family membership is 25 pounds.
I reckon there will be no shortage of smart, experienced, honest people ready to hold and be effective (unless effectiveness is measured by amount one pays into their pocket) in NT D-G post for half of that amount (some might even do that for less. but lets say its 100K)
84K saved, divided by 25 pounds would give an opportunity for 3360 Joe's to get a discount and avoid the need to buy fully legal and honest NTS membership and more importantly avoid being obused by 'Newbold's ...

P.S. also, this attitude 'us in E&W vs them in S' is exactly what is driving SNP members. FFS, it is still the same country, isnt it ? Properties in S also constitute GB heritage and need to be preserved. How many people shout 'thiefs & cheats' when somebody points that local Bristol Tesco has discount, while London one does not ?

for reference: The Prime Minister is paid £150,402 a year. This includes the basic salary for a member of parliament which is currently £74,962. Is our Government less 'charitable' than NT ?

Hope you all feel good about yourself ripping off a charity.
What's next stealing guide dogs from the blind?
Put morals before money and you might sleep at night.
oh...that's just silly. Personally I do a lot for voluntary groups & have devoted years of my life to specific charities. Costs of NT membership are too high for me on my wage and particularly as I won't get out to enough properties to justify the full rate. I'll be taking advantage of one of the lower offers as a result.
(PS... the charities I do support are all ones which support the very vulnerable... not propping up a class heritage)

and where would all the charities that you supported be if they were equally deprived of money by hotukdeals?
The National Trust is more than just some charity that props up class heritage and I think your assesment is slightly unfair. That said they could offer cheaper membership rates for those on benefits etc. Perhaps you should contact them and suggest it.
Cheers

What's next stealing guide dogs from the blind?
Put morals before money and you might sleep at night.
oh...that's just silly. Personally I do a lot for voluntary groups & have devoted years of my life to specific charities. Costs of NT membership are too high for me on my wage and particularly as I won't get out to enough properties to justify the full rate. I'll be taking advantage of one of the lower offers as a result.
(PS... the charities I do support are all ones which support the very vulnerable... not propping up a class heritage)
The NT is a charity which benefits only itself. My nearest NT park is Lyme Park where it is now £8.00 to park your car, before you buy a £1.50 can of pop and a £4.00 sandwich. I believe the intentions were originally honourable, saving many historic properties from dereliction, but lets face it, these days its a business the same as any other corporate (except not paying its fair share of tax), run by greedy accountants pricing these parks out of the grasp of many young families. If you can save yourself a few pounds by buying membership for the same price as theyre happy to sell for across the border then go for it!

Worth bearing in mind that the National Trust is a charity. Not sure if people would post deals about how to cheat other charities out of money!
True but the other way of thinking about it is that more people will visit their sites and possibly spend more in their small onsite stores. For some it isn't about saving money but what is affordable, there is a big difference in the family membership cost and surely it is better for kids to be out in the outdoors learning rather than stuck in front of the tv during school holidays? Not all HUKD members are money grabbers ;).
I'm I can't afford a decent laptop for my daughter that does not make it right to steal one. There are lots of things that have benefits that many can not afford if you can't afford it you don't get it simple
A bit of extreme example. I hate the way a two-tier system has been created and only those with a lot of money can afford it.
It's the distinction between value and affordability. Even if I was a multi-millionaire, I'd still think that the NT was taking the Michael. Interesting the chap who bought up the Giant's Causeway earlier. Apparently the pricing there caused all sorts of complaints a few years ago, was reported by the national press and even the local MP was involved. Doesn't seem to have changed anything. It also highlighted how NT staff would corral confused tourists to go through their visitor centre, paying £9 a pop to enter a small building that just had some basic information and a café, without telling them that they could just visit the Causeway for free which was round the side of the building.
Contrary to what people are saying about 'stealing' etc - the NT is not some noble entity and they would quite happily take the shirt off your back. Do not feel guilty about taking up the Scottish membership.
What utter garbage. Shirt off your back? For God's sake. It's a charity not a bank. And as a charity it can only spend in a highly restricted number of ways. It's spent preserving our heritage and finding ways to cheat the NT is just cheating those admirable aims. How very clever of you.
Yet you don't have any qualms about the NT rinsing tourists for every penny and being dishonest. How very risible of you. Why are you such a cheerleader for them? Are you related to the CEO...or have some sort of vested interest?
Simple: they don't, and I'm not. I just prefer to support a charity that's responsible for maintaining the county's heritage (and needs membership income to do it) instead of a bunch of freeloading lowlife cheats determined to cheat it out of that income, but still want all the benefits that members pay their membership fees for.
It's no different from cheating a hospice, air ambulance or the RNLI out of money just because you've found a legal loophole enabling you to do it - try to justify it as much as you like, it's still a lowlife tactic.
Newbold, your dismissive and abusive attitude seems to reflect the arrogant and patronising attitude of today's ent quite well. You don't happen to be its £180k leader do you?
When you visit Wakehurst - ent's most visited site - I'm sure you'll be ecstatic to pay the £10 parking fee ent members have to pay, even after paying the expensive annual ent membership fee. Remember that when ent lawyers evict yet another tenant from one of their properties so you can rent it as a holiday let, it's your money which pays for it. Very charitable.
You really do have some kind of down on the National Trust, don't you? Do a little research, though, and take up your complaint about parking at Wakehurst with the people who hold the lease, run and manage the place - Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The parking charge is set by RBG and has nothing to do with the National Trust - though Trust membership will still get you free entrance.Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is a world famous centre for botanical and mycological knowledge. With our two inspiring gardens at Kew in west London and Wakehurst in Sussex, we enchant our visitors with the wonder of plant diversity.http://www.kew.org/Wakehurst
I feel i'm well informed about the Wakehurst situation, having followed developments there over the last 30 years, all as a member until a couple of years ago, so no need to do any further research and google as you have just probably done to come up with your post. If you researched further, you'd realise that Wakehurst does impact the Kew carpark charges because Kew had costs due to NT visitors which NT were unwilling to pay voluntarily, so Kew had no option but to raise funds by car parking being its only option. My view is if NT had paid a reasonable sum per visitor to Kew to compensate for their costs, then the very high car parking charges would have not been necessary. That's why i resigned my NT membership, due to the increasingly hard profit maximising and non-charitable decisions NT make these days.
So yes, I'm disappointed in NT, and it seems from this thread that others are too. The fact that current NT supporters such as yourself have no qualms about calling those with an alternative view to their own 'lowlife, cheats' and other abusive terms perhaps show who NT appeal to these days.
If you understand the full facts of the Wakehurst situation, you'll also be aware of the terms of the lease which RBG took from NT. Both are charitable organisations, and both are bound by the Charities Acts. Both fully understood the terms of the lease. NT cannot legally cross-subsidise RBG and if RBG feel they need to charge for car parking that's entirely their decision. As a NT member I have to accept that if I visit Wakehurst I now have to pay a parking charge to RBG - such is life.

And as for the reference to freeloading lowlife cheats, I think that's a pretty fair description of people who use a legal loophole to cheat a charity. And I think the man on the Clapham omnibus would agree. You will not, of course, and I think we will have to agree to disagree. :)

I always think its stupid and fraudulent that they never charge the same, why does it even matter? you can have like 10 kids go and its cheaper then 2 adults

Any good offers for a family of 4, 3 adults, 1 child?

O
Been to Rhodes twice last time we went all inclusive and stayed at the Smartline cosmopolitan it was great very hot weather it was July the last week of the world cup was on got to watch the Final in our hotel bar and it was rammed. someone posted "beach at ixia isnt the best and i think you have to cross the main road" thats right its all pebble beach and theirs some very fast moving traffic down the road but we loved the walk of a evening along the beach into town for a drink it was very warm. I wouldnt go in October thats the end of the season and it will be very quiet with most places shut down for the winter.

Done. I'm taking the baby sitter instead. :D
I've stayed at this hotel - Poppy is a really nice hostess - if anyone is thinking of going, be sure to take a hike up the road about a mile or so to Lardos village, a proper working village with a very nice atmosphere - particularly nice restaurant right as you walk into the village which basically bisects the triangle corner junction leading into town square (can't remember restaurant name) that does wonderful food at a great price.

great price. too bad my kids holiday starts on the 23rd... :(
Dont worry, the offer still applies even if you begin the holiday on the 23rd.

looks interesting but the bit about 260 euro deposit being refunded 15 days after departure subject to deductions and a 56-126 euro end of stay cleaning deposit again returned 15 days later with deductions made if apartment requires clang after you leave makes me a bit uneasy.
By this time you will be back in the UK and therefore it would be very difficult to dispute if they make claims you have broken items in the apartment or left the place unclean.
Timestamped pictures just before you leave showing the condition. Can't argue with it.
Anyone know if any of the places on offer are easy to travel to by train?
I decided to book one for 209.50
just booked one for £309.50, I have no idea about the place, but still wanted to try and see. Hopefully good

*** BEWARE ***
I went there 2 years ago, Bulgaria is the most hostile place I have ever been. The locals are not nice to tourists, people being surrounded and robbed every day on the resorts. A pregnant couple we met were threatened at knife point for their belongings by 5 men on the main strip in broad daylight. I wouldn't go there is my life depended on it.

Sounds nicer than Stevenage!
Unless you have two children under the school age you would need to take them out of school. Plus you still need to find cheap flights and pay for transfers.

Not really a good deal

what are chances isis blowning the beach up
Little to none. Bulgaria is quite safe to visit on tourism though be mindful of travelling outside Sofia as local land is often controlled by criminal gangs who demand protection money or straight out tithes. A shame as the land is quite lovely
Oh dear! You better check your information sources :)

Booked 3 rooms when this offer was on and paid using Amex. Turns out that you cannot use Amex to get the offer:

"Limit one discount per booking. Not valid on past purchases or pay-on-arrival bookings (including all bookings where American Express is the payment method) and not exchangeable for cash."
Gutted - saw this deal on the Facebook post yesterday which stated 'code ends tomorrow' so left it to book today when i have the time and the code ended yesterday. Thanks HUKD :(
perfect timing for me :) many thanks guys

Can anybody suggest a nice one for school holidays? That's also cheap of course (outside London).

Don't know if it's covered by the deal but their one at Lowestoft is one of the best I've been in

The last 2 Travelodge's we stayed in were dirty with outdated bathrooms.
Blood on the undersheet / toilet dirty & bathroom not cleaned properly in a very long time.
Bedside lamps looked as if they had never been cleaned, same went for the kettle.
This was all at the one in view of the Dartford crossing (Kent side) and the one on the A2/M2 at Chatam was not a lot better, both times "some" money was refunded but never again for us.
Also if you have a complain trying to get hold of anyone online / phone is like getting blood out of a stone.
Those ones are rough because they are mostly occupied by contractors who share one room between 5 or 6.

No they are rough (read Dirty) as the staff are given no time to properly clean the rooms !

Not a deal that suits me but can say we have stayed here 6 times and its a great hotel.

Price looks fab for those that can avail.
So I got 2 weeks in Spain in June [in the season] - paid 1200. If I'd get same standard on this hols [extra luggage, hal board etc] I'd pay 480 for 5 days. Which gives me around 1400 off season. It isn't good deal.
Try to upgrade to half board or all inclusive when you get there, not a lot will be open in.Malgrat del mar or Santa Susanna
Calella isn't far away, good shopping street and big beach.
Lloret de mar is the biggest resort in Costa Brava/Costa Maresme and also worth a visit as is Barcelona.

what does double / twin mean can you chose a double when you get there?

Lately most hotel rooms I've been to have 2 single beds that can be together as a double or separated as twin room

For when you inevitably fall out:
"I swear I didn't even notice that woman in the string bikini, I was straining to try and read the bar menu from across the pool..."
