Now a 1-2 month wait. HotUKDeals strikes again!

Edited By: YippeeYiYo on Jan 19, 2017 17:35
I normally buy the 1kg tubs from Sainsburys which are around £5.65 from memory. I love the crunchy version and not just for toast. I put a spoonful in porridge or pancakes as I am making them. It also makes an easy chocolate nutty fudge.

Any suggestions about what foods to consume so I do not need to take Glucosamine or Chondroitin?
My brother in law was advised by his Consultant (a professor btw) to take these to help his back/hip problems....
I have neck, shoulder and spinal problems...... , and been taking these for years as advised by my consultant and chiropractor.

I stopped taking them about a year ago, as I was taking so many tablets......
I must admit, I am struggling to walk, even get out of bed some mornings, so I have just ordered some more, and am hoping it will do the trick.
But if you can tell me what food stuff provides the same beneficial effect on joints, I will appreciate it, as they cost a fortune.

p,s I already take fish oil and eat fish plus lots of fruit and veg.
just eat non processed food. less meat more fruit and veg and do some exercise. don't drink or smoke ... wow I just saved your life

Getting vitamins & minerals from food is always best. However, agricultural over farming has been depleting the soil & thus the food grown is not as nutritionally dense as it was say 60 years ago. Not to mention viramins & minerals additionally wasted due to time from farm to plate. Thus food is NOT as nutritionally dense.
This means that viramins & mineral supplements help to top up the levels, that the food one eats gives.
I am changing from chemically produced multi vitamins to multi vitamins made with & containing nutritionallly dense foods, as that will help my body to absorb the vitamins & minerals easier than the former

See my previous comment about not consulting a nutritionist (whose qualifications vary from dodgy to non-existent).

I know all about how easy it is to become a nutritionist by buying quick courses on deal websites.

I do have a B.Sc. (Homs) degree and know all about using Trusted & Quality sources, thanks.

Ah great, a nice trusty source like The Daily Fail. It must be true then!

Give it a few days and they'll have another article saying that Poundland vitamins are cr*p and to go for premium brands.

Is anyone reading this thread on statins? If so, have you ever eaten Grape fruit whilst on them? Information isn't clear on whether you can have a moderate amount of grapefruit whilst on statins.

The recommendation is that you don't mix grapefruit and statins. I don't know why and don't like grapefruit so don't know what would happen.

I was told DO NOT EVER have grapefruit - The trouble is that I cannot remember if it was the Statins or the other pills and potions I am on.

LOL, yea it is Statins. I just took half a tablet for the next 2 nights. I reckon that should all equal out. I hope!

Thanks so much! :)
I have been getting my peppermint oil capsules from this website for a few years which were so good that I no longer needed prescribed antacids. The dosage per capsule is small yet, so much more effective than a much higher dose capsule from a popular High Street shop, and which gave me worse heartburn! Luckily, said High Street brand refunded my money.

These are quite good. I had them free with a menshealth subscription.
They're being discontinued.

Natural sugar not added sugar though.
They're definitely different - a dense texture and not the best looking. I like them for a healthier energy boosting snack

I picked one up yesterday and it was inaccurate with the Omron one that I have. I'm taking it back for a refund.
Hope this helps others who are undecided. Heat anyway for the price

Better off getting an Omron one for just a few pounds more,Have bought one from Lidl before and it was inaccurate.Doctors use Omron which are clinically validated.
You are right but a word of caution. I have used the Omron M2 basic for a number of years I change them every two years rather than recalibrate, but the last two - last checked today at the Doctors surgery were reading 10 and the one before 15 points too high. These were bought through Amazon so not sure what's going on as always got them thru them with no problem. My suspicion is that they're going out of calibration in transit as the M2 is clinically validated ( which Best Buy )

Risky Toys...these are. Risky because they give you crap readings and you then start to worry if something is wrong...
Really ??? Have you used one ? How is it risky if you compare it with the result at the Drs ? btw worry isn't 'risky' anyway.
Actually it is if worrying over something which has not been validated as I would not think these are, and is reading to high, can put your BP up considerably, believe me I know from experience. I've taken my BP for 24 years as have lived with hypertension, and an inacurate monitor is worse than no monitor. Wrist monitors a notorious for giving inacurate results. Even upper arm monitors can be inacurate probably by being chucked about in transit. So I advise ALWAYS take your monitor to your Doctor and make sure it's reading within limits!

sure, I've got very high blood pressure too. not worth worrying about as I've had it for years and now my 'terminal' illness is something entirely different. I'll probably die by being hit by a bus anyway lol :)

as we have both said. get the accuracy checked at the Drs.

quite useful in the kitchen too, can use it for slicing melons and cracking nuts apparently

Sugar is very addictive. When you google "sugar addiction", you get the following definition:
"Scientists have found that sugar is addictive and stimulates the same pleasure centers of the brain as cocaine or heroin. Just like those hard-core drugs, getting off sugar leads to withdrawal and cravings, requiring an actual detox process to wean off."
No wonder they don't like it. Just like when a drug addict was given a shot with 50% less drug in it, he wouldn't like it neither.

This is the correct approach. All the treatments work but you should rotate.

Also you need to treat your house occasionally too.

As someone with 17 years experience in the dental profession, I guarantee u that there's an obvious difference in gum health between people who floss regularly versus those who don't.

Cheers, have some heat.

And here, have some honeycomb ones for £1 too:
https://www.graze.com/uk/shop/honeycomb-flapjack-multipack-1

Although apparently they're rather sweet.

For convenience here's your link without the unnecessary bits:
https://www.graze.com/uk/shop/cocoa-vanilla-protein-flapjack-multipack-2

And don't forget topcashback etc.

Both deals work together.
So I added some more snacks - punchy protein nuts multipack are currently £2 off as well at £3.99, so decent value.
Few more and got free delivery.

Way more snacks than I need, but actually works out decent value.

I had a link for this from Facebook and as I didn't checkout quick enough it reverted back to full price and I couldn't find the advert again to get it for £1 :(

cheaper on Amazon for 99p and free delivery
I suffered from hayfever for approx 30 years since a teenager. I stumbled on a cure by complete accident when I bought a smoothie maker to improve my five a day. I make my smoothies usually with the ingredients below and have one for breakfast made the night before as I start work early. After doing extensive reading online it looks like my immune system was toxic. Any allergens were sending my histamine levels through the roof.

The oats are known to help with allergies involving inflammation. The berries contain vitamin C and flavanoids which act as both natural antihistamines and antioxidants. The seeds are high in Omega-3 fatty acids which are also beneficial to allergy sufferers.

Add in the following order or the seeds will stick to sides. Blend for 30 seconds twice. Add more almond milk if too thick. I prefer a thicker smoothie as it keeps me satisfied up until dinner time.

1 Banana cut into 1 inch pieces (I freeze them when their spotty)
1/2 cup of berries of your choice (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries. Aldi's is the best place to buy frozen fruit, blackberries only available from Tesco).
1 Pink Lady apple chopped and cored (cheap combined apple corer and chopper from IKEA).
1 cup of unsweetened Almond milk.
1/2 cup of Moonflake fast oats pre cooked day before in 1 cup of water. Make batches, leave to cool, keep in fridge (Asda or Morrisons £2.17 for 2Kg)
2 small handfuls of baby leaf Spinach.
1 tsp of Flax seeds (Tesco).
1 tsp of Chia seeds (Tesco).

Sometimes I omit the apple and replace with five or six small chunks of mango or pineapple (Aldi frozen section).

Sorry if it's a bit long winded but I really needed to share this after all my allergy suffering. This recipe has transformed my health and life in the summer months. I also now have no reactions to dust mites and cats. Just wish I'd found it sooner.

I suffer from hayfever. I take Fexofenadine 180mg, helps alot, just before i get the hayfever symptoms.
I got 6 months supply of loratadine and cetirizine (I have to take both, as well as prescription one, because my hay fever is severe) from PharmacyFirst for £7. Absolute bargain, and they work perfectly.

I suffer from dust mite allergy quite bad which means I'm constantly buying tablets to help alleviate the symptoms.
this sort of deal looks interesting, which tablets are the best non drowsy option?
certirizine only affects a few people but loratadine affects none. deals like this seem good but there's usually a max quantity limit and with postage costs on top it's usually cheaper on amazon.

Yup, Amazon is cheaper, where I get mine

There appears to be a trend of voting cold or deleting deals for supplements? I got 2 months worth of multi vitamins free from Boots (4 packs) last week but the post got deleted.

Can't say about your deal, but this deal is utter fantasy, Raspberry Keytones are proven to do f all and sh***ing yourself thin isn't a thing either, infact that will have a negative effect on your body. Products like these are often dangerously high in caffeine or similar additives that are dangerous.

Because there is no evidence whatsoever that they work or unlikely that people need them.

Must be healthier than a Toblerone or xbox game!
This will most likely be a con and result in a recurring charge on your payment method being put in place

I've got the Phillips version too, gets used loads, I cook almost everything in it that will fit.
How big is the basket, that's the only think stopping my getting it. Like would a Donegal Catch long shaped cod fit? Without it being chopped up :)
Cheers .... this looks good.
It's not massive to be honest, around 8 inches at a guess. I cooked cod in mine tonight actually!

Thanks for that, think I'll get one.... I'm starting to pack on the pounds.

I am never sure exactly what sort of things I'd cook in one of these, other than chips. And would it have the capacity to cook enough for a family of three in one go? What do you guys cook in yours? Fried bread? Fried chicken?
fried cockroaches, if Chinese can I do not see why I cannot and I tried, this country is full, unused and free. Wet and drain so that flour will stick better then fry. No need to open their stomach for cleaning. They are delicious and sweet. Do not do them often give the time to repopulate in your kitchen

This website is very informative about electric toothbrushes (particularly Sonicare and Oral-B) and may help those on the fence about trying one. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=animated-teeth+sonicare (can't post a direct linky on this forum to this site).

If undecided about which Sonicare model to purchase, be sure to avoid the PowerUp models :)http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/philips-sonicare-hx3130-02-pink-power-up-rechargeable-toothbrush-15-00-prime-21-2257365?p=25696002
