Since so many people here keep claiming all these things about Scan - why haven't you gone through Trading Standards, got your money back and Scan shut down??? Or taken them to small claims court? There are plenty of options.Personally I have always found Scan to be excellent (although everything has always arrived fine for me and have never tried returning anything) - but many of these things people are claiming are against the law.

Plenty of options which don't really work. Trading standards aren't really interested and I did threaten with small claims court, which did make them improve their offer of a refund (still not the full value though). Ultimately they messed me around so much I accepted their offer, although I have to admit I would like to see them cease trading. Wouldn't like to see folk lose their jobs, but the management of this shower of s**t deserve it.

The daily deals have changed, but the 180GB Intel 330 SSD is on weekend deal at £90.30, but if you still use the link on this thread, it will still come out at £88.79 - See below :D
Amazon will replace employees with robots and put driverless vehicles on the roads and build more collection lockers. Scan will continue to employ local knowledgeable people in and around Bolton and organise some fun events at their store.

+1 Scan, CCL, Novatech, Aria, Microdirect, Overclockers, Overclock, Kikatek, Ballicom, Micom, More Computers... and all other indie stores. Amazon are convenient - unethical and should probably be nuked sooner rather than later.
You should not utter Scan in the same breath as Overclockers, Overclock or Novatech.

Having dealt with all four companies, Scan are defensive, intransigent and pernickity to the nth degree, unless they open a swan sanctuary I have little interest in their charitable works in the Bolton area. When I cannot organise a simple order exchange within 10 minutes of making the order in the middle of a weekday, and instead being told that the item will be sent out to me regardless because it's "in the system", I am aware that I am dealing with the wrong people.

You cannot base customer service on a sequence of utterly inflexible red-line rules whilst simultaneously wringing every last excuse out of the wording of product warranties (another problem I have with them), right or wrong it is poor show, short-game penny-pinching.

Good deal btw.

aah.. yes..Overclockers. The company which ripped people off for a Wii at £100 OVER RRP.

Do EVGA provide a UK based centre to deal with or do you have to have things shipped back and forth to the States?

All I know is EVGA have not been around long. It seems the 680i board was what made them, but it was an nVidia reference board... so they dont even manufacture it. The doubt they have an office in the UK!!
