thanks op. @drqgom2612 im trying this with sky fibre tomorrow to feed my asus ac58u. shall let you know if sync speed increases. have an eci openreach and sky router atm
I've been thinking about getting either one of these or an OpenReach modem on ebay so I can use whatever wireless router I want or just getting an VDSL/ADSL wireless router.

Is this better than ebay OpenReach modems?

I've had a dig around on the Netgear site, and see no mention of it having gigabit ethernet, with it being described as "high speed", which is often obfuscatory shorthand for 100mbps - something that might be worth paying attention to if a gigabit sized connection to your fibre based service is important to you (which it might not be). HTH.

Openreach aren't running VDSL2 above 80Mbit/s at the moment and I've not seen any plans to offer anything above the current 80/20 profile over VDSL2, all the faster services they've been on about so far have either been FTTP (Mostly GPON) or G.FAST neither of which this modem is suitable for anyway.
If only I had over 100 Mbps internet connection :-)

You can stay 11 nights for even less flying from Gatwick ;). TOTAL PRICE £483.05 ( 2A + 2 C ).
Also remember Quidco.
Thanks for that! Never checked 10 days.....

Might be worth updating your deal ;), Might get some extra heat :).

Expect weather to average between 12 and 18 degrees in March, You'll need your coat but it is probably much warmer than Bridlington at that time of year ;). The hotel looks nice and it might be the only time of year some people can get away, It's a very good deal imo.
It's freezing in March, probably more so than the UK
The Bonaire was a pretty decent aparthotel when we stayed there 8 years ago. Cala Bona is a pleasant, fairly quiet little resort, close to the bigger resort of Cala Millor on the island's east coast. The Caves of Arta are not too far away for something to do on a wet day. March in Mallorca can be quite cool so take some warm clothing. Max average temp is around the 17°C mark. The recently introduced Balearics 'tourism tax' means you will have to pay the hotel an additional €0.83 (inc 10% VAT) per adult per day during your stay (low season rate) for a one week stay. Children under 16 are not taxed. If your stay is for more than 9 days, the tax is only €0.42 (inc VAT) per adult per day.

I can only talk from experience of having a coolermaster CMstorm Trigger X mechanical keyboard for about 18 months.

Cherry MX Brown and just "plain" white LED backlit, daily hardish use (including regular 10 hour gaming sesh's) and not had a single problem with it. The accompanying macro software is really uselful if you spend 20 mins understanding it. I'd have no problem recommending it to anyone.

Oops should've checked before posting.. no longer available at amazon... my bad.

Amazon reviews suggest the led's on this keyboard have longevity issues. Probably the reason for the heavy discount.
Pretty much ALL backlit mechanical LED keyboards have issues be they from Razer, Corsair, Coolermaster or Ducky (my Ducky had 2 failed LEDS in it's first 9 months)

The simple fact is that LEDs don't like being rattled/shaken and keyboards do that to them - the newer the design, the better they are but pretty much all backlit mechanicals have some degree of issue with this

I'd not have another - at the end of the day, you shouldn't be looking at the keyboard anyway so who cares if it's lit? :)
Used one for work which is heavy typing 8-10 hrs a day, within a month had backlight of 7 keys failing, replacement lasted two weeks before a Led went. Now on my 4th replacement after ten months.
Hope to be luckier but they do have led issues :-(
Paid £51 last year, had a key fail. RMA to Amazon. New one is OK so far but disconcerting if buying from somewhere with costly returns.

It's very big so have plenty of space.

I'd give it 6.5/10.

I have had one key die in a year, but people have had alot worse, sometimes you can just reset the firmware or software though I don't fault people for not trying. It's a great keyboard id you don't care about that, I mean honestly, I touch type, you shoulsnt play games on the dark and do you really need a cascade or stary night effect when not in use? The LED fad has gone right over my head.

its a good offer. you really need to have a few months to dig into the records, especially if you haven't got much to go on to start with. I had a membership a couple of years ago for 6 months (back when you could buy a box with software and free 6 months membership). I've traced some ancestors reliably back to 1840 or so, some quite boring (farmers etc, not much to find there), but others have interesting stories. so I'd say its definitely worth it if you can put the time and effort in and you're interested.
This is hilarious. 4 months premium access for 20 quid and it's freezing cold! Perhaps I should have posted the 14 quid a month offer!
To get the offer you just have to complete the free 2 week trial.
And as for the effectiveness of Ancestry.co.uk, I have got back to 1700 and I've only been doing it for a fortnight. And I have every document available as evidence. I've discovered 4 relatives who served in WW1, 3 of whom died at the front and even a relative who was transported to Oz.
Just imagine how long that would have taken if I'd had to rely on traditional methods!

Ancestry will not give you your tree, it may give you a tool to build one but you still need to prove every branch otherwise you will go off on the wrong track. Years and years of work if you want a true history of your family.
Agree with this. Originally signed up thinking they would have all the info. Instead, it shows you ways to find the info yourselves. Basically, you do it all yourself, and can do it the same way without Ancestry from public files/records/google.

Ancestry does not give you your tree but it allows you to see public trees and go far enough and someone else is likely to have researched some of your ancestors - so you get very useful hints. You will not get the same things from public records - a few times you'll get more but mostly a hell of a lot less unless you want to travel to different parts of the country and spend ten times as long and a lot more money.

Brought these earlier in the week. Very decent for the price and give a great amount of light.
Poundland has limited stock, i bought 1 candle led ses bulb from there about a week ago, it was 5W = 40 but it was the last one on the shelf lol I've seen 3w there too, but they only had 3 or 4 in stock.
if there's none in stock see if they have the 1 pack which is around £1.27 or £1.60 I think. Exactly the same bulb as these
BigDaveuk
I purchased these last weekhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0125T76KA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_KaPGyb7SQ6A8F
Can't believe how small they are but you get good light from them.
I like how cute/small they are but I would go with some higher wattage/lumens. 350 simply isn't enough for me.
there's been some really good buys on led lights at screwfix recently. Filter the menu out to led, and your fitment and have a look. Don't know how many are left at your local but worth a go as it looks like they have been having a clear out.
Even at normal price its way better to buy led as most bulbs are under £3

Can this be used on outdoor wooden furniture?
It's not very good on smooth planed wood as it doesn't adhere as much as rough cut wood and it's not a stain in the sense that it soaks deep into the wood. Also in high use areas I'd say it would wear off.
I've used this for years in my garden and love it. However having recommended it to a friend for some old fences then she has experienced it coming off on patches on her side fences but perfect on the bottom fence. At a loss to why this would be although they are different fences and probably installed at different times. She did get given more of it to repaint it but it just happens again.
Same experience here. I painted my shed and some fences in it a couple of years ago and it looked great... for a couple of months, then it started coming off.
Re-painted this year, this time applied a few more coats, and same thing.
No idea where they get 5 years from because in the weather here it won't even last 1. Shame, as the finish is great when it's first put on.
Did you jet wash your fences first or were they new?
I think this stuff is also available in Costco

One new fence panel, one new shed, two old fence panels. Doesn't seem to make much difference either way, they've all worn off in patches.

Not sure if I can return to just using normal garden stain/paint, e.g. Cuprinol Garden Shades or Sadolin, as this coating is effectively a waterproof skin (where it still sticks).

Ahh well, just keep re-coating I guess. Nice finish when it's fresh on :)
Homebase seemed to have all colours in stock, I bought Autumn Brown and it was £10 for 5l tins.

Looks a good deal and everything about these suggests they are totally waterproof. Not sure how the posts above have arrived at another conclusion?
If you want to put this in a bag, there is no need to go for the rugged material, you can get lighter weight dry bags.
I have a few of these. When you roll down the top and clip together you cannot expel the air. If you cannot force out air water certainly won't get in. I'd say they might leak if you go scuba diving otherwise they're very good for all water sports.

Intrigued as to what this is used for?

Usually used for boating, we have on win the speedboat for just keeping things dry in general like phones and cameras, towels etc! Money too although not so much now with majority of notes becoming plastic..

Tempting, although I loved my c64, sometimes its better to not go back, its never as good as you remember. Keep wearing my rose tinted glasses and remember the good times.

Yes, much as I love retro gaming, these days it is very difficult to put yourself in the frame of mind to enjoy the early 8 bit computer releases just because so much time has passed and graphics and gameplay have advanced so much, though I think the very best titles of the time stand up, on gameplay at least. Unfortunately, modern displays are extremely unkind to retro computer and console graphics with the super sharpness of LCDs making them look far blockier and more pixellated than they actually did as the small crts of the day actually blurred the image slightly offering a very rudimentary form of anti aliasing. As the vast majority no longer have a CRT, and especially not one they can use with their PC, emulated games usually look a fair bit worse entirely because of the display the PC is connected to....

Rang back, told cs rep that I was recording the call and I wanted to complain about the previous rep.

Stated clearly and calmly that I wasn't interested in any deal, I just want the pac for the 3 lines I had with them.
27 minutes later and I had my first pac!
He was about to hang up when I said about the other pac's.

Took 7 mind for the 2nd one and he couldn't do the last one as that number was locked as I'd had it so long.

Transferred to whichever dept and stopped him before he even started on his script!

Just the pac, nothing but the pac please.
No offers, no deals, no big reason for leaving, just the pac.

Can I help you with.... No, pac please.

He was quicker but it shouldn't take so long to leave any provider.

And it's been the same every time I've left 3.
Keep hoping they'll fix the blackspot on the A14, but no.

They'll have to offer me a golden ticket with a dedicated contact for when I leave, if they ever want me back again.

It's not all about money, but over 40 mins in phone calls to leave is ridiculous.

Shopping now for new provider...
I think the deal they offer, depends on how much they think they can make from you in the future. If they think you might take out an expensive phone contract in say a year they might off you a better SIM only deal. Or you might have a couple of phone contract for the kids, and they might be more inclined to offer you a good deal.

A few years ago I worked nights, and streamed music all night every night. From the phone conversation when my contract ended I think they could wait to get ride of me!!! I guest they where not make any money from me due to the amount off data I was using. So would not offer me a discount.

Edited By: gavindavies790251 on Jan 19, 2017 12:37: Sentence did not seem complete at end.
Here's what they offered me sim only

4gb advanced plan
unlimited mins / text
£11 rolling month to month
or £10 for 12 months

8gb advanced plan
unlimited mins / text
£16 rolling month to month
or £13 for 12 months but 600 mins

Lots of to-ing and fro-ing but that's the best i could get, and i need a advanced plan as i go abroad 3 times a year. And my data usage is between 3gb and 5gb monthly over the last 24 months.
I've been with three for 7 years. I phoned up retentions twice, ended up ordering a PAC code - they offered me nothing I can't find online (just the £10 three deal)

just decorative pieces rather than something functional, wooden inlay on a bed frame and some bits on plastic toys.

don't know how they work but they work and a great invention...
What did you stick with it ?
I bought several of these, the idea is great but I found the glue to be very poor, I used it loads of times on different types of plastic and it just fails. It definitely will not stick glasses, I tried it on my sunglasses and it would not hold. Hope it will work for someone though. Thanks for posting.

This is a bit of a weird one, personally wouldn't feel right buying sale items from such a worthwhile charity, although I guess if you did you could always donate the rest of the original price back.

i wouldn't worry about it. None of your money will actually research cancer. It will go to wages, shop rents, TV adverts etc.
My tax breakdown for last year said I paid over £2,000 towards welfare, this I think is an ample charitable donation to the less unfortunate.
I'm am happy with my level of charitable donations at the moment.

I also question Cancer Charities, I don't want to be a mumbling mess in a nursing home, being pumped full of expensive pills to keep the dreaded cancer away.

What a scam of an organisation. The MD must be well over 6 figure salary a year. What research? Everyone knows it's self curable without having to pay pharmaceutical companies money to kill you off.

Shame my mum didn't know it was self curable
As she was riddled in pain not being able to walk before she passed away
If only we knew eh !!!
I am convinced about the selling on of details too. me, my wife and my sister all donated to this charity and were inundated by the same charities inside a few weeks. You have no idea how many charities are sitting on a surplus of cash, a few years ago guide dogs for the blind had millions in reserve. Then there was the tsunami appeal which raised over a billion worldwide, and supposedly so far has built 6 regular buildings (non hospital etc). As said above if you can give direct.

I must have had various terrible experiences, but I don't think I've ever seen someone use a stainless steel pan without almost everything sticking to it.
See someone try to fry an egg, you leave half of it stuck on there.

Lol yes its true.. you get half an egg butty if your lucky X)

Noticed this is British Home STORE not STORES?? Who are they?
seemed a bit dodgy thought they went out of business.
Had to take a double look. It's not 'The original BHS'. Just another company using the marketing that had been built for the original BHS.
As for pans. Are these any good, as in heavy based?

"The Qatari Al Mana Group purchased the company's international franchise stores and online operations in June 2016.[36] The group formed a new business, BHS International (UK) Limited, based in London. It launched a new website, bhs.com, under the new brand name "The British Home Store" in September 2016" Source:Wikipedia
