Kinda reminds me of the Google Nexus 7 Tablets too! .. but hands down, the Nexus 7's are STILL one of the best Tablets knocking about out there still ..... lool. :-)
Yeah if you can handle waiting half an hour for the Nexus 7 to be capable of actually doing anything after coming out of standby. YAAAAWN. Nexus 7 = Overrated, slow, Buggy Android crap.
OP .. would kinda helped if u at least mentioned the GB capacity of this Product in your 'Deal Description' or something .....

Kindle Fire HDX 7 64Gb £149.00 @ Amazon UK

Banner posted on Amazon UK main page. Couldn't find it posted anywhere so thought I would share. Price cuts for smaller storage size (16&32) as well but all at £149 so why not go for 64Gb?

Just Saw the banner, was going to post, surprised this isn't hotter.

Odd deal really, the 64gb is good value though, once you are aware of the restrictions of these tablets.

I got a hdx a few months ago when cheap in Argos, brought it back after a few days. No Google play store, and the update meant it could not be rooted, etc. also found Iplayer app on it was very poor compared to my other devices (45 mins to download a half hour show...)
I bought a refurb previous generation Fire HD 32gb about a year ago for £89 to replace the £700 iPAD that Apple ruined with an OS upgrade that kept causing memeory problems. I have been very happy with the Kindle for browsing, SONOS controller, playing a few games, and reading books. This looks like a good deal. Heat added.
I'm not keen on these but got the wife a 64Gb HDX recently and she loves it. Have some heat.
not all that is amazon is good. new kindles so overpriced and their phone fire so not user friendly.
That's a lot for a tablet, considering it is so heavily restricted and limited to the Amazon Eco-System...
You can get many good Android tablets for under £100, might not have the storage but can easily add SD cards.

Need the total price paid at the end of the contract in the title
Data is a killer. I know you can use wifi hotspots but 500mb is a joke for this amount
Yeah 500mb seems too low for a phone that is designed to buy items from Amazon which could well include ebooks, films, music etc.

Seems a rather expensive way to buy a rather 'locked in' phone

just get the 6 inch I have it and its great side loaded YouTube and all google apps does get hot at times though
This tablet is quad core, and despite the problems with you tube and bbc I player that were mentioned in reviews, this tablet still seems a good deal, and for the record the ASus Google nexus like most android tablets is top heavy with useless apps,I have a previous 2012 kindle fire hd 16gb and there is no bloat ware, nothing compared to my Lenovo or my I pad even.

Still can't believe Amazon are trying to flog these. Do yourself a favour and get a £99 Google Nexus 7 from Sainsburys - far better and less bloatware.

Intrigued as to why you can't believe Amazon are trying to sell these?

2 nieces have these and at the time we were going to get ours one for Christmas, until we tried it they are so slow compared with ipads (granted cheaper but...). in the end the nieces ones never get used, ours used every day and the nieces are getting ipads for Christmas. Cant comment against other tablets but just glad we didn't get them.

Is it definitely this version? They were only released on 2 October, just over a month ago. If they are having so many problems with them why not take them back?

Not this version but just general advice on them, that said as someone said they have bloatway but at the time not sure it's the same today ever time you went say on the internet you had to go back to amazons server even just to search.

If you have an iPhone, iPod touch also worth taking into account that if you have apps you like you need to rebuy them on Amazon, this and the speed was the main reason we went for the iPad and to be honest I wouldn't go back.

Wasn't ours to send back :(

Why would a refurb Kindle Fire HD be any different to a normal Kindle Fire HD? oO

It's not, but there were recent offers of a "previousmodelrefurb" kindle for £65 quid which this case is for :) I have no idea if the same case fits the newer model Kindle

Thanks OP - I get mixed up with what generation gadgets are (I have an iPad and a kindle, and would need to look up the model!) so this really helped me as my brother got the recent refurb deal too, so I know this will be good for him :)

Good price for those Specs. How does the Kindkleness of it differ from stock Android? This edition of Kindle is full blown Android rather than just an ebook reader?

USB 2 refers to the data transfer speed. It has a micro usb slot.

Collected today, bought one for mum too, it is only £20, the £20 includes £10 for spending over £100.
Usual conflagration at shops desperate for our hard earned! Noticed local Sainsbury's had loads of good deals on Nooks, Acers & the like, similar to that Nook for £39.99, but of course no stock! Do the staff bag em before we get dibs? I bet they do?

I went and collected one yesterday, it's not a £30 voucher, it's £20. It's a double up of the £10 promotion and this can be seen in the "special offers" part on the app

It would seem from the posts that those who have been told they will get £30 haven't yet actually got them. If anyone does get the £30 could they let the rest of us know. Also details of which store gave them out would be useful for us to follow up. Cheers!

NB, a hot UK deal -- not free for people in other countries.

True say? .. but in all fairness .. 'Anything BBC' when its On-Line IS 'UK Only' (unless 'Specified Otherwise'?), right? .. just look at BBC iPlayer alone!, & the 'Multiple Threads' via both Google & HUKD over the Years that have more then gone out of it way to spell out both 'UK Only'?, &/or Canada/Austrailia 'Work Arounds' yes? .. that in itself tells me plennnntttttttyyyyyyyyy? lol. :-)

BBC is 'Worldwide' when BCC 'Sells Worldwide'? .. simple ..... lol.

I'll wait a few weeks for (a) patches and (b) servers to quieten down. My speedyhen copy is en route. As I already have the Deluxe copy from HDUK deal for £17.00, I will put the speedyhen DVD copy up for sale in the appropriate section for £15.00 inc p&p when it arrives. Anyone interested?

Ack I didn't know they fulfilled that price glitch. I ordered with a pre-paid card but it must have run out of funds at the wrong time and my order was cancelled :(.

Even cheaper can get for £75 delivered see Martins Money tips, need to get a voucher first, just ordered mine, bargain!
This doesn't have the perv at an Amazon assistant feature called May Day :(

"Why isn’t this available on the all-new Kindle Fire HD?
Kindle Fire HD doesn’t have a microphone or compatible hardware, which is required to use Mayday."
I said its not an e-ink reader. Which it isn't, so having a backlight or not is a red herring and the questioner is confused. It's a tablet, you can use any tablet as an e-reader, I've got Nook and Kindle apps on my Asus Android tablet.

Main issue with Kindle is being locked into Amazon and not having full access to Google Play etc.
It IS an e-reader too. It's a kindle so you just download any books you want. I have one. It's great but wish it was more compatible with other apps and flash player.

waterstones are really bad for delivery ordered a christmas present from them and they finally cancelled the order in March, Never had anything I have ordered on line from them.
Just a heads up thats all but a good price.

I haven't used them online yet, but you can ask for delivery to a store and pick it up from there. Maybe if they are dealing with the shops the service is actually better.
I've got a Waterstone's giftcard kicking about somewhere with a fair amount on it. Quite fancy the HDX 4G. Hmmmmmm....

you can't really compare apple and amazon, apple sell their products at a premium and over charge the customer, Amazon's approach is to sell at lower price and make money on the book/streaming etc side of things.

Credit goes to Amazon for me and the price of the 7" HDX is a steal seeing as you can put stock Android if you wish, root as it is to put google play store on or just sideload apps you want to use from android over to it.
erko247
ha, Apple don't need to do this to sell their tablets.
Apple is for people who have low self esteem, cant read specs and too much money to waste!
If it was pay day I'd buy one for my girl so heat for me
Can I plug it directly into my TV to stream movies and content ? Oh it doesn't have HDMI out. Ok how about add more ram for extra storage you know that one thing Android devices had over all Apple devices ? Oh no SD slot, erm ok.

Looks to be a dud to me, why not just buy a tablet that works and has features that don't tie you to the device ?
Firesale!
