Does XXL indicate a lower unit price per item, or simply a larger than usual amount at much the same unit price?

Good fruit and veg offers.
Grapes will be popular, hope they can keep stocked up.
It should trigger lower prices in the Big 4, especially at the end of 'display date'.
10p grapes last night in Asda, in fact 10p nearly everything. ;-)

Ahhh! Lidi, could explain why I picked up 3 packs of grapes in Tesco local for £1.50 the lot.
grapes 59p! comparatively £1 in iceland (7 day deal) and lettuce (36p - 50p) 29p! bargain
Thank you op, appreciated, heat :)

I've seen these before (I believe the £Pound Shops used to have a version of these one time before too, if I'm not mistaken?), but are they any good though? (as I've never tried these before). :-)
I find I tend to need to use twice the amount of Lidl toothpaste to get the same effect as Colegate etc. Others may find otherwise but for me Lidl toothpaste is a false economy.
I find it (and Aldi's) much the same as any other toothpaste. No better, no worse - just hugely cheaper because you aren't paying for all the advertising and marketing. It'll be made by one of those companies anyway, to much the same formula.
all supermarkets do a cheap toothpaste. They just call it value/smart price/ basic toothpaste but it is the same thing and is priced about the same. Lidl/Aldi just give there value brands fancy names like dentalux to fool thier customers into thinking they are getting branded goods cheaper than the larger supermarkets. They have doing this with all there items for years. People save money in Lidl/Aldi because these stores do not stock many branded goods and customers are forced to buy the stores own brand, if they just bought value brands from the main supermarkets they would save as well. You also wouldn't have to wait in long queues and be rushed through the checkout having your goods thrown on the floor before you get a chance to pack them. http://m.tesco.com/h5/groceries/r/www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=255220907
Another misguided comment from someone who doesn't understand the Aldi/Lidl business model. You can't compare their products with supermarket value lines - they're far better than that and at least equal to branded items. The Tesco cheapo toothpaste you link to shows that it comes from China - unlike the Aldi and Lidl ones.
It's not a question of being 'forced' to buy their brands - it's a matter of choice, because they're every bit as good as the brand, in most cases made by the manufacturer of the brand, and at least a third cheaper.
Absolute tosh. Lidl tomato sauce is made to look like hienz but is nowhere near as good the lidl cereal is terrible. Then we can move on the fruit and veg wonky cucumbers which could almost fit in a pickle jar, bananas that never ripped just go brown within days. But since they own the farms they can obviously call lower class products class 1/ grade a or whatever they want. Then all the awards they have won, if you worked for one of these award bodies I would imagine you would be biased towards the companies who essentially pay you wages over companies who do there own marketing and research instead of paying to stick the awarding bodies label on the goods.
Batts Ketchup in Lidl is my Ketchup of choice, far better than Heinz. I don't eat cereal so cannot comment.

You realise that Lidl changed the brand name of some of its products about three times in a couple of years before they were called Batts? I suspect they bought the Batts brand as a marketing ploy. If so what a waste of money as they're the same bloody products.

of course I know. I used to buy the Ketchup when it was under the Kania name. I'm not stupid, I am able to work these things out for myself.
Lol
Sorry I started this debate. :D

What I can say is the Lidl pineapples taste as equally as good as those from the Big 4, no matter what brand label is showing. :p

All Aldi and Lidl 'brands' are just own label names they've created for their own use. They see it as necessary to appeal to those who bizarrely have to have a brand on the label. At some point they may feel able to brand everything with their own name but that may still be a way off.

From my point of view I don't care what name's on the label. It's the quality of the product that matters and with both companies it's almost invariably as good as the brand leader. And often made by the brand leader.

You are correct, prices have been creeping up and the weight of a lot of items has been coming down. Some biscuits now have a lower weight but cost the same, tuna has reduced from about 160g to about 130g but same price and we noticed last week that the blue things you put in the toilet cistern to colour the water have reduced from a 4 pack to a 3 pack but will they still be 99p?

Still continue shopping there though.......

3 year warranty.

Keep your receipt!
I have used a Phillips one for 7 years with no probs at all and decided to buy a new one for hygiene purposes and bought a Remington which broken in 4months and they replaced it with another one which broke too. I bought this one from lidl and I must say it does a very good job and feels solid build plus 3 years warranty is a bargain for that price

Sure it's shiny but are the internals any good. Will you need to change the seats in a year. Will the chrome stay on. Just because it's Lidl it doesn't mean it's good. Not the most renowned plumbing merchant
There's a lot of BS talked about taps imo. Case in point; the tap in my bathroom is from iBathUK on Amazon (the Martin bath mixer) and obviously made in China. Cost 45 quid and it's a very substantial weight for the money paid. In the 2 years it's been in it's performed faultlessly, not a hint of a drip and the quality of the chrome is very very good (we live in a hard water area).
The tap in my kitchen (I forget the make) should have been 100 quid plus (and is back up to that now) if not for Black Friday and it's a complete POS. Only been in a year, leaks constantly, nothing quite returns to the correct place when used and the chrome on it tarnishes very easily. Give me a Cheap Chinese tap every day of the week (they are probably all made in China anyway but at least don't get ripped off with the asking price).
Talking of getting ripped off, against my advice my son bought some bathroom taps from a large, national High Street bathroom chain for a total of 225 quid as a 'special offer'. recognising them I got to work on Amazon and sourced exactly the same taps (as his bathroom outfitters taps had been delivered with a 14 day refund policy I ordered the Amazon ones so we could see them side by side and compare) for 76 quid. Needless to say he returned the original taps (well, they sent a courier which was a nice touch and he got a cheque for 225 quid soon after)

Seeing this listing reminded me to go to Amazon regarding the tap I ordered back in September. It was made by ibath UK as well, this one which has good reviews. In the last few weeks the tap has made high-pitches noises as it leaks. The plumber had it last week and said the inside of the tap is wore out. The more expensive one did about 8 years before it started to leak around the seals.

Classy. I know my kids will be thrilled.
They lose it after a week so what does it matter?
Really? Your kids lose their clothing one week in to term? How on earth does that happen?
(not mine) erm, they put it down somewhere and there is no name in clothing (oh let's put it in italic) - damn right obvious really.

The Lidl Cien XXL 1 litre Shower Gel is great value and good quality. Sometimes its not advertised but is in store during the XXL promotion.
I did a bit of a shop and got some miscellaneous items.
The XXL Black Forest Ham Slices 250g £1.99 wasn't to my taste (very strong flavour of cloves) so I phone Lidl's 0800 number and they are sending me a £5.00 voucher, I thought that was very good of them.
The XXL Frikadellen 600g £1.69 (Pork) is very good.

It makes perfect sense for meal planning as on the Wednesday and thursday you can combine items from 2 offers , in these 2 deals the salad items in particular .
The deal dates don't overlap oO

Can these weeks be done separately? It'll be annoying the 14th-20th week when this deal resurfaces and all the 7-13th deals are over but still listed in the post. It makes no sense to post both weeks in the same deal.

With two smaller containers - you have the following options:

Make 600ml of the same flavours
Make 300ml each of two different flavours and consume 600ml which includes different flavours

Experiment with your own ingredients and not waste so much when it all goes Bake Off style wrong

Take it back to Lidl for a full refund if you're not satisfied

Did 2 separate shops with these on the weekend in Worcester and both times got accepted. If you are unsure then just hand them over with confidence as if you know that they SHOULD be accepted... Not cocky like, just with a bit of confidence? Although a back up plan of "I printed it from the Lidl site" works - Those people on the tills don't know either way.

Picked one of these up today.. well two of these actually. Had to take the first one back, as soon as I switched it on I could tell something was out of balance as it vibrated badly with a loud whirring noise. There was also something rattling around inside the motor housing, sounded like a screw??
The replacement looks and sounds fine tho, not going to make a cut with it until I get a finer blade. Seems like a bargain for £70
Hi burgo,
I also picked one up today - I've only turned it on briefly to check the thing works. However, there is a *slight* noise as the blade spins down - almost as though it's rubbing against something. Is this normal? As I say, it's only relatively slight, so I've no idea whether this is usual?

Hi, the noise and vibration from the faulty one was pretty bad, it was noticeable straight away and had really unpleasant sound and wobble to it, it was a lot more than just a slight vibration or rubbing while it winded down so I think your saw sounds fine.
The motor isn't as quiet as I thought it would be but it's no big deal.

I see the track is 1400 long, so will cross cut a 2400 x 1200 sheet well.
How do you fare when trying to cut a longer length? EG if you wanted to rip a sheet into two 2400 x 600 pieces...

If I need to cut something longer than 1400mm I move the track after the first initial cut. With a little bit of practice and carefull lining up you can cut it perfectly.

cut, move, cut. i don't imagine it's a cabinet grade cut so doing it in 2 goes is not the end of the world. If the cut is that good then I sorely regret the 500 plus quid I dropped on the festool plunge saw recently..

Or use a fence and slide the track along that. I think I heard these were compatible with other tracks, so pretty sure you would be able to extend.

Fruits and vegetables in Lidl Huntingdon beats Tesco and Sainsburys.

Maybe they don't look so good but definitely tastes lot better.

I find aldi fruit and veg much better quality and fresher.
Both are as bad as each other, and if Tesco aren't careful with their new cheap range they will be joining them.

There seems to be a variation in quality depending on location. The fruit and veg in my local lidl is top notch, but have heard loads of people say theirs is rubbish.

The picture is deceptive it's very small, you wouldn't be traveling somewhere to fly it as it's really only good for indoor or garden flying. The range is fine though as you'll not be able to see it well enough to orient yourself any further out.

if you want a fun indoor quad get a Cheerson CX-10 off eBay for about £13. They are tiny (half this size) so flying through almost any gap us achievable. I've got a number of larger quads for outside but I have one of these for when I just want a bit of flying fun from the sofa. My 9 year old daughter has one too and loves it.
Judging by previous comments this is not z good deal....what would you guys recommend instead??
98 foot range for 20 quid is poor?
30m range is a bit poor, enjoy the walk though.
flying time 6-8 minutes would take longer to get to a place you can fly it
