Do we need to send in a self addressed envelope? Only ever done a sun offer once before and never got anything back even though i followed all the instructions. Can't seem to see it saying anywhere we need to send a self addressed envelope though?
No self addressed envelope this time. They have changed the process. Perhaps to stop the folks that sell on ebay.
Dont see how it would do that. They just seem happy to pay to post the booking code this time

No mention of stamped addressed envelope. Yes. It does seem surprising they are willing to pay for the postage. Perhaps they will email you the code?

That's fantastic!!!
Thank you for this. I had almost given up on London Eye discounts after realising the train ticket 2for1 offer was suspended when we are there next week. I have now had a closer look on our cereal boxes as I hadn't even noticed the Eye was included on the voucher! :D
Few excluded date with these, I got caught out with them last October Half Term at The Blackpool Tower, ended up having to pay full for everyone, far more expensive than if I'd bought online in advance.

Offer EXCLUDES: the following dates: 11th – 22nd January, 13th & 14th February, 25th - 28th March and 1st – 4th April 2016 at The London Eye, 9th October – 6th November 2016 at The Blackpool Tower Eye or The Blackpool Tower Circus, 21st October – 31st October 2016 at THORPE PARK Resort, every Friday and Monday until Sunday 27th March 2016 at The Blackpool Tower attractions and 29th – 31st October 2016 at The Blackpool Tower Dungeon, 28th – 31st October 2016 at The London, York and Edinburgh Dungeons and 1st -31st December at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, 25th December 2016 and any events or concerts including Christmas themed events across all Attractions as well as any events or concerts including Christmas themed events across all Attractions as well as any secondary attractions within the Attractions for which an additional payment is or may be charged. There is current price list for London Eye:

http://www.londoneye.com/TicketsAndPrices/Tickets/
Hmm , Paying a French company to see London lol
The full normal price for this is a bit over the top, considering that a trip to the top of the Eiffel tower or Tower of Pisa can both be had for less than 13 quid each.
Standard tickets are £28.80 each if bought on the day or £25.92 if pre-paid online. There are loads of discount deals around though and if you're planning a trip to London, you can usually get pretty good combi deals including bus tours, river cruises and attractions like London Dungeon so look around first. Great freebie - there were about 250 people there by 8:30am.
However, they seemed to let people go for free well after 500 people had gone on.
Plus you also got to see the 4D film for free- which most people didn't know about.
i think anyone who wants to get a ticket will have to turn up early.

will it still rotate if it's snowing?

riders are expected to take a photo or draw a picture while rotating in order to share via social media.

the offer was also mentioned in scout magazine - apparently you have to utter the words LIFT LONDON when challenged.

An overpriced ferris wheel which some MBA has convinced people to refer to as a "flight". Wheeeeee!
Can I just show the voucher on my phone or does it have to be a print out?
I just found an old ticket stub from when I went on the eye back in 2003 which was £10.80. I thought that was steep then.:|
Very good deal cheers OP

London Eye risks being off putting to so many people on the basis of the price for what they perceive they will receive. (Step aside Public Enemy, I'm dropping bombs!)

Its only when you get on it you realise what a vital part of a touristy trip to London this is, great views and jolly good fun. Its my 2nd favourite touristy London experience after the Natural History Museum because, frankly, it doesn't have dinosaurs!

Voted hot!
nice one :)

am i allowed to vote cold just because its London? and im sick of hearing how good london is and how the Great Britain olympics as been allowed to be called the london olympics and because all the tax payers of gb get to chip and london reaps the benefits not that im bitter or anything.

Not voting either way just needed to get the above off my chest.

It's the London 2012 Olympics. Our team was team GB. But obviously London is in Great Britain.
(as London generates 17% of UK GDP from 600 Billion in tax = 102 Billion "owed" to London - the games were only circa 11B? trust me pal its none of your northern monkey money)

Events were in other parts. Surrey (cycling) Eton Dorney (Berkshire) Sailing (Dorset)
Cardiff (football) Coventry (Football)
Essex (mountain biking)
Canoe Hertfordshire

Its been a great success. A great spectacle for our country. Shows we can do anything if we want and that its just a matter of application. Competitors have said its the best Olympic setup they've been at those who were at Bejing and Sydney.

prime minister is that you?
Village idiot, is that you?

Fair enough you have a point im just bitter about the olympics with the size of the uk it should have been spread all over so everyone could benefit tickets and financially and to top it off im working on off for pittance wage for the supplier of all the athletes gear and general tat theyve been selling to the punters, to say this was apparently to benefit us all weve got a pretty crap deal up this end but back on topic the london eye is a bit pants.

I reckon that London is the perfect place for the London Olympics ;)

I'm surprised that nobody was butchered by any rogue Somalians - there's loads in London, all machete-happy.
Thanks for posting. Used this on Friday as were in London for the Games and I've always wanted to go on it.

Shame about the building in the way of the stadium (you can see it poking out each side) but there was plenty of other stuff to look at.

check out when sunset is, book it for 15 minutes before, and marvel at the wonderful scenes that unfold... if its a nice bright clear daythat is my advice

Yes great idea. I did exactly this when I did the Sydney Bridge Climb and it was great. Lovely daytime view going up and awesome sunset view going back down.
cant believe missed this deal just got back from London and paid full price! :(

Does anyone know of a good value combo to include the following sites: The Eye, Madam T, River Cruise, Tower of London, Buckingham P & Stonehinge?

Do you have to do them all in a single day?? If so that is madness (unless you are a tourist on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to London and desperate to spend your time running from attraction to attraction with minimum time to actually look at anything).

During weekends and holidays I would recommend visiting the London Eye before 11 or after 4 as queue times can be quite hectic during the day. The other three attractions are valid for a month from collection. The two for one offer expires for the london eye from 1st of May during the summer period.

Maybe it's like doing the circle line pubs though. See how many you can do in one day?

Would be a real achievement doing this with young kids in tow.

OK.. deal if you can use it in August, (standard merlin not valid)
Can easily do all this over a weekend if the queues are okay.
I guess if you are local all the 2 for 1 entries and free kids vouchers would be a better option?

I bought the paper day travelcards and the 2 for 1 offers worked for me, used them on London Eye, London Dungeons, and Tower of London. Here are some links you may find useful;Tickets http://visitorshop.tfl.gov.uk/travelcards/1-day/product/day-anytime-travelcard.htmlTrip advisor guide http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Travel-g186338-c133479/London:United-Kingdom:Paper.And.Oyster.Travelcards.2.4.1.Offers.htmlLondon transport journey planner http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2?language=en
Can you explain this in a bit more detail please, do you mean that you didn't have a national rail ticket, just a 'normal' one day travelcard and that enabled you to get the 2 for 1?

At which station/outlet did you purchase the travelcad, and for what zones was it valid?

TIA
Yes it was the normal one day travelcard, I bought the travel day cards zones 1-4 from the TFL website red card (link in my first post) as i was going to be staying in a travelodge near kew gardens. They sent me the cards through the post. If you go to the TFL website there is a zones map showing what areas are covered so you can then decide which zone card you need. Hope this helps. If you need any further information just let me know.

I.e. you are meant to show tickets that demonstrate you've used a national rail service to get to London to go to the attraction (and to get back again) - so you need return ticket to London with inward part already used and outward part still valid ... and it has to be "national rail" so journey needs to start outside the area covered by the TfL pricing zones.

I wonder if it works the other way round as well? I mean with a return rail ticket starting from London.

I'm picking a friend from the airport, I'll go there via rail but we'll return by coach (late evening arrival, no trains back).
I used this voucher this weekend and they didn't even ask to see the train tickets
The journey needs to start outside the TfL pricing zones, I assume that means it has to start somewhere outside from London. In this case there is not really a point in trying use this offer when just arriving in London by plane, a bit a shame though. I guess such a return from outside of London will cost at least 5 quid, so not worth the effort.
celestevernon01
As some of you have mentioned you need a rail ticket, can it be a ticket from any rail service?

Someone already posted the T&Cs ... important bit is
T&Cs
You must produce your two National Rail train tickets as evidence of travelling by train to London or to the attraction destination - most train tickets display the symbol. National Rail issued tickets include Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak, Travelcard, Advance, Anytime and Season Tickets.
If you are travelling on Advance tickets or similar, please ask to keep both inbound and return legs of the tickets, when arriving at your destination station. In cases where electronic ticket barriers are in operation, you should approach a member of the train company staffs who can arrange for you to retain your tickets as proof of travelling by train.
London Underground issued tickets (including Travelcards) are NOT valid and will not be accepted at any attraction.
