Just checked Kendal, none of the titles listed in this deal were available. They literally only had 2 Blu-rays on the entire shelf and one of those was Blue Crush 2.

Total Recall 2012 was a surprisingly good movie
They could have fleshed out the 'world' a bit more but yeah it was a decent effort.
My local Poundland's have never had Blu Rays, I have gone every time it's been posted here and no dice :(

We have never seen any either,I don't know if it's because they never sell them or they just get snapped up really quickly.

That's the first I've heard that he 'ha stashes of child porn'. Do you have a legitimate news source that corroborates your claim?

The story was broken by the typical rags but has since been discredited by the police and other media.

So if Gary Glitter's album was priced like this it would be a good deal? I don't understand how MJ and Mike Tyson get a free pass for the things they've done. Must be a celebrity thing.
Difference is glitter and Tyson were found guilty of their crimes. Jackson was cleared of the accusations against him. Shame sooner people don't know enough about the Jackson case to know the outcome was justified. Too blinded by one sided tabloid journalism.
For example, do you realise the mother of the kid had already contacted multiple layers about accusing Jackson BEFORE any of her family had even met him? And that she actively pestered Chris Tucker to introduce them until he finally gave in? Also she had a proven history if coaching her kids to lie in court? What about one of her kids even admitted to lying on the stand during the Jackson trial? Or that the mother did time for welfare and insurance fraud as a direct consequence of evidence uncovered during the Jackson trial?
Simple indicators not reported widely in the press. Just saying...
Remember that ITV documentary? Most people would see owning a theme park and having unrelated kids over as strange. Though I guess part of this is a big change in societal attitudes over the years. I guess men in particular have become increasingly concerned over how they should or shouldn't act around kids for fear of being branded a pedo. No doubt Michael had very much been shielded from learning such social norms having become a big star from a very young age and effectively excluded from "normal society". From that documentary I very much got the impression he was just swamped with "yes" people who would drop anything to give him what he wanted - no doubt this included the drugs that caused his death.

Though it's very easy to do 1 + 1 and get 896855. We can only deal with the facts we know of, some of which you've presented.

For some reason flubit refused give a better price. Ordered anyway. Thank you
picked it up for £24 on Friday, the newer version is available for late pledges on kickstarter (cheaper reissue of 1st game super dungeon explore with less bits, & a RPG version with newer ways to play etc, everything in Forgotten King should be compatible with newer game too -might require purchase or download of some cards). Really not a fan of one of the companies that is involved with the game (they basically screwed up some minis on another game amongst other things) but seems to be the best chibi game around

Hello,
I have read all those books you have mentioned and enyoyed them. Percy Jackson is probably for 10-14 year olds. But I'm 33 and I like them. They're not hard books to read, but they are good, fun stories.

Ok thanks for the info, in that case I might go for it (in mid-20s btw)

The 'hidey holes' are panic rooms. Most upper class homes have them.
Yeah... no. There's a difference between panic rooms and what they were. As I say, there's a ton of evidence for either side; now he's dead it's unlikely we'll ever know the truth. If he had died penniless / not worth much it'd probably have made it easier, like with Savile.
Tonne of evidence against him?!! You're pulling my leg, right?!
They found over 60 pornography magazines in a briefcase in his bathroom, all of which were heterosexual, legal, girly mags. That was ALL they had against him. No child pornography whatsoever. It was one kids word against his. What people love glossing over is the fact that The kid got caught in so many lies it ultimately cleared MJ's name.
If you honestly believe that MJ sodomized a cancer-stricken young child and then threatened to ship him off in a hot air balloon to Brazil so he couldn't talk about the abuse, then you are living in your own Neverland!
Sadly some people choose to ignore all the facts favouring MJ unfortunately. As you say, Saville had hundreds coming forward about abuse, but MJ, who had no doubt been in contact with a lot of kids only had a few, and none of them had solid claims.

This post from Reddit in a very interesting read...

The story is rather tragic. I do believe that had the internet existed in 1994 in it's current form, Jackson would still be alive today. Jackson was very much the victim of public perception. Yes, he was clearly an eccentric with many quirks, but the "child molestation" thing was hogwash. GQ published a non-bias article in 1994 entitled "Was Michael Jackson Framed?" that you can find all over the net. Here's one link: http://floacist.wordpress.com/2007/08/22/gq-article-was-michael-jackson-framed/[3] ... It's a pretty fascinating read that details exactly what happened during that first accusation. Most people haven't read it, though... because it's easier and more "interesting" (and at the time, "funnier") to imagine him as some kind of freak.
Anyone unfamiliar with what actually happened there, I'd really recommend reading it. The TL;DR: version is pretty god damn **** up. He befriended a young boy, his mother and step-father. The biological father wanted money to produce "Robin Hood Men In Tights" so he brainwashed his son with sodium Amytal in an attempt to extort money out of Jackson... knowing full-well he wouldn't want to go through a long career-tarnishing trial. There's taped conversations between the father and step-father where the father lays out his entire plan. > “And if I go through with this, I win big-time. There’s no way I lose. I’ve checked that inside out. I will get everything I want, and they will be destroyed forever. June will lose [custody of the son]…and Michael’s career will be over.”
It's whack. Seriously... read it. FYI, the father ended up killing himself in 2009 only 5 months after Jackson died: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evan_Chandler[4]
My point is, public perception in 1994 was so heavily dependent on shock media, magazine covers, radio, talk show monologues, etc. Had Reddit existed back then, we would have seen the smoking gun. People would be chatting over the details on a daily basis. It would have been very difficult for the public to remain that misinformed and warped by rumor and heresay.
But the perception stuck. And clearly it weighed heavily on Jackson... someone who had dedicated his life to helping children in need. He was clearly depressed. He turned to drugs. As we later found out, he needed to be medicated to even sleep. I can't imagine what that had to have been like..
That was the only time anyone ever accused Jackson of wrongdoing... until 11 years later in 2005, but this time it was CLEARLY **** and a clear attempt at extortion. Anyone following that trial was aware of how ridiculous the claims were. I'll summarize. It was right after the huge documentary "Living with Michael Jackson"[5] that Martin Bashir did. Jackson was all over the news for the "baby dangling" incident. In the documentary, it showed that Jackson took in a young cancer patient, his mother and sister and was paying for the boy's treatment (last I heard, he's now cancer-free). He was close with the boy and the family. It made the news, because of the scene where Jackson says, "What's wrong with sharing a bed with someone you love?" in reference to the young boy. The public took it (or twisted it) to be a sexual thing... Jackson intended it as an innocent remark... hanging out late playing video games on a massive bed and someone passes out. Inappropriate? Maybe. Molestation? No. Anyways... the mother of the boy had been in and out of mental institutions and had attempted to con money from celebrities in the past (the reason for Jay Leno and George Lopez being at the trial). She also claimed her family had been "sexually fondled" by JC Penny security after her punk kids shoplifted... she settled out of court for $152k[6] . So anyhow, the Bashir documentary was a ****, people like Gloria Allred were petitioning to have Jackson's kids taken away... and Jackson's handlers told him to distance himself from the young boy and the family... so he cut them off. It was only after that, that the woman and the boy accused Jackson of misconduct. The funny part was, they literally claimed the molestation started AFTER the documentary aired. As if Jackson hung out with the kid, let them live at Neverland, passed out playing videogames, filmed a documentary admitting that it was innocent... and then when the entire world started looking at the relationship with a magnifying glass and wanted to take away Jackson's kids (and apparently the family had already been interviewed by police)... THAT's when Jackson decided to start molesting the kid. Come on... Whole thing was a crock of ****. The woman also claimed they were held hostage at Neverland... to which they pulled up the creditcard receipts showing all the shopping sprees she was doing with Jackson's money during the "kidnapping". At one point they point out, "How could you be kidnapped if you were shopping at Nordstroms, Tiffanys... here's a receipt for a body wax". The woman snapped back , "IT WASN'T A BODY WAX!!! IT WAS A LEG WAX!! HE'S LYING TO YOU!!!" .... Total ****. Read up on it. It's was ****. You can read most of this on wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trial_of_Michael_Jackson[7]
That 2005 Trial doesn't happen without the 1993 situation. It was the same DA (Tom Sneddon) who tried to get Jackson in 1993 that was pushing for the 2005 thing. It was only mildly plausible, because of the 1993 thing. They tried to find other boys to step forward (out of the thousands who Jackson had been in contact with over the years) and nobody stepped forward. They had a former body guard (who had sold his story to National Enquirer and had previously been arrested for armed robbery) claim he saw Jackson blowing Macauley Culkin in a shower... they brought Culkin up there to respond and he's like, "WUT?" ... As one journalist put it:
>"the trial featured perhaps the most compromised collection of prosecution witnesses ever assembled in an American criminal case...the chief drama of the trial quickly turned into a race to see if the DA could manage to put all of his witnesses on the stand without getting any of them removed from the courthouse in manacles.""
Nobody following that trial was surprised by the outcome.
It's some sad stuff, man. Despite this, the perception stuck. People continued to hate him and paint him as a monster. People continued to take the rumors and tabloid gossip as truth... and I think ultimately it killed him.

The bit that swayed most people was a kid describing the patches of colour on his junk and where they allegedly moved when he became aroused.
That, the hidey holes in his house and the stuff in the estate sale... I guess it's unlikely that we'll ever know and most people will probably be in denial even if it all comes out. (After all, there are Gary Glitter apologists who bang on about him having served his time etc)

Wrong. Here's why, Jordy admitted under oath that MJ never exposed anything other than his torso to show his vitiligo patches. It is a complete fallacy to assert that Jordy's description matched, because the forensic photographer who photographed MJ has already publicly stated that there were no similarities. Wikipedia will confirm this for you. Not to mention the fact that this would have been used in court against him if it were true. It's tabloid sensationalism, not fact. Why not talk about how Jordy was drugged by his own Father in order to get him to talk about his alleged 'abuse'.

They 'hides holes' in his ranch?! That ranch was built in the 60's, long before MJ bought it and renamed it Neverland. The architecture was already completed.

The estate sale? What, bronze garden mannequins of kids playing?! Is that the best they have against him?
Rom

I guess everyone is so quick to have an opinion about things they don't understand these days. Sad really. Michael was an amazing man who donated more to charity and worthwhile causes in a year than most 'celebrities' these days would in their whole lifetimes. He was the most selfless person on the planet. We love you Michael. <3

Like that Saville fella?

They had evidence against Saville, not to mention hundreds of allegations dating back over 3/4 decades. They had nothing on MJ, nothing. Saville was convicted, MJ cleared his name in a court of law, on all 14 counts. Jordy and Gavin got caught in a myriad of lies. Nothing but extortion.

Saw him in concert at Wembley back in the day. Not his greatest fan but the gig was fantastic.
i can still hear him saying "I love you" over and over again ... which got annoying... but he was a legend.... I preferred "Off The Wall".... before he started his bleaching journey...
Why being ignorant?!? If you don't want to believe Michael Jackson himself then maybe you'll believe a pretty white (may be important to you) ladyhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aQIYHDFrB4E
Give me credit for hearing the bleaching stories 20 years ago and moving on. I've not been googling this the past 20 years hence my "ignorance". .....
So now I know he had virtiligo, i appreciate that his fame he did not allow him to deal with it in the same way as at least two people in my community....
Finally, does the virtiligo explain why his children look the way they do ? clearly they were born with virtiligo or MJ did something to make them the way they are too....
but I dont care... he was a musical legend and a freak in every other way...
Not everything is so black and white (no pun intended)! Genetics should explain it. The children had a white mother. I did some research and apparently Michael's paternal grandmother was half white and grandfather had lots of Indian blood. If you look at MJ's father he has blue eyes. And indeed, the oldest son has vitiligo. The youngest one though looks a lot like Michael in my opinion. I'm a huge MJ fan so I was always getting this game regardless, but I really enjoyed it, on Wii, when it first came out. My daughter still plays it occasionaly, it's even turned my neighbours son into a Michael Jackson fan. Yeah, he was a really normal guy, my mistake. X)

Was Jackson convicted? Did he rape anybody?I'm not saying he wasn't strange, but I don't believe he raped anybody.Edit, Oh and yes, this should be flagged as spam as it has already been posted.I've spammed it, needs one more now.

I spammed it yesterday ... the SPAM 'O' Meter musn't be switched on!

Dido has scored 12 chart hits including 2 number ones. This compilation also includes a bunch of new songs as is usual with "Greatest Hits" packages - the same with P!nk + Michael Jackson...!
Of which only 6 went above top 20, so "hits" is stretching it a little. Still I like her so worth a punt for the money :)

According to the Official Charts Company, entering their Top 75 chart equals a "hit record", so you can keep your opinion to yourself.

From one transcript of the Bashir interview:
Bashir: "Did you ever sleep in the bed with them?"

Jackson: "No. But I have slept in a bed with many children.
"I slept in a bed with all of them when Macauley Culkin was little: Kieran Culkin would sleep on this side, Macauley Culkin was on this side, his sisters in there...we all would just jam in the bed, you know.
"We would wake up like dawn and go in the hot air balloon, you know, we had the footage. I have all that footage."

Bashir: "But is that right Michael?"

Jackson: "It's very right. It's very loving, that's what the world needs now, more love more heart ?"

So, y'know... his words.
warlockuk
(Also, there's still new cases coming out at the moment. Still pending. Seriously, though, a guy in his 30s sleeping in the same bed as other people's kids - who the hell let that happen?!?)

You do know he didnt sleep in the bed with the kids right, he slept on the floor and you do know he had cctv in his room and thats what it showed right, so your still picking things what the papers wanted you to believe and havent taken the time to read the reports properly or you would know that right.
(Also, there's still new cases coming out at the moment. Still pending. Seriously, though, a guy in his 30s sleeping in the same bed as other people's kids - who the hell let that happen?!?)
Seriously, you're going with that? :D So he drank alcohol out of coke cans while around other people's kids. There's no part of that which could possibly go wrong. :)

And... they "broke into his cellar"? So he left a load of kids unattended in his house while he was away? What you're basically saying is that he's terrible around kids and has some amazingly appalling decisions but didn't bum them.

I don't read tabloids at all - the junk description thing is only one tiny piece, anyway. There's still pleeeenty of other stuff against him. Sure, none of it is conclusive, but it's certainly very, very compelling and at least borderline actionable. Did you see the stuff in the sale of his estate?

Even if they had a picture of Jacko turning an entire pre-school of kids into a human centipede he'd have the cash to get away with it. GG didn't really have the pockets to get away with being what he was. As a contrast look at Savile. So much money was tied up with him that nobody really dared to say a word for decades. No charges at all. And people were just as vehemently screaming about his innocence after he died.

It's like me calling you all pedos,

To be fair most of us don't surround ourselves in kids and encourage them to sleep in our beds.
But people only worry about that activity because the thought is in their mind about touching them, not his
That's the typical sort of things spouted by apologists, like the people who said Gary Glitter was innocent, then went on to say he'd done his time when he got out of jail - despite his victims still being underage after he got out.

It's not just a stigma that followed him - there's a lot of information in various cased that is overwhelming. There's all the stuff from his estate sale that came out, the creepy cameras and hidey holes in his house, the stuff about sleeping with kids in his bed, that whole jesus juice thing - it just goes on and on. Plus one kid described weird marks on the guy's cock and what shape they made when he got hard. So y'know...

...he bought his way out of a lot of stuff but people can stop acting all wounded when people call him a paedo.

Warlock, I don't normally reply to people directly but this post is crazy.
Gary Glitter was found with undeniable evidence, including illegal digital imagesm, linking him to crime and he was convicted. Jackson's case is completely different. The easiest direct comparison is that despite confiscating all his computers they found none (hence the fact he wasn't charged with owning illegal material, despite what many papers said).
As for Jesus juice, it was proven in court that he did not refer to alcohol directly when kids were around because he didn't want to encourage them to drink - he used the name Jesus juice instead. It's also why often drunk out of coke cans when kids were around - because he didn't want to encourage them to drink. It's amazing that the smallest details can be twisted by the press to make him look guilty of doing something he was actively preventing! Again, he wasn't charged with the crime of supplying alcohol with minors! Go, check the charges! The only time the kids were known to be drunk was when he himself was in Germany attending an awards show. They broke into his cellar, stole his booze and were discovered by Jackson's maid.
As for the gential description, the police officer involved in the investigation confirmed the press stories were false. There was no accurate description of Jackson's genitalia. This is further proven by the fact that despite being allowed to use such evidence against Jackson in the trial, the prosecutors DID NOT use it. It wasn't good evidence because it DID NOT match.
You read too many tabloids and internet gossip.

Yes. Wrong, because, as stated, but conveniently ignored, I picked up the exact copy that I photographed and it had the dvd on the flipside of the tray. But yes, nice try.

Nice try? Its there in front of you!

Perhaps it was my imagination. Picking it up, seeing 2 discs, thinking "okay snap that as it's the 2 disc one - see how much it is when I get home", looking it up on Amazon, seeing it was more - albeit with gold packaging on their version, posting it here but ohh, no I have nothing better to do than post the SINGLE disc version, ohh, silly silly me.

why do the mods not do their job, this is a duplicate deal.

? They do do their job and if you spot a duplicate thread before them you can report it but their are guidelines to be followed.

This thread was started 2 months 2 weeks ago, do you mean a duplicate of this http://www.hotukdeals.com/freebies/free-music-google-play-including-michael-jackson-s-billie-jean-2016093 ? Which was started more recently?

The rule is "Any deals can be posted, but the site is all about the hottest deals available in the UK, so run a price comparison check before posting and ensure its not been posted within the last 4 weeks or itll be deleted as a duplicate post." https://www.hotukdeals.com/help Now as it's a freebie and the one from 2 months 2 weeks ago is still open I don't know what to think - you could vote on both!

As a general rule of thumb if I find a deal even a freebie and search and can find a live one regardless of how old it is I don't post it but that is only because I am too scared of getting my deals spammed :)

Thanks for pointing out that this was the original deal :)

MJ was tried in a court of law as and found not guilty. only he knows the truth! I do not believe for one second that he was anything like Jimmy savile or Rolf Harris. his father screwed him up and the poor chap was just trying to be a kid again! anyway I digress, 99p for one of his best albums is worth it!
Nesima

Saville died an innocent man, he was not tried and convicted, so we will never know the truth of the accusations as they have not been tested in court. What we do know is there are lots of claimants as Saville was a wealthy man.

When talking about Saville - a person who faces literally hundreds of accusations - you say he was an innocent man and "we'll never know the truth" because he didn't go to court. You even suggest that hundreds of people are only after his money, yet for Jackson you suggest in your previous post that he was guilty, despite being fully acquitted in court. Perhaps I missed something but it sounds hypocritical to me.

Just think of MJ up there in heaven sat on Jimmy Saville's knee, ...................... karma.
Ummmmmmmmmm.......... Jackson was a man-child who tried to get his lost childhood back (lost at the hands if his abusive, profiteering father) through eyebrow-raising friendships with children and the most he could be accused of is being occasionally misguided in those attempts.

Savile was a monstrous PROVEN paedophile and a rapist of patients unable to fend off his vile attacks. He was a monstrous, evil piece of scum with many life-destroying crimes to his name over a period of DECADES.
So please, don't be silly.

Oh, and why in the name of Rolf Harris would Savile be in heaven??? What Gary Glitter world do you live in?

Saville died an innocent man, he was not tried and convicted, so we will never know the truth of the accusations as they have not been tested in court. What we do know is there are lots of claimants as Saville was a wealthy man.

He makes my skin crawl......

^ Most idiotic and worthless comment of the year goes to!

I bought this album out of curiosity and boy am I glad I did! I can see why this went to #1 in over 60 countries Worldwide. It's funky and totally MJ.

I'll tell you one thing for nothing, there will never be another like him again. What talent that man had! Exceptional album.

Still a repulsive individual........

His eccentricities were tedious and attention seeking and his behaviour with children somewhat troubling.......

In your opinion, not mine. Thankfully I'm not as hard-hearted. Bitterness and envy are such unattractive qualities.

Eccentricities?! I genuinely hope you never have to experience a tenth of what that man had to endure (vitiligo, lupus, frivolous lawsuits etc.). So shallow is your understanding of the man that you have to rely on insulting him because you can't figure him out.

What you claim are eccentricities are nothing more than the ugly manifestation of the way he was treated. Who can blame the man for being so reclusive in the face of such ridicule. It's so easy to take aim at this obviously flawed genius, but then again, your life wasn't under constant public scrutiny like his was ... so you have that luxury of being able to call cheap shots from the comfort of your sofa, despite having never met him.

I owe a lot to that man, more than I care to divulge on a public forum like this. But needless to say, to be one tenth of what that man was, would be a huge achievement. I love his music, but more so; I look up to and admire the man, everything he represented, everything he stood up for and for the humble way he carried himself, despite all he endured.

He made an outstanding contribution to the world of music and he made an even more outstanding contribution to humanity with his unmatched charitable work as well. He was born with a truly genuine, compassionate, generous nature ... but sadly his goodness became his curse. He was just too good for a World that has lost its perspective of innocence, purity and charity.

Ridicule all you want, but understand me when I say with certainty, that the man was no where near as flawed as your warped opinion of him.

Speaking from experience, he is not the repulsive freak/beast you claim he was.

I'm not sure who's more creepy, him or you.

You're creepy for obsessively replying in a thread for someone u supposedly don't like. Now that's weird. It's like not liking Apples yet still eating. WEIRD!!!

It's £1.50 delivered on the assumption the buyer has prime, or is spending over £10.

So it's £2.99 Delivered.

Ta for clarifying - I have prime so didn't spot that. Somewhat crazily, they're sending it our via courier!

Probably to assure that nobody steals your highly sought after item ;)

I already have Samus, Spider-Man and Link, and they're all great.
Why is Play-Asia eligible and YesAsia isn't? :|

Good to see there are alternatives, those options would not have been eligible to be posted on hukd as a deal though. Useful info for those interested.

These prices are ridiculous.

You can get pretty much all of these figma and much more using sites like Amiami, Yesasia, Hobbylink Japan and Good smile.
For example, Iron man costs £54 plus the unknown p&p. Whereas Amiami it's £37 plus £6 p&p, with chance of £13 customs charge, which would still make it cheaper.

If that's too stressful go with Yesasia, who has inflated prices but never customs charges and FREE p&p, they usually give you a $5 voucher for next purchase after too.

I use Amiami & Yes Asia, Hobbylink Japan has a v. high chance of customs charge.

Thanks for the advice - I was looking into Figma/Nendoroid figures. Of the websites you mentioned, which is the most reliable you'd say?

I would go for Yesasia if you don't want hassle or customs charges, but they do cost a bit more.
They're all reliable though, never had any issues, we buy a lot of figma and gundam kits from these sites.

Journalist Matt Taibbi wrote: "the trial featured perhaps the most compromised collection of prosecution witnesses ever assembled in an American criminal case...the chief drama of the trial quickly turned into a race to see if the DA could manage to put all of his witnesses on the stand without getting any of them removed from the courthouse in manacles."

Charles Thomson wrote a piece for The Huffington Post, "One of the Most Shameful Episodes In Journalistic History", in which he detailed the story, as he saw it, of why "the trial that was relayed to us didn't even resemble the trial that was going on inside the courtroom".

The claimants had already been cut off by other celebrities for seeking money and already been involved in a lawsuit where they were coached into testimony and given acting classes to boot, initiated by their mother who was so erratic she her testimony was objected to by her own lawyer. Herself she had a history of extortion and perjury. One of the other children involved appeared to have grown up in a similar situation, about which he was so distressed he "divorced" his parents and left the country rather than testify. It just goes on and on.

I don't think it's so much a matter of education as much as the media were as complicity dishonest as the rest. I strongly suggest reading through a whole article after the fact, because 1) it's interesting and 2) I imagine most people who feel strongly about such matters would also be keen to hang it on only the properly deserving. If not, well, maybe you'll be on the receiving end some day. Be careful what you find funny.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trial_of_Michael_Jackson

It doesn't exclusively qualify whether he was innocent of everything that ever came up, but that trial was a circus and Jackson deserved nothing he got on the basis of events there.

BOOM!

Good post :)
