They have got their act together. Why else would Google Nexus have their phones by them. I personally own the nexus 4 and the best phone I've had so far.
LG phones aren't good. My Optimus 2x is slow and pitiful compared to my Lumia 800 (which I bought because the LG was so slow and crappy) that said, the LG went pearshaped because I ROOTED it. Worst mistake I have ever made, regarding phones anyway
Awful company, beware redemptions and quidco are often not honoured. you have been warned.

Very poor customer service, do not respond to complaints and are totally unhelpful.

Do they pay you for ...... listen and stream tv,radio nearly all shift...[/quote]
I think on this occasion your pay more for the minutes and tethering than the phone, Shame really, As it is a very powerful and good looking phone, But LG's rep and the price of them sim free means it will be worth very little within the year, And you can get the Sony Z for a couple of quid more.
Yes andersh,,i need defo unlimited data,,i work 12 hours shift,,and listen and stream tv,radio nearly all shift...
Xperia Z seems like a better phone. The Optimus isn't LTE, so you won't really get the best out of that unlimited data in the long run. Also have a think about whether you really need unlimited data and check your current usage :-)

Do not touch this company with a bargepole

Wow! A whole 6 pages! Grab your kids and run for cover, the Apocalypse is coming!

Let's be serious here. Any regular XDA denizen knows that if it was a common problem there'd be a heck of a lot more than 6 pages of discussion about it.

I've been following the JB discussion with interest. Does indeed look to be on the horizon. More importantly, it looks like the camera quality has improved too.

One person noticed one spec of dust...?

Also no 'noticable gap' on mine either.

This phone now has a leaked LG JB update with root access and unlocked bootloader. Official JB update is just around the corner.
No, it's a 6 page discussion with multiple people having reported dust under the screen, granted the original thread starter only reported one. I'm not saying it'll hit everyone but it's just a risk people should be aware of (my Nexus 4 pretty much has the screen bonded to the display so there's virtually no chance of dust settling between).

That was true of pre-production models. Not the full retail product I hold in my hand. Well done for quoting a review of a pre-prod device.
I'm not actually, I'm basing my opinion on complaints by people on XDA forums.

I was on 3 for a month whilst I used it to port a number T-Mobile to T-Mobile.
Couldn't really fault it except for when I actually wanted my PAC from them I got nothing but *offers* including one man asking which phone I was going for (I lied and told him this for £15pm like it was 5 months ago) and proceeded to try an sell me a "much better" Galaxy Ace.

So 3 are fine as long as you don't have any problems that require you calling customer services.

Although, for an extra £8 per month I'd be more tempted by the Xperia Z, it's an additional £192 over the 24 months but I think the Xperia is worth it, better battery life, better camera (the video recording has a few issues on 4X), 1080p screen and it's water/dust resistant which is always handy.
unfortunately on here, its the network that gets slated and the deal/phone gets over looked!looks an ok deal to me and im not with 3! heat added
This deal has been posted before, It went hot then, And it still is.
Gooner
Its the 'All you can eat' data that's worth the money with this post, how can you compare a 500MB package with true unlimited?, A few hours of iplayer is a gig alone!, How about video chat in skype or ooVoo? come on.. if you think this is cold you must only think this is a phone for occasional calls and text, when its a full blown portable android PC with the freedom to use some really heavy bandwidth.

And contra to what others have said on other posts about this phone deal you can tether! I use tethering, and at 6 Mbps its a lot quicker than my 2 to 3 Mbps rural BT broadband. I've done nothing but smile since i had this phone a few weeks ago.

Tempting seeing as there's some ROM love for it on XDA ;)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1653
from a personal point of view i would rather pay the extra and get a 16gb nexus 4, i know that the non expandable memory is an issue for some but for me it isn't. if lg were a bit quicker to update to the latest version of android i would consider it but they have a very bad track record in this department.
regardless of what i've said it is still a lot of phone for the money

You can buy them singularly at £39.90 each.

Great, thanks a lot. I think it's great deal, especially if you're after the tariff. I've been looking deals for this phone everywhere but didn't see this.
Just signed the contract, mine even unlimited texts (not that I will use all the 3000 :)))).
And I don't need the phone so hope to get £50 on ebay.
So I will just pay £2.88pm for 500' and unlimited data. Well, I don't think any sim only deal is cheaper than this :) So thanks a lot for posting this :))

are you saying there seriously is difference between plans unlimited and all you can eat data?

There is no Fair Usage policy for internet use on 3, it really is unlimited (there is a report of them capping speed of heavy user, however). Though this one is Ultimate Internet plan which does not include tethering.

I've been using tethering on this plan, it states you are allowed on the 3 site too, and the X4 also has a portable WiFi hotspot feature which is really useful when your out and about and forgot your USB cable
It's a great phone. I've not even missed the usual different ROM every week that I used to do on my S2 and every phone before that.

Will probably give CM10.1 a go though. I like that on my Nexus 7.
I have gone for this as the deals three were offering for upgrading were terrible.
Just to update stuff..Cyanogen Mod 10.1 is currently being tested for the 4X HD, which works despite the locked bootloader.

LG have also said that Jelly Bean update will be released for this phone 'early 2013' (will probably be later than this in all honesty) and will come with unlocked bootloader..so in the long term things are looking up.

For the money I'm not sure there is a more powerful phone. I'll be upgrading to this in March if the S3 doesn't come down in price more.

I think o2x is a great phone. I personally like the MIUI Roms.
ICS / JB roms are in active development now (Google probably kicked them to release some updates since the Nexus 4)...
Not many phones can run XBMC and connect to flat screens via HDMI.
Its got a dual core processor and used to be the fastest phone available in it's prime.
Each to their own. Hot from me.
if you ca get your head around custom roms this is not a bad phone otherwise your just gambling whether the software will be buggy or not
Recent models of this phone are excellent, mine is a year old and has never given me any problems & I use it all day every day
I'm still using mine on a daily basis. Without a custom rom anbd kernel this phone is near on useless. But with a custom rom and kernel it flies and hasn't given me a problem.
Recent ics update actually makes this a decent handset and at this price there isnt another smartphone to touch it, just sold my year old one on ebay for £100 2 day ago.

Maybe ICS has sorted it out but I had so many problems with this phone on gingerbread that I would stay well clear. Random reboots, dropped signal, freezing and the camera is also really bad. I don't think that it was just my particular handset as I have heard a lot of people complain about theirs having similar problems. It was a real shame because it was well build and had a good screen. I would just spend the extra cash and get a refurb galaxy s2. It is more expensive but it superior in every way to this phone.

Well done for just buying one of each rather than clearing the shelves!
I think its store specific, non in Hattersly (manchester) or Gorton.
I bought two of these recently for a tenner each.

A great looking device and I thought the perfect match for my LG smartphone.

Oh dear .... absolutely dreadful quality. Callers often described me as tinny and robotic. I thought that the first one must be faulty so I tried the second one with identical results.

I bought another cheapo visor handsfree for £10 which knocks spots off this in terms of sound quality.

I pity anbody who paid £50 for one of these. Worth a pound I'm sure but don't be too surprised if it still fails to meet expectations.

Link??

Sorry guys, when I went to get link from T-mobile site I realised that the price I'd seen earlier this week was an upgrade offer price (£190), not standard for this handset.

Anyway, after suggesting I'd leave as my contract was up, T-mobile offered me the Razr i for free if I stay on my current contract for 2 years (£15.50/month = 300mins, unltd txts, unltd data) which seemed a good deal so I took it.

Says just below the phone "This deal cannot be purchased in conjunction with any other offers including any voucher codes or cash back sites."
Fantastic phone which i got the week it was released a few months ago.

I've also had NO problems with battery life and i leave my wifi enabled at all times.

I do have my screen set at 50% brightness with automatic adjustment enabled which helps all phones with larger screens.

On par with the S3 and better than the OneX imo with the added benefit of being cheaper. :-)

for £140 meh sure its okay, not great. but my £70 G300 beats it by a long shot..Dual core or not.

No it doesn't.

However I wouldn't advise anyone to buy an O2X either. LG's software support is disgusting and pretty soon there will be dual cores a-plenty for around this price anyway. New ones, not refurbished, lol.

@niceguyrichy,

In all fairness to you, I think your comment is factually incorrect;

i) The price of the G330 has not been released yet.

ii) Raw performance of the tegra 2 vs cortex A5 is very similar (compare the desire x to the LG).

iii) Also the LG has 8gb of internal storage compared to the 4gb on Huawei, and the LG has a IPS LCD screen, with is far superior to the TFT on the huawei.
strongly rumoured to retail at £100 even, the screen difference is meh, and mem cards cost pennies these days so that's a moot point

I'd have a Huawei over this lemon every day of the week

They are selling from many third party stores for £180, i would say it £140 at least once officially out. But the only improvement to the G330 is a physical change and its dual core. Same screen, also on ICS like G300 ( but possible JB update down the line)

Dont do it to yourself.

I had one of these, its not quick or fast or anything even with a dual core, these were 1 of the first dual cores phones to release, and it sucked. My G300 is better than this performance wise. the battery also sucks of this LG phone. There were a few problems when i had it and in the Optimus X2 community the only way to get the best out of it was to put a custom rom on it because LG would not fix any of the issues.

Dosent mention 3g
it doesnt, but i am typing this on one, and link below on LG site says it does, just a bad description on laptopsdirect website it seems ;)

http://www.lg.com/my/tablets/lg-V900-optimus-pad/technical-specifications
ye it auto updates over the air from 3.0.1 to 3.1.... it is a shame, and i think LG are a bit slack, but the price reflects this really... build quality i can honestly say is 10/10, its really solid with a lovely high res glass screen... 99% of apps work on 3.1 btw.
I cant find this on the LG UK support page. Does it ship with 3.0 then auto upgrade to 4.0 or do you have to root it to get higher than 3.0?

Edit: Seems that 3.1 is as high as it gets. Shame really.

Edited By: KTF on Nov 23, 2012 13:56
Saying that, they've updated every other android device, be it 12 months late :)
They've not said its going to be taken to ICS or beyond, no... Their's talk of mods etc (CM10) online, but I wouldn't buy it on the premise of getting beyond android 3.1 tbh

The Alcatel phone looks decent on paper, but does have it's drawbacks, oh and if you actually want a phone, not just a promise of one, you are better steering clear of the Alcatel deal.
Yeah go with the Alcatel deal alot better this deal is cold.
novak100
I would avoid that LG L3 phone.
personally I would choose that phone:
http://shop.o2.co.uk/mobile_phone/pay_and_go/init/Alcatel/OT-983

It's been posted here before.
It's Alcatel OT-983 - only 39.99£.
Better specs and software.

When I click your link it says 'welcome back rebeka' very weird! Says sign in if I click anything though...
norfolkbroadslim
What network is the £39 deal on? I can only see the cheapest being £49.95 + £10 top up at CPW. On O2 at CPW it's £59.95 + £10 top up.

Yeah, it's not the best phone, but it's hard to get a new android phone with full warranty much cheaper, especially on O2.

Much better going for the Alcatel OT-983 that O2 have just launched for £39 on their website (go via TCB for a further £5.55 cashback)

It's only the complete abandonment by LG for this phone that puts me off. No updates or open to roms

I thought it was confirmed for a jellybean update in the first quarter of 2013?

Yeah right. I have the 2X wich is confirmed Ice Cream Sandwich update a year ago, Still NOT here and ICS out of date already. LG is the Sky of Phone market, once they sell you something they forget about you.
Apparently confirmations mean nothing from lg. Shame, I'm tempted by the sd card and not being made of glass like the nexus

lol Thought the nexus was £279 for the 16GB? It all really depends on what you need your phone to do for me i would prefer the removable battery and SD slot so i would personally go for the 4X over the nexus .

I can confirm bad updates from LG. I have the first one Optimus2X and thanks to a few dedicated people at XDA my o2x rocks, last 2-3 days per charge and is snappier than my son in laws S2. But left upto LG with it 1 and ONLY update since buying the phone nearly 2 years ago this phone would be poor choice. I would NEVER buy an LG over another model again not even if they were half price.

What ROM is that you're running mate?
I was tempted before as it's been 300 quid on expansys for a while but on the XDA forums there's quite a few people reporting that have have dust just under the screen; given the large gap between touchscreen and display this is not surprising.

I think the main problem is that, as mentioned above, it has a locked bootloader which means little to no support from the ROM making community. Not that it's a necessity but LG are really poor on their updates.
Had the 2x, Lg hardware is good and cheap, but once you have the handset they will abandon you with the firmware, would never have another lg

Issues with the screen apparently. Not close enough to the glass according to techradar

I'm looking at my 4X HD now, and it looks completely normal to me. Don't understand their gripe with that.

My only issues with this phone: No Jelly Bean, no confirmed plans for Jelly Bean, poor camera, locked bootloader.

Here come the price falls thanks to the Nexus 4. Thanks Nexus 4.
Yes, contact o2 via their online chat or log in to your account once you have your o2 number and you can remove the bolt on for no cost.

If you have already used the data then it will come off from month 2 instead with a charge for month 1.
drasim
Don't even need redemption. On the same site you can do o2 contract and take off data for £10.50 a month and £9 for phone

On the same basis does anyone know if the data is removable from this deal as it is free upfront, quite interested in getting the phone this way if it is possible?

Your text here
I have the 4X for a week now and must say it is an excellent phone all round! (Had a moto atrix previously)

Great screen and decent battery life. Only down side is it may not get jb anytime soon.
The 4x is expandable unlike the Nexus 4. Having said that least you jet JB with the Nexus 4.

Pity can't order one of each colour!
My order is out for delivery today by Yodel, I just had a delivery by Yodel (a book) and mentioned to the delivery person that I had another delivery due from them today apparently.
I was told that he was delivering yesterdays parcels so it might be here later today...I won't hold my breath. Yodel, cheap for a reason :)

Update - Both Nokia Asha 300 handsets arrived this evening, two separate Nokia phone packages with accessories and both unlocked/sim free with no network branding.
There was also an envelope with the two new Vodafone sim cards, both preloaded with the £10 top up. So very happy two phones for the price of one delivered quickly (although late in the evening thanks to Yodel).

Keep us updated hope the phones arrive soon. May get the asha for pressies if the wait isnt long. Some probs here Emma but can get through the site ok. Bits like the apple comp look naff but cheap prices = cheap site I suppose
I voted hot, as I ordered the Nokia Asha double pack (or pre ordered it). The old dear wanted one for Christmas so getting an extra one for around the same price as one is not a bad deal at all.
That was yesterday, and still had no email confirmation from e2save (although using my order number I can see the details online).

Update - Just checked online again, apparently my order is due to be dispatched on Monday for delivery on Tuesday....still no contact from e2save yet though?

Edited By: zeroHour2 on Nov 10, 2012 17:19: update
Why is this so hot when it isnt even in stock? In fact none of there 241 deals are :(
