Ah i didn't mean those, i meant the T&Cs for the bonus £10 as they are different.

Great price - really dull film
Great Film, great price, HOT!
but.....
its 'Blade Runner' not 'Blade Runners'.
Great price for a classic movie; this is the best version without the annoying voice over of the original (and including the unicorn dream and the right ending) but before Ridley Scott started messing about with it.

Anybody considering buying anything from Very.co.uk needs to be aware that if anything goes wrong with their order they will have to deal with Very Customer Services. In my experience this is one of the worst Customer Services Operations around - dropped called, advisors who aren't empowered to do anything, unintelligble advisors, complaints teams that don't contact you for days on end, onerous cancellation policies etc etc. I thought I'd saved myself a few pounds with one of their deals, but I'd have happily paid far more to have a reasonable buying experience than buying from an outfit like this. Be wary!
If you bought with a credit card you could claim back you money via them.
Only if purchase was over £100 I think

If you work for Sony they can be brought for £400 shows how much the shops add to prices
Having bought and sold TV's in the distant past, buying directly from Sony, I can assure readers that the typical profit a dealer could make might be 15 to 20% and it's probably less now as I'm fortunate enough to have exited that trade 15 years ago. I'm afraid your comment is totally untrue unless I've woken up in an alternative reality where TV shops make a fortune (hint, they don't - that's why most have closed down)

However, it's conceivable that staff working at Sony might get a very decent deal to encourage them to use and promote Sony products. That's a very different thing to shops making huge profits.

ces starts on 4th of Jan where the next generation of TVs will be announced.... I'd wait till then if you can
And the next set of very high RRPs. I got a Panasonic 55CX802b for £999 this year when they were selling them off ready for the new sets. In my view until OLED comes down significantly the top end LED's are good enough for most people
If you are coming from LED to a better LED set then I'd agree with you. The problem for a few, including myself, is that we're coming from plasma and I have yet to see an LED set that even comes close in terms of colour, blacks, and motion handling. I keep looking as I'm beguiled by the 4k and HDR, but it's one disappointment after another..........which is really disappointing when LED has advanced so little over the last few years.
It's still a travesty that plasma was killed off the way it was, and idiot consumers that look at feature lists over performance are to blame - almost every feature you see listed on a LED set is to overcome a problem that plasma just didn't have to start with.......oh, and I never have to turn my heating on whilst the TV is on! :D

I replaced my old Panasonic Plasma with it. More than happy with the TV. OLED still has issues but plasmas were expensive and damned heavy. I think their cost sealed their fate

As for LEDs I think for the average viewer they give a great picture

faulty soundbars that Currys are selling thats prob why its gone cold.
I bought 2 recently and both have turned out to be faulty.
COLD from me.
Won't have been Sonos that were faulty
nah both were samsung, first one I got was a K430 and the second is K450.
I know they are expensive but Sonos are quality, and sound very good
I agree with you, Sonos are amazing but too expensive. Especially if you are looking to get the subwoofer seperate to go with it too.
Never had issues with samsung products before though so very dissapointed with these 2 purchases.
I can't believe how overhyped the Sonos playbar and sub are especially for the money! I have multiple Sonos products round the house so love the system but sound quality on an £1100 package is nowhere near where it should be!
It's not about the product cost. As an owner you know that a Sonos are still providing enhancements and updates to improve or add features. If you have a problem Sonos will respond - unlike Samsung. You also pay for design and simplicity,it just works, and even the other half will use it. She didn't go near my 7.1 Yamaha and Onkyo setups.
Just like Apple, and Dyson, the price is not just for the product.

Hey, you appear to have plenty of experience with various audio equipment so i was wondering if you could help me out?

I would love to get a Play:1 but I know it's not the right piece of kit for me.

What other speakers are there where it has wireless/app accessibility but also offers line in for record players/tv's etc?

This is what is wrong with this website in general... Many people vote cold simply because a product is outside their price range. The first comment in this post is also another example of cold voting based purely on anecdotal evidence. You couldn't (at time of posting) find the SONOS Playbar for anywhere near this price. Next time I'll post a rubbish Alba set from Argos for £20...

Not quite, this started off cold because the deal at the start included additional money off through 11% cashback which was not achievable. This was then amended although you will find that once a deal is in the negative, it tends to stay that way

Why cold? Normal price all year round is £599 and it hardly ever goes down and defiantly not this much.

I've had this camera for 6 months & it's mega, love the pocket size of it & the transferring the photos to my phone/tablet is a breeze, highly recommended by myself although I'm a novice photographer the photos it produces are mint.

I spent £53.47 at M&S, but my Quidco is tracking at £48.27. Any ideas???
Hi
Was your order a mixture of items, say books zero VAT and others 20% VAT or the whole order 20% VAT ?

Hi deany76. Yes it was a mixture of books, toiletries, Christmas decorations and other stuff. Books were about £18 of the order. I know books are zero VAT but I still can't figure it out. Total order was £53.47 including VAT

Jeez, people really struggle this much ? or maybe its just you.
I seen have people comment who are just impatient, it takes some time(as you would expect), months or maybe even up to a year, the terms and details explain it all and are very accurate, the critical details are also displayed very clearly and simply so by the sound of what you are talking about you have never even looked on the site to see how it works.
I see comments from a lot of impatient or possibly just stupid people who expect money to be in their bank immediately , start bad mouthing quidco without actually fulfilling the requirements , waiting the specified amount of time or even bother contacting support.
There have been a couple of times when i have had to contact support in teh last 10 years or so since it started, and they sort it out quickly with minimal hassle, the support ticket system is a lot better than many other sites i can think of, if they then decline you it will be because you haven't fulfilled the requirements, and they will tell you, its pretty simple really.
I imagine from the way you are posting on this you have a dislike for them, maybe you messed up and missed out on some cash you could have saved, seriously just go be butt hurt on your own don't put others through it captain.
You imply they are false advertising, so do something about it , unless of course its your mistake or failure to read, If you find their process difficult, or a 'barrier' you should really just give up on life now i think.
best of luck,
What a troll. Just because you have not experienced any issues with these cashback companies, doesn't mean others haven't. Both Quidco and Topcashback have in the past declined my claims, sometimes making me wait over a year before finally declining the claim. And these are all legitimate claims, where I have made the purchases in a new browser with cookies cleared, etc. Topcashback in my experience is the worst offender, making me wait over a year and a half on about 6 different claims, and then declining them. Ikonanddiva is right that the worst thing is that there is no transparency over any of the process, so these companies can decline claims whenever they like, and there is no way of knowing whether they have actually profited from your purchases despite declining your claim. Now my declined cashback adds up to over £100. If that is common for other users then we're talking about a lot of money that these companies could be making by withholding cashback, without any transparency or oversight.
how am i a troll just for setting things straight.
Just because a couple of people have struggled to follow the simple terms doesn't mean that it hasn't worked without issue for countless members.
If you can't deal with their requirements and timescales just don't use them, and dont get your self all wound up about it like that jabbering fool from yesterday.
If you really believe they are fraudulent, do something about it. But you won't because they are legit, and if you bothered to deal with it properly you would probably find out exactly what you did to mess things up - I notice you state no specifics of the rejected claims, this is probably you don't know the details, otherwise you would have a definitive answer on each. But rather than sensibly following up on them you come on here and blather on about what you imagine happened.
...and with 6 failed claims in a year you must be doing something special, I wonder what the real reason for those failed claims were ( if they existed ) , It's so laughable to suggest it would be any kind of fraud, false advertising or other deciet by quidco, you just make your self look ever the fool to suggest it, more so without evidence.
I can't comment topcashback as I hadn't used them, but I'm very sure they are also legit due popularity and longevity.
Now please don't make your backside any more jealous of your mouths capacity to eject perpetual amounts of feculence, if you get these funny ideas again just go straight to the doctor.

With you appearing so knowledgable about 'Quidco' can you answer the question is this deal £50.00 minimum spend ie £50.01 and you get £10.00 or is VAT deducted (as is usual with cash back) making minimum spend £60.00
If it is the former great!
If it is the later why is this not £60.00 minimum spend?

• I'm sure may folk fall in the £50.00 to £59.99 spend category and expect to qualify for the £10.00

I followed the terms on the £10 cashback bonus for a £50 spend with Zalando.

I spent £56.31 but the tracked amount on Quidco is £46.92 and the earning are £4.12. Will I receive the £10 cashback bonus as the tracked amount is £46.92 even though I spent £56.12 as it didn't state the £10 cashback bonus is on £50+tracked amounts. Also will I receive earnings of £4.12 too?

I got a price match at John Lewis for £519, so I'm suitably happy with that. Any issues I only have to deal with the store, not Panasonic directly.

What was the amex deal?

If you have the deal on your amex login you can get £50 cashback for £150 spend which can be used multiple times - I called my local Jessops and the guy agreed to put the camera through in 3 payments of over £150 and I seem to have got 3 emails form Amex so hopefully £550 less £200 Panasonic cashback and 3 x £50 Amex cashback!

Am an existing Virgin customer and phoned up and got the 20gb £15 deal, but then noticed this thread said about logging in via the portal and upgrading via the add on instead to get an even lower rate. Any suggestions on what's best to do to try and get the rate lower than £15 now?

I was informed you can, but they don't provide support if it doesn't work on your phone. I have tethered to other phones, tablets and laptop with no problem.
Virgin does not allow tethering.
Can tethering be done on the Virgin Network, Yes. Can the network detect it Yes. Will they stop you, probably not in most cases
Virgin could stop you, but the fact they don't is not the same as permitting it.

My source of information was from a Virgin Mobile Rep so I can only go by what they say, and the call centre I got through to was the UK call centre so I am assuming information is a tad more reliable, but then again who knows...

Reading between the lines from the T&Cs, it looks like its tariff dependent, and only applies if you have unlimited data maybe?

Data usage on some Virgin Media tariffs is for mobile internet services and data consumption actually on your handset. It does not include using your handset as a modem to connect other devices such as laptops and tablets - also known as "Tethering". Please refer to your terms and conditions and other communications from Virgin Media to check whether this applies on your tariff. This applies to all new and upgrading customers since 24 January 2013.

I spoke to their chat - and their agent specifically told me about apps I could download for my android phone to enable me to tether.

Maybe, still does not mean Virgin Media allow it. Ask them to give it you in writing, I would not hold your breath.

As I said they don't actively stop it but that does not mean its permitted under the T&C, regardless of what any customer service agent tells you.

Now, about this deal.
Just read this
Freestyle Contracts: Based on a 24 month Consumer Credit Agreement provided by Virgin Media Mobile Finance Limited and a 30 day rolling Pay Monthly Airtime Contract with Virgin Mobile Telecoms Limited. Credit check & payment by Direct Debit required.
So... Is this as virgin mentioned it's 24 months consumer credit agreement. Would use other words and say it's based on 24 month contract.
So what is this bull... About is monthly rolling contact if you are committed to 24.
Key word is "and". I think they mention about two separate offers in one sentence.

Tempted to take advantage of this for buying a new TV, does anyone have any advice/opinions on the how the Currys 5 year guarantee stacks up against the same guarantee from John Lewis?
What I am about to comment might not be entirely true so do check but what I am sure about is how impressed I am with RS's general help/customer services. I bought a amp/speaker package last year and they helped with so much advice knowing full well I could take that and go elsewhere for the purchase.
Fast forward to this week and I had a right go at them for my amp not having HDCP 2.2 and them not advising but they again helped with solutions and explained it was not out for consumer market at that point in time which I have checked ...

And fast forward to yesterday, I again asked for advice on a potential upgrade + to discuss an amp in their clearance. I got told that clearance one was in actual fact a loan unit to a customer who had sent his one in for repair. While I am not buying that for that reason, it seems - and this is what you need to check - that should your TV breakdown in that 6 year period, you'll get a loan TV??
Other things also impress me such as they pay for your parking up to a certain amount etc.

I do really like JL's no quibble service but RS might top it in that 6 year period + the extra year you're getting. Whether RS are still around in 6 years who knows :)
Anybody have any views on the currys 5 year warranty on TVs? About to buy the SONY BRAVIA KD55XD9305BU (same price with them, Richer Sounds and John lewis). This cashback will be worth about £150 quid... and they offer a 5 year guarantee just like JL (Richer sounds is 6)... what is the best option?

In relation to quidco though, I've given up with them and use topcashback for everything. I've had too many non payments and wrong amounts which were not sorted
We had no problems with the claims service when we unfortunately lost our cat, however they managed to remove both cats from the policy instead of just the one. This was rectified with no problems, however wasn't really appreciated when going through an emotional time losing a pet anyway.
naturelover
I've used M&S's highest cover & John Lewis highest cover pet insurance for our cats, as they include the Vetfone service where one can talk directly to a vet nurse 24/7 365. I then switch between them every year, when the high renewal prices come through the letterbox.
Is there not a time period at the start of a new policy where there is no cover?
For example.... if your pet is a bit unwell, you phone up, get it insured, and then 2 days later take your now sick pet to the vet.....
I thought there was an initial period where you could not claim to prevent this happening?

With my House insurance, there was some legal cover (for disputes with neighbours, employment issues etc....)
One year I was suddenly made at risk of redundancy .....and I suddenly remembered this legal cover on my house insurance - phoned them up, only to find I was not covered if the problem occurred within the first 6 months of cover......
Like you, I shop around and get the cheapest car and house insurance (and cash back via Quidco etc)..... but then found on some aspects (such as this legal service) because of my switching insurer each year, I was not actually covered for 6 months out of 12.
foxykelli
Someone saying they've still not had cashbook 5 months after buying.

Yes, I haven't received Quidco from another Tesco banking product and they don't allow investigations by Quidco.
Note, that having worked in insurance; the people who NEED the insurance the most are the one who say they cannot afford the insurance........in which case even the cheapest insurance from ANY insurer is better than NO Insurance!

I would like to add, from personal experience, many years ago I signed up for unlimited data and when I used it streaming movies one afternoon when I got locked out, I recieved a £200 phone bill which was removed from my account despite opposition! The reason given was fair use policy and a sub clause of the contract where the actual limit was 500mb
After this and many costly calls to customer service, I decided to give up- so I hope this lesson will help someone else- as I have found BT's customer service to be painfully unhelpful and would advise anyone else to just not go near Bt for anything! , unless they like dealing with beurocratic organisations!
