Good price, great collection.
Good offer but since we all got it free for watching the e3 conference, only new console owners will have any interest in this.

Nice price & a decent game based off the demo!
Will wait for a different seller though as not a fan of Grainger Games.
Don't know about anyone else, but I can't get grangergames website to load.
For £16.99 it's worth a punt. It's better than lotf and will more than likely scratch that souls itch you maybe hankering.

Price drops are down to bad sales doesnt mean the games bad it got a 73 metacritic
Indeed - there are better examples of this around as well.

Such as Dishonored 2?
I enjoyed the demo. It obviously weren't as good as dark souls or bloodborne but it weren't bad by any means.

Good deal but the servers are near enough dead for this sadly. Many of the modes you'll be lucky to find anyone playing - which is a shame since the MP p!sses all over that of Titanfall 2 IMHO (despite the second having a great SP campaign that I thoroughly enjoyed)

Best game ever, preferred it to the sequel for multiplayer. Give it a go if you haven't yet.
Does it have a campaign? Any good?

2nd one does which is excellent.

You probably would be better off throwing the £3 at the £17 odd price that ea access often drops to.

Played the pretty extensive demo..quite enjoyed it..the souls influence is obvious..respawning enemies, build your weapons up etc etc
Quite a polished scientific take on souls. Will probably pick it up when it hits £15..which wont be long at this rate.

@ynnuT@Fader209 No worries folks , was only released on to the store recently so figured not everyone would know , also going to give it a go myself when I get chance , if I like it I'll add it on to my Boomerang list for rent :D

For anyone unsure about this there is a free trail/demo of it on the PlayStation store
Cheers for the heads up, will give that a try!
Below £20 is my biting point for this (providing the demo is alright).
Just thought Id add you can get this discounted if you are a new customer with the code WELCOME.
Demo on PS4. It looks nice and runs very smooth. Gameplay is fun as well but my issue is that enemies respawn when exit and re enter parts of level which gets tedious after a while.

No idea how much tbh. I wasnt even aware limited edition could be sold as a digital code. Sorry if I gave you wrong information but was only stating what I thought. I really did think the description for the product was a mistake where it said digital at top of screen.
No need to be sorry I still thought it was a bargain regardless of it being the pysical/digital version, as I said i can go on it with my brother so it's better to own the digital version to be honest, I'm just thinking if i sell the steelbook and few extras included with it (obviously without the game code). Then there might be someone willing to give me a few quid, I find the Steelbook pointless to keep (even though it looks nice) when it isn't being used to store an actual game inside you see...

Ok it came today, the game is a digital code to redeem so I can share it with my brother so even better than I thought, works out at £4 each for us to both play online on it, was a bit disappoited it wasn't a physical disc until i thought of the game sharing feature. So I'm made up, might even sell the steelbook and extras too... how much would i get for them do you think?

What's the verdict then? As a fan of Destiny 1, particularly crucible, I wasn't too keen on the gameplay changes they've implemented. What is the point on the new weapon categories? Primary, secondary and heavy was perfectly fine. 6V6 enabled interesting maps and the best mode ever 'mayhem' - that's going to be, well significantly less 'mayhemy' in 4v4. Oh and the terrible ability cooldowns....what are they thinking? Bungie seem hell-bent on making the game dull. I could forgive some of these changes if Destiny 2 was technologically superior to Destiny 1...you know, like...60fps (not even 4K 60fps on XOX), but no it remains 30fps...(unless we join the master race of course!) Ultimately, this could have been another expansion rather than a new game costing an arm and a leg again! Pre-order cancelled. Meh! I'll wait until year 2 when they've listened to the community and turned it into the game it's supposed to be (hopefully).
Don't count on it, they are just bothered about making money off the fools who pay for the game at retail price and get every expansion pass on release day, just like they do with cod every quarter, i'm fed up with activision, they treat gamers like idiots and expect people not to just boycott their games, considering the budgets these games have they should 100% run @ 60fps, and the online servers should be amazing, but with cod the servers are always crap (not sure about destiny servers never bother with 1) and with destiny the controls are awful compared to cod, battfield, etc. Can't win with Activision it seems! i played the destiny 2 beta and it felt horrible to control my character and the customisation of the control settings was laugable, go from 3 sensitivity to 4/5 and you can no longer aim the gun at people without it being uncontrollable, I had 1 game where I got 20-1 but i still felt like it was just a crap experience and I knew it would be with the 30fps on a shooter in 2017

Looking forward to Sonic Mania. Tbh I am a bit weary of games that release cheap. Seems like a trap.
Sonic games have never been full price recently. Generations launched at £29.99 and that was great, this looks like Generations 2, which is fine by me!
Generations was awesome. Will wait for the reviews on this one. Sega don't have the best record lately.

Puyo Puyo Tetris was great, Yakuza 0 was great, Total War Warhammer was a lot of fun, Endless Space 2 was great too plus the Vanquish and Bayonetta ports were pretty good. I don't know where you're coming from with Sega being bad of late. Aside from Sega Forever being a bit of a **** up they've been putting out great games over the past 2 years or so.

It couldn't possibly be any worse than Sonic 4 - paying to download parts 1 and 2 of that mess was like burning a £20 note.
I can't wait for Sonic Mania - ordered it from PSS last month. This I'm not too sure about, 3D Sonic games tend to be a bit crap really.

Great price for a great game. Played it on PC and picked a copy up from GAME a few days ago so looking forward to trying the console version :D

I have it on PC too but couldn't help but pick up this version too at this price if just to reward the developers and hope that we see more strategy titles on console as the genre is often badly underrepresented on console but this generation might signal some change as it hasn't been half bad e.g. Constructor, Tropico, Cities Skylines, Industry Giant, Prison Architect etc....

Got these a few months back. Great headset for the money, very comfy over long periods and the sound quality is noticeably better than my previous headsets. The microphone however is sadly not the best for any kind of recording. I use an external dac to improve it somewhat but it's a bit of a bandage solution. Totally fine for gaming voice chat though!
Are your using these on console or pc? I like the look of them but am not overly enamoured at paying for features I can't use having not joined the PC Master Race X)

I'm using these on PC. I don't use the virtual 7.1 though, imo virtual surround in general is a bit naff. Still have zero problem locating sounds positionally. It's a great headset for the money in terms of comfort and general audio quality.

I know they will work, they just seem a bit bog standard on console with half the features disabled. Not sure whether they're worth £50 or not. I'd like them to be!

Well, they seem to do well in the reviews I've previously read and as they are normally £75 and can be used on multiple devices, it seemed like a good deal to me but you can get even cheaper headsets if you're not fussed :)

Are your using these on console or pc? I like the look of them but am not overly enamoured at paying for features I can't use having not joined the PC Master Race X)

They are expensive. These should be around £30 by now.

It was one of yesterday's top deals at this exact price and from the Sister company of this (basically an identical deal went red hot) . I guess you missed that. This is an excellent deal. These for £30 would be the deal of 2017.

ordered, does anyway know if they take money out straight away or at later date when it gets shipped?

WHEN WILL PAYMENT BE TAKEN FOR MY PRE-ORDER?

We understand that not paying for your pre-order too far in advance is important. For this reason, we will attempt to take payment for pre-orders 1-3 days before the official release date once we have the items in stock and ready to ship, so you're not paying anything earlier than necessary.

However, orders placed with Credit/Debit Card that are for items that are released more than 90 days from the date purchased will need to be charged in advance. We will email you a few days before so you can ensure you have sufficient funds available in advance.

Payment for orders placed using PayPal will be captured when we dispatch your items, unless your order was placed more than 28 days before the official release date. In this case, your payment will be captured within 28 days of your order being placed. Please ensure you have sufficient funds available in your PayPal account at this time.

Anyone thinking of playing this and getting the scorpio later in year, maybe wait as they will release a 4K patch upgrade for it.

Be nice if they fixed the bugs too
Bought for £14.99 in previous sale, still haven't played it. I hear it's pretty good though ;)

An amazing game. Thinking off holding off playing more. Heard their releasing a pro patch down the line.

If the MWR is tied to the XB1 disc, how come when I've seen the legacy for sale in CeX it says 'no DLC', suggesting MWR isn't included?
MWR isn't DLC. The disk has two games on it.
I've got this and never played Infinite Warfare. Only installed and played MWR
Yeah I just did some reading and worked this out, looks like it applies to the maps. Cheers for heads up!
Watching some sold on eBay with a view to saving a few quid against buying the MWR standalone when it comes out.

The standalone is already out, and the price is a joke in comparison to what you can get the legacy edition for. You're definitely going the right route to get MWR.

Well I got IW on Prime Day for £3 (£8 less £5 voucher for slow delivery), will just either look to return or sell it to claw a little back.

I have like 43 copies of this from random codes emailed to me from epic and buying other things. How doesn't everyone own this by now?
I own this digitally, but I prefer having a hard copy as well since they are always the safer option for games/movies/music etc.
Safer option? I guess I know what you mean but I can't see us all suddenly permanently losing access to all of our digital games without there being some sort of alternative solution, barring some sort of cataclysmic event - in which case you'd have bigger problems!
Its not unheard of. I have bought digital music from various sites throughout the 2000's and at the time the sites were very popular and nobody thought they would disappear, they did and I lost all my music.
To a lesser degree it also affected Xbox Live, all DLC content I bought for my OG Xbox games was erased when OG Xbox Live was shut down
Its impossible to own digital content forever, unless somehow in the future the content you buy is universal across all companies and platforms. A game/cd/blu ray i buy now is mine for 10/20/30 etc years or for however I want to own it for.
It is possible to own digital content forever if provisions are made for the transfer of digital rights to new platforms - which is what Microsoft obviously neglected to do when they shut off Xbox Live for the original Xbox. They seem to have learned from that, as you can buy an Xbox 360 game digitally and play it on the Xbox One (provided that it's on the backwards compatibility list).

FIFA felt like it was standing pretty still to me, so I went back to PES in 2016 and haven't regret it at all. The game seems so much more fun to me - and the master league is something I really missed when I was playing FIFA.

I'm the same. Seems to be getting better. Played the free trial mode a fair bit on pes2017. Apparently this is the biggest step up for pes in a while, whereas I'm not sure Fifa will change much.

xbox one console controller

Xbox One Entertainment Centre

It's tough to deny the appeal of Microsoft's Xbox One console. With the exception of its minimalist, back-to-basics design and speedier game performance, you can look forward to the same features that made the earlier Xbox 360 such a hit. This in-depth buyer's guide to Xbox One will examine how Microsoft strikes a balance between style and functionality with the Xbox One's simple exterior before taking a closer look at what's going on beneath the hood. For anyone making the tough choice between the Xbox One and Sony's PlayStation 4, we'll put the two giants shoulder to shoulder to show you that differences between the two are actually few and far between. Finally, you'll discover the pros and cons of the Xbox One in addition to cool features you may not have heard of and additional accessories to take your gaming experience to a whole new level. But before we get to all that, let's take a brief look at the history of the Xbox.

Xbox One: Home Video Console from Microsoft

Microsoft made its mark as a formidable player in the video game world in 2001 with the launch of the original Xbox console. Up against Sony's eagerly-anticipated follow-up to their original PlayStation, Microsoft played their trump cards, superior graphics technology and exclusive, Xbox-only title, Halo: Combat Evolved, to steal market share away from Sony and start building its cult following. The demand for the Xbox was so massive, in fact, that Microsoft had no choice but to postpone its European release date to ship consoles to Japanese gaming enthusiasts.

Microsoft has continued to bring awesome game play and entertainment to new generations of gamers with the release of the Xbox 360 in 2005. This next Xbox iteration gave users a way to access online games, download new demos, and stream media like music and videos; all through its Xbox Live service. Plus, any content saved to the removable hard drive could be played on a friend's console simply by swapping in the new drive. Xbox 360 gamers were also treated to wireless controllers, console colour choices, and new editions of its most popular title, Halo.

xbox one bundles

Xbox Kinect

Kinect, developed for the Xbox 360 and released in 2010, lets you control gameplay without the need for a traditional controller. Users interact with the game using body gestures and spoken instructions that are detected by Kinect's camera and microphone. Sitting inconspicuously next to your other media appliances on your TV stand, Kinect gets you off the couch and puts your dancing and sporting skills to the test like never before.

Despite Microsoft's expertise in computer technology, Xbox 360 gamers were often confronted by the dreaded red ring of death, making their console unplayable without hardware technical support. Fast forward to today, where you’ll see that the refined, more reliable Xbox One has put Microsoft's hardware failure problems behind them while delivering an eighth-generation gaming experience.

Xbox One Technical Specifications and Features

There are a number of factors that help explain the evolution of home game consoles to the current eighth generation, such as higher resolution, enhanced social tools, and greater all-round entertainment options - all thanks to improvements in interface design and gaming hardware. To better stress these advancements, here's a brief overview of the technical specs of the Xbox One:

  • Console design: Xbox One takes on a more streamlined design than its aesthetically-appealing predecessors, looking more like a standard black VCR unit than a highly-developed gaming rig. It also offers greater ventilation via two large top and side vents to prevent hardware faults caused by overheating.
  • Hardware: The Xbox One is equipped with a 500GB, non-replaceable hard drive and a Blu-ray optical drive. Games are powered by two quad-core AMD processors (total 8 core AMD Jaguar Custom at 1.75GHz) and a full 8GB of DDR5 system memory.
  • Software: Two operating systems installed on the drive ensure one set of dedicated resources is allocated to a high performance gaming experience and one set to everything else like apps and navigating the user interface.
  • Controller: The wireless controller also looks cleaner than those shipped with the Xbox 360 and has a more ergonomic design, thanks to comfortable hand contours and minor location changes to the analogue sticks. It can be used on battery power or be plugged into the console using the micro USB charge cable when battery reserves are running low. The intelligent controller can also tell when you're not using it, correspondingly entering a low-power state to further conserve energy for longer game time.
  • Headset: The official Xbox One stereo headset offers clear voice capture with its unidirectional microphone and the detachable headset adapter lets you adjust audio settings effortlessly.
  • Kinect: Greater motion sensing and voice recognition is possible on the Xbox One. This is mainly due to the improved 1080p HD camera resolution and complemented by re-designs in the user interface.

Xbox One – Unboxing

Xbox One Bundles

To save game-lovers from buying expensive games and upgrades after the initial outlay in the console, Microsoft has introduced a number of bundles for the Xbox One. You’ll be able to grab the basic, 500GB console along with a single wireless controller, and the game of your choice (from a specified list) at the lower end of the bundle package spectrum. Spring a little extra and you can get more games and double the storage. The games included are usually part of a series like the Rainbow Six Siege bundle that comes with two classic Rainbow Six Xbox 360 games and a new title for the Xbox One, for example.

If you prefer first-person shooters in outer space to counter terrorism, there’s a limited edition Xbox One Halo 5: Guardians bundle. It comes with a snazzy metallic 1TB console and wireless controller, custom-designed in a military style with unique Halo sound effects, Halo 5: Guardians as a full game download and several Halo-inspired extras and animations. All this adds to the deeply holistic Halo experience.

Just like the fight between the Xbox and PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 versus PlayStation 3, Xbox One directly competes with PlayStation 4 in the battle for sales in the influential Japanese, North American, and European markets. Unlike previous battles, however, the Xbox One was no match for the PS4, which reportedly sold twice as many consoles as Microsoft's latest offering over the same period since their launch. But as you can read from the Specifications and Features above, the Xbox One boasts impressive technical specs that are on par with the PlayStation 4.

Intrinsic Values

Both consoles have comparable system memory, with the PS4 winning out slightly with their 8GB GDDR5 against the Xbox One's 8GB DDR5 – the G in this case highlighting the PS4's ability to handle faster graphical processing between the CPU and GPU. With 8GB DDR5, Microsoft and Sony are over-delivering on available system memory since the latest 1080p games won't demand so much system RAM.

As far as processing prowess is concerned, the Xbox One fares slightly better than the PS4. The 1.75GHz AMD 8-core CPU versus the same CPU in the PS4 clocked at 1.6GHz produces greater processing power but this doesn't necessarily transform into greater performance. Rather, the extra processing power of the PlayStation 4's 1.84 teraflop GPU built around AMD's Radeon technology outclasses the Xbox One's similar spec unit rated at 1.31 teraflops. With the added benefit of GDDR5 modules communicating with the GPU, Sony's PlayStation 4 can render graphics faster and deal with complicated in-game features like shadows and shrubbery. In a number of tests performed by tech review sites and next-gen gaming enthusiasts, the PS4 appears to offer greater image clarity, noticeable only in a side-by-side image snapshot comparison of games.

The Games

Speaking of games, the imbalance in total sales between the two consoles could be linked to the variety of games available on the PS4 compared to Xbox One, particularly those created by independent game developers without the backing of an official publisher. This is the clearest example where the PlayStation 4 holds a clear advantage over the Xbox One, since the former has proactively supported self-published games since the console’s launch and Microsoft has been slow to introduce their own developer kit.

Storage and Connectivity

In the data storage stakes, both consoles come equipped with 500GB of internal storage as standard, with Sony letting its users replace the hard drive without voiding the warranty. Due to user feedback, however, you can now add extra external storage to the Xbox One as long as the drive is at least 256GB and compatible with SuperSpeed USB 3.0.

As far as internet options go, both consoles feature gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity and support 802.11 b/g/n, with the Xbox also supporting the older generation 802.11a band. If you're wondering why Wi-Fi connectivity is important, it is used to stream and play games from a Windows 10 PC. Using different bands can reduce interference issues, while allowing better video and audio quality more akin to streaming over a wired network.

Although you're not likely to be carrying your console around with you, the Xbox One weighs a hefty 3.56kg, falling short of the PS4 at a slimmer 2.75kg. The PS4 is smaller than the Xbox One (10.8" x 12" x 2" versus 13.5" x 10.4" x 3.2") and offers less connectivity options; focussing more on game performance than extra features. The Xbox One, on the other hand, sports a healthy collection of ports, including an Xbox One Kinect port, an Ethernet port, an IR blaster connection, HDMI in and HDMI out, S/PDIF for digital audio and two USB ports.

Xbox One Elite

In their attempt to recapture top spot from their rivals, Microsoft worked tirelessly on the Xbox One Elite. No apparent difference can be seen in the console's exterior, but the biggest upgrades include the drop-in replacement of the 500GB HDD to a potent 1TB SSD hybrid drive and an advanced Xbox One Elite wireless controller. Apart from double the storage space of the standard Xbox One, combining a traditional drive for storing games and other data with solid state technology for frequently accessed files translates into a very noticeable 20 % boost in game load time, according to tests performed by Microsoft.

The new Xbox One Elite wireless controller gives you customisable design choices like swappable analogue sticks, new D-pads, back pedals, and joystick sensitivity. As a result, the Xbox One Elite wireless controller could be a great solution if you have challenges with finger dexterity and find the standard controller too bothersome to operate.

The Xbox One S

In August 2016, Microsoft unveiled the successor to the Xbox One - the imaginatively named Xbox One S. This new version is slimmed down and sleeker than its older brother, boasts improved video capabilities along with enhanced processing power.

Here are some of the main ways the Xbox One S differs from the standard version:

  • Size - Microsoft have gone back to the drawing board and reduced the weight of their console by 40%, making it easier to store and carry around.
  • Video - The newer version now features 4K ultra high definition (UHD) video, enabling playback of movies, TV and games in crystal clear quality. You'll notice the difference if you've become used to playing on the Xbox One.
  • Controller - There's even an updated controller. The familiar Xbox button layout has been retained, but with added rear grips and more Bluetooth compatibility with other devices - so you don't just need to use it for Xbox games. It could be used as a TV remote too.
  • Ergonomics - As well as reducing the weight of the Xbox One S, Microsoft have designed it so you can store it vertically (not just on its side).
  • Storage - The previous Xbox One console came with 500GB of hard disk space. For the new version, Microsoft have opted to add a massive 2TB of space, to suit newer, memory hungry titles.
  • Power - The older Xbox relied on an old-style external charger for its power supply. This time around, the Xbox One S employs an internal "power brick", reducing the need to wrestle with cables.
  • An Integrated IR Blaster - Thanks to the integrated IR Blaster on the Xbox One S, you can use the Xbox controller to manage your TV, speakers and DVD player.

The Xbox One S Compared to the PS4 Pro and the Older Xbox One

Why would you choose the Xbox One S over the PS4 Pro? Both systems are top of the range (as of early 2017). However, it's worth noting that the PS4 Pro outperforms the Xbox One S in processing terms and has slightly higher video resolution. On the other hand, the Xbox One S comes with an integrated Blu-ray player - a huge bonus for movie lovers.

What about the older Xbox One? Has the Xbox One S made it obsolete? Not really. There's a price differential between the two systems, which may sway some people. Moreover, while the Xbox One S delivers great visuals, not all games take advantage of the extra power. But if you want HD Blu-ray capabilities, the Xbox One S is the system to go for.

Bear in mind that 2017 or 2018 will probably see the release of Project Scorpio - Microsoft's ninth generation console, which is likely to blow the Xbox One S out of the water. But if you want great specs right now, it's an excellent purchase.

Pros and Cons of the Xbox One

Despite lagging sales, the Xbox One is still a cutting edge console to rival the PS4. Let's briefly outline the pros of owning one:

  • Games: Xbox and Xbox 360 games are locked to each region they are sold in. The Xbox One doesn't hold gamers to this restriction. This means you can bring and run your game discs on holiday and play on any Xbox One unit overseas. Note that this does not include digital content or games from China.
  • Reliability: This is a big one. Too many support tickets raised on the Xbox 360 meant that Microsoft had to fix issues with overheating, which they have done with a better cooling system and increased ventilation for non-stop game play.
  • Bundled accessories: All Xbox Ones come bundled with a Kinect sensor, a headset for chatting online, and an HDMI cable for advanced picture quality.
  • Health: With a more accurate motion sensor, Kinect on the Xbox One can monitor your heart rate and make sure that you're working out at the right pace during cardio sessions.
  • Apps: Microsoft offers the greatest selection of apps in the games console world, including YouTube and Netflix. Up to four apps can be running at the same time, for true multi-tasking.

It's not all good news, though. Sadly, the Xbox One still fails to deliver in the following areas:

  • Backwards compatibility: Xbox and Xbox 360 games are not universally backwards compatible with the Xbox One, although Microsoft may address this in the future. But the PS4 isn´t backwards compatible as well.
  • Always-on internet: Microsoft originally told users to have a constant internet connection to use the console. Now no longer the case, after a colossal backlash from angry users, you still need to enter offline mode and download games to the HDD to play offline.
  • Design: The advantage of its sleek, ventilated design means it won't overheat and fail. The downside to this reliable design is that it can't be placed on its side and save space on your desk or TV cabinet.
  • Expensive membership: In order to get involved in multi-player games and join in with players around the world, you need an Xbox Live Gold account, which comes with a hefty annual price tag.

Available Accessories for the Xbox One

Any good games console will provide a wide range of accessories to enhance your gaming experience. For music lovers, the Xbox One supports wireless guitar, microphone, and drum kit controllers while the Xbox sound bar channels audio around your room without the need for several wall-mounted speakers.

Wall mounts are available, though, if you want to place your Kinect sensor in a more dance friendly spot on your wall above or below your flat screen TV. The other benefit to this is that you'll be able to move more freely, rather than trying to aim your movements directly at your console located on your TV cabinet.

Rev heads can simulate the driving experience with steering wheels, gear stick, and foot pedals, while driving chairs bond these three functions together in a drive-friendly chair. This is perfect for running countless laps and taking sharp turns on top racing titles, like Forza Motorsport 6.

If the bundled Xbox One headset isn't up to your usual high standards, fans of online multi-player games can communicate better with team mates and opponents during campaigns with the advanced noise cancelling and chat control features built into high-tech wired and wireless headphones.

Opting for the Xbox One will come down to a few essential criteria. It has plenty to offer for the casual gamer seeking a modern, all in one game and entertainment package thanks to its interactivity with both TV sets and Windows computers as well as the bundled Kinect unit. Hard core game fans will appreciate the next-gen graphics and improved reliability over the Xbox 360. For an extra investment, the Xbox One Elite offers speedier game load times, while the wireless controller is worth considering if you need to take pressure off uncomfortable hand and finger placements.

eBay and Amazon are just two of the big merchants selling the Xbox One online, usually offering good discounts on starter packs, as well as unique bundle packs during Christmas time and Black Friday. Many high street stores like Toys R Us and Argos are also giving customers the chance to grab a bargain, often selling the console cheaper on the internet than in store.
