Many thanks to the OP, bougt one of these a few weeks later than this with the free battery upgrade. Still waiting for delivery but if your after this exact product after quidco and education discount its a bargain. Ran it through my company and it came out at £710 before VAT with quidco with a free extended battery. Not for everyone but for my needs ideal.
Z series are nowhere near the MBA build quality/design, anyone who had both will vouch for that. Also 13 inch MBA has a 16:10 screen, 16:9 on a laptop (or anything other than an HD TV) is a joke.
do you guys really have nothing better to do? its a f'ing shopping site, lets get some perspective here and put the toys back in the pram eh.
Flombard

wood in the head better than air? dunno, i must be thick but then not as thick as flombard.
cheer up you never really lost as you were never really in the running.

Your lack of mathematical understanding is matched by your lack of grammar

give it up, you tried and failed then omitted a period making you a hypocrite into the bargain.

The best TV's atm are the 50" Samsung from Currys for £599, the 50" Panasonic from M&S for £669 and the Samsung 40" at £605 (with code) from Argos IMO.

These are the 3 I'm mulling between.

50" at M&S..... where?

Having owned a Toshiba and currently owning a Panasonic, the picture is better but not twice as good. I'd say prolly 10% better in reality. Yes you get much blacker blacks but you lose brightness...
can anyone reccommend these - they're in the very sale all are £599 + 8% quidco

Your best bet for advice is to search the AV forums http://www.avforums.com/ for the model number of the TVs that you're looking at. That's what I did when I was looking for one. The people there will know a lot more than what I do.
