Dont worry, got some info -->http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Checkout

Ebay won't let you put google checkout as a payment option on your listings....if you do they pull your listing
Seems like they don't want paypal to have any competition

Thanks again

Edit: now my thread has been just undeleted, as I typed this one - but this offer is not just for Ebuyer.

Go to Google Checkout and create an account and it lists all the merchants that are participating -

Key ones for most people are Empiredirect & Ebuyer but wide range of merchants particpiating.

i have just tried to order something via the google checkout and the delivery option keeps defaulting to saturday delivery with a surcharge of £20 - very bizarre??
anyone else having this problem??
#14
Thanks to the OP for this! I was planning on buying a "Belkin Wireless Gaming adapter / Client Bridge" (my old Zoom GamePoint only supports WEP - the Belkin supports WPA with a firmware upgrade) only yesterday, at £40 (including delivery) ... thanks to this I've just bought it for £30 with super saver delivery!

Voted HOT and rep given!

Note: Google Checkout does NOT support Visa Electron cards

To (possibly) answer two questions from above:

Sin_of_nature, the instructions said that you were not to log-in to your Ebuyer account first, could that be the problem? Personally I did log-in to Ebuyer first and the discount still showed OK at the Google Checkout sign-up page. Maybe if you try logging out and then back in later it might be OK?

Davies665, This is something I've done in the past, after you select the shipping method, click elsewhere on the page because if you don't the shipping method is still highlighted. Then if you use your scroll-wheel to scroll the page down it will actually scroll you down to the Saturday delivery option and automatically update the total. Took me ages to realise what I was doing wrong!

Cheers,

B.

i was trying to buy a gaming adaptor too - did you not have the problem i have stated about the defaulting on the delivery???
#18
I've just purchased with Google Checkout at Ebuyer, I had to manually change the date of shipment to my specified day, perhaps thats where yours is?
#19
i will give it a go

thanks

eBuyer does not ship to this address... this is total rubbish, I got a hard drive delivered from ebuyer this morning!!!

Seems it doesn't like Scotland. Tried a few English addresses and it was fine. Even 10 Downing Street! I might get big Tony to forward it on to me ;o)

A few days back I was browsing the RAM on Ebuyer and I'm sure quite a few had free delivery marked against them. They now don't, does anyone know if Ebuyer have a special day where they offer free delivery?

Thanks.

Here's a great use for this discount that may appeal to anyone who bought one of the latest Dell deals with only 1gb RAM (this is the type of RAM Crucial recommend for the e520):

Crucial 1GB DDR2 533MHz / PC2- 4200 Unbuffered Non ECC - £37.02
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/63618/rb/26893181354

With super-saver delivery works out at £28.63 for 1gb of Crucial RAM!
And if you want 2gb just place 2 separate orders and get the discount twice - £57.26 for 2gb!

(best to go for 2gb so you have matching pairs of RAM - 2x512mb and 2x1gb in the e520 = 3gb)

Almost deserves a thread of its own!

Online auction site eBay has banned its buyers and sellers from using Google's recently launched (July 2006) online payments service, Google Checkout, in a move that seems designed to protect its own PayPal operation.

Stupid question, but can you only claim the £10 discount once, or on all orders for the duration of the promotion?

This was later then re-voked and they allowed it....

You can use it more than once (it stresses £10 off on ALL orders over £30 until 11th June) hence my post on getting 2gb RAM for £57.26 by placing 2 separate orders (thanks to the discount its actually cheaper paying super saver delivery twice!).

Expect a whole load of Ebuyer deals to be posted now for any product around £30 (as well as cheap items to make up the total to £30)
#33
I hope ebuyer don't get confused with all these £30 orders, I've placed 4 today. I suspect that this promotion may either be cut short or reduced in its generosity as even Google don't have bottomless pockets.

#35
But they won't deliver to my address!!! Help!!!
#36
For anybody trying to order but getting told that ebuyer won't ship to your address:

I've just got off phone with CS, they know about it and hope to have it fixed within 2 hours (3pm). and it's for every order you place using google checkout for at least the next 90 days!
#37
Cheers Shammy!
#38
Ebuyer seems to have just ended the free supersaver shipping for orders >£50. I also noticed some prices have increased from earlier in the morning. Still the £10 discount still makes most thing cheaper :)

Google Checkout is still showing as banned on the eBay website, so seems they didn't revoke the ban. :)
